Reference~ <3 )
He'd been a Super Senshi for…. a while now. He'd kinda forgotten how long, really four years later this year wasn't that long right?. Didn't matter. He was still baffled why anything would even grant him that power, anyway. Not like he did anything with it. The delay in how long it took him to really start poking around Mirrorspace was just further proof for that.
But, he did, now and then, powering up long enough to slip into a mirror and pause while mid-mirrorwalk, lingering in the other dimension away from the rest of the world.
The Common Room was as far as he ever really got, peering at the mirrors, eyeing the closed doors to the Throne Room and... never quite sure what to make of the giant golden-framed mirror.
At least... until tonight.
The storms lately were crazy, and Devlin was especially finding himself agitated by them. Since the night of the big storm, he wasn't... able to get s**t off his mind. That something else might be happening besides the light pollution and chemical reactions according to the news reports. The night had felt wrong, and he'd briefly gone around as Loke that night... the freaking mirrorwraith seemed like it was having a ball just zooming through the air.
It put him on edge, and apparently, it was enough to finally kick him out of his home, into the guise of Loke once more, back to the Common Room... and through the golden mirror.
The place beyond it...
Okay, this place was pretty cool looking. Empty as s**t, but cool.
Loke spent a while there, marveling at the gothic architecture, surprised by actual grass and trees, and hey comfy benches to chill on. But his gaze kept getting snagged by... other mirrors around. One sat in front of a tree near the bench he lounged on, blue eyes narrowed as he stared at the starry scene beyond the glass. Was that just... typical here? Not seeing his reflection, but something out in space?
He kept his distance from the mirror, just.... watched it. View was neat, at least..?
Eventually, he finally took out his compact, hesitating a bit before he left a uh... voice mail, for another member of the court. Not that he'd seen uh.... any of them in a very, very long time but...
"Uh... hey, uh. The uh, weird weather back in the city uh... I dunno. Got me antsy. I went through that uh... huge gold mirror in the Common Room? But uh. Not sure what this place is beyond it. Looks neat, though. And the mirror showing out to space is cool. But uh... yeah. If you don't mind playing 20 Questions at some point, uh... would appreciate it? Uh, thanks. Ciao."
Yeah he was never good at leaving voice mails... or phone calls in general.
But he squinted towards the mirror once more, leaning slightly forward where he sat. Huh. Kinda looked like something was out there? Asteroid or something? Something big, but far enough away in the view of the mirror that Loke at least registered he'd need to get closer to try and get a better look... and he wasn't too sure he wanted to get too close to that mirror....

“–Hello, do I need to get you to a hospital? Can you hear me?”
Remarque stood slightly behind Loke, arms crossed and head tilted as he peered down at him. His attention was fully on the Dark Mirror Senshi, despite the strangeness of the picture in the mirror.
While he might have been careful with his energy signature in Destiny City, here he was almost always a Prince. It was better that way, just in case there was a problem.
Just in case Mirrorspace needed a reminder.
Loke had been sitting there since Remarque first spotted him but he hadn’t so much as looked up in over a minute. Deciding there was no need to wave, Remarque had just walked across the grass to meet him. Still, Loke didn’t seem to notice him.
Remarque had called for him, and when he’d been only a few steps away he waved his hand. That hadn’t worked, either. He was two sentences away from nudging the Senshi with his boot when he thought he saw some flash of recognition on Loke’s face. He exhaled and seemed to relax just slightly. “Oh, there you are. I got your message. What’s going on here?” he asked, nodding to the mirror.

He genuinely thought he'd just been watching the mirror for a few scant seconds, maybe a minute or so tops. There was no register in his mind for the sudden nearby power signature that was far beyond anything else in the area, just watching the stars, forearms resting on his thighs where he leaned over in his seat.
Something was out there, that much he was sure of. Though what... he really wasn't sure...
"--huh?"
Owlishly, he blinked a few times at the mirror, turned his head, and blinked up at.... Remarque? His brows furrowed, head tilting slightly. "Uh... huh, that was fast." And all Princely, too. Loke could definitely feel the aura now, and for the life of him he couldn't figure out how the guy snuck up on him...
"Uh... dunno, was gonna ask you the same thing," he said with a general shrug, glancing to the odd mirror. "Was just checking the place out when I saw this one, and like... view's cool, but not sure what's out there. Kinda looks like something big's floating there."
His gaze flicked back to the blond with a frown. "Since when'd we get mirrors out into space? Doesn't seem like a smart idea to walk through it if we don't have the right gear for out there. Or uh... is that some magic protection stuff?"
Considering the context of things, Loke didn't think it was much of a mental stretch to assume the mirror was some new typical part of Mirrorscape that he'd just...... ignored any updates or information on until now.

Remarque raised a brow as he peered down at Loke. He wasn’t sure if he wanted to make a fuss about how entranced the other Dark Mirror Senshi had seemed so he decided to keep it to himself that he’d had eyes on Loke for easily two minutes before he’d gotten his attention.
Finally, he just clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth and shrugged.
“I don’t think we put any mirrors into space. I’m still trying to figure it out myself, to be honest. I’ve been out here for a few hours.”
Well, he thought it had been a few hours. Maybe he’d been losing time like Loke had.
“Don’t try to walk through them,” he warned. He hadn’t tried to mirrorwalk but he had the distinct impression that it would be foolish to try and stick even his arm out to feel around. “I don’t think it’s a trap, but sometimes Mirrorspace seems to get a little confused. Hm.”
His eyes had fallen to the mirror Loke was holding. “That one looks different than what I just saw. So if we do have mirrors out there, it means there’s more than one.” He was quiet for a moment and then added, “The mirror I saw was the size of the floor to the ceiling. Maybe twelve feet wide. Had a whole planet off to the left. A galaxy behind it. I’m really not sure what I was looking at.”

Dark brows furrowed. "Wait. You didn't? This place doin' that on its own then?" A vague hand wave was given towards... whatever dimension they were in now. "Oh and stupid question time: what is this place? Doesn't look like the Common Room and whatnot I normally walk into. It get an expansion or something?" Genuinely, he'd no idea how Mirrorspace worked, but likening it to video game DLC at least made some sort of sense in his mind.
And he was also not remotely shy about making it how clear he'd been sticking his head in the proverbial sand for a while. He wanted actual information, and attempting to hedge around it in some wacko attempt to weasel something out of Remarque was dumb and a waist of both their time--plus, he respected the guy way more than that.
He listened to what the blond recalled of seeing some other mirror, and while the view sounded cool ay-ef, it was also a wee bit concerning. "So... what? We getting views of what the White Moon senshi see or something out there in space? That kinda feels like a d**k move to wag it in our faces."
After a moment, Loke got up from where he was sitting, stretching a bit with a frown--he felt really stiff, but he hadn't been sitting that long. Stepping closer to the large tree with the mirror propped against it, he rested his hands on his hips. The hair at the back of his neck was standing on end being any closer to it at all, and definitely... there was something out there in space. "...ah ********, Rem, the hell does that look like to you?"
A cold sensation threaded itself down his spine as Loke got a better look at what he thought might be a rock or something, some giant mass of... whatever floating out there. But now, he could see the uneven surfaces, the sudden dips and points and mess of shapes... was more of a corpse scavenged by wildlife. Bones stood pale against the backdrop of the darkness of space, mottled remains of flesh the only thing keeping them still remotely in their original position by the looks of it. It was giant, whatever the ******** it was. Highlighted by some star or another close enough to illuminate its shape, surrounded by bits of.. well. What he kinda just hoped were bits of rock or... uh. Something... probably parts of it, to be fair...
Which... didn't bode well, taking into consideration how far it seemed to be from the mirror and was still freaking huge... if all that had once been part of its mass? "********... no thanks..."

“Loke, how long have you been out of the game?” he asked, raising a brow. He wasn’t criticizing him, he was just trying to figure out how far back he was going to have to go in order to catch Loke up to speed.
He didn’t have time to even start the lesson when something drifted into view. Loke’s attention to it was enough to draw Remarque’s, but he was equally unexcited.
He’d yet to determine exactly what the mirror was trying to show them, or why–or how–it was doing this, but Remarque crossed his arms in front of him and cupped his chin with one hand as he stared into the frame.
“Looks like something got ******** up,” he said plainly. He was a proud man, certain that there was no problem he couldn’t find some way to wrangle. The assumption was occasionally challenged, such as when looking at what seemed to be a badly mangled, half-rotten corpse of some titan in space.
He leaned close, not so much that his nose was touching the glass but he was close as he squinted into it.
“I don’t think the White Moon would want to show us something like this,” he mused. “They like to paint this pretty picture that everything is good and perfect up there.”
And yet, Mirrorspace was not entirely trustworthy, either. He wasn’t ignorant. He just hadn’t figured out why it was showing them these things, or what it was supposed to mean.
“Have you taken pictures of any of this?” he asked, standing up and moving just slightly out of the way in case he hadn’t and wanted to now.

The fact he really needed to pause and consider wasn't a good sign. "Uh... four, five years..?" Not that he'd really been in the game much to begin with, but at least he used to be more consistent about getting off his a** and at least gathering some energy.
The thing in the mirror though...
"That's far from sunshine and rainbows," he said with a visible shiver, eyeing the amount of damage that had even been done to that thing. "...the hell's big enough to take chunks outta that anyway? There space vultures we don't know about?"
As Remarque brought up photos, Loke shook his head, lifting a hand to summon the simple Compact from subspace. The golden trinket glimmered and mirror flashed as he flicked it open with his thumb. "Just been looking at it. Alright..."
Loke held the Compact up with one hand, opened fully to allow the mirror to face away from him and towards the bigger one standing against the tree. He triggered it to begin to record, stepping closer to the odd mirror to better get visuals on... whatever was out there.
"Found this mirror while looking around Mirrorspace. It's got a view out to space, but there's also some... giant corpse floating out there. Thought it was some rock, asteroid or something, but it's..." He looked above the Compact, frowning as he stared at the mauled and maimed form, its debris floating around its missing chunks and bared bones. "It's definitely some huge... dead thing."
He moved closer still, holding the Compact nearly to the glass as he squinted somewhat at the corpse.
One section... it seemed smaller than the rest, and he wondered if it was... the head? He tried to make out what the thing might have been, but--
A large eye, milky with the film of death, rolled in whatever remains of the socket still held it in place. It stared back at him, past the Compact, and Loke felt his blood run ******** Super Senshi stumbled backwards, unable to wrench his eyes away from the gaze staring back at him. "******** it moved!"

‘Four or five years’ suddenly didn’t seem like it was worth commenting on. Remarque’s face twisted into a grimace as he stared into the mirror. If he hadn’t been watching it, he might have thought it was just Loke’s eyes playing tricks on him.
He stared into the mirror as the behemoth drifted. He watched the eye, to see if he could detect any sense of consciousness, of awareness, but he saw nothing sentient. For a few seconds, he felt foolish for thinking that something could be alive and in such a state–but was magic any more believable? Was that any more realistic?
No, as the body decayed, muscles and tendons wore away. Whatever was holding the eye in place probably just disintegrated.
His lip curled and he drew back a few inches.
For some reason, he watched the holes and flayed flesh as if he expected the perpetrator to manifest.
Nothing did.
“I don’t think it’s alive.” The eye didn’t look like it was focusing on anything, and the more Remarque stared into it, the less alive it looked.
Still ******** up, though.
“...Don’t know much about space vultures, but I guess nothing’s impossible. The only thing I’ve seen alive out there is a whale, but…” He clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth. “Doubt I’ll get to see one of those again.”

His heart was still pounding, a painful rapid thud in his chest that made him feel rather nauseous. Loke finally turned off the recording at least, aware he'd made enough of an idiot of himself with that one...
And he wasn't even sure if he could upload that footage to his PC or anything to edit it... ugh.
"....I'm sorry, what? A space whale?" He shot the other a perplexed look, if disappointed to hear the chances of seeing them might not happen.
"So... what, this thing like the giant squid versus sperm whales? Think one of those whales coulda munched on it?"
Frowning, he restarted the filming on the Compact, holding it close to the mirror again to get another closeup of the creature's massive carcass, trying to glide slowly along its mangled length to show of as much of it as possible.
When that was done, he closed the Compact, sighing as he eyed the sight in the mirror uneasily. "...I can upload all that, see if anyone else in the Court's got any insight on... I dunno, vet stuff?" His head tilted somewhat as he scanned the unknown length. "...I just wanna know the ******** that thing is, y'know? Where'd it come from? Cuz like... in most cases, where there's one, there's gonna be more, right?"

“Maybe,” Remarque mused. “I mean, statistically, I wouldn’t imagine it’s one of a kind. I want to know why the mirror’s focused on it. And how.”
His face had settled into a frown as he scrutinized the mirror, but it seemed like there wasn’t anything more to glean. Even the image seemed to be fading somewhat, bu tRemarque didn’t know if that was only because he’d been staring into it for so long.
He leaned back and rubbed at his eyes.
“Mirrorspace doesn’t always make sense but I like to think it’s not completely random. I’ll look into this but I don’t know how fortunate we’ll be to find any answers. If this sort of thing gives you nightmares,” his hand was curled into a fist and he pointed with his thumb, “Maybe try not to look too deeply into the mirrors. And don’t try to go through them. Not that I think you’d want to get any closer to that, but…”
He clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth and shook his head. “Just be careful, okay?”

"Mirrorspace wouldn't just show us stuff for nothing, I'd think. I can joke all I want about it teasing us for not having giant monsters roaming around here, oh look what other senshi get, but I'm more wondering if it's showing us all that cuz it's warning about a predator."
He was talking out of his a**, of course, as Loke had no idea what the ******** was going on, but it didn't disrupt the unease he felt. "Something probably killed and then clearly chowed down on whatever that was. Maybe it's a warning about whatever killed it? Not that it helps us know what the predator is, but..."
His considerations were somewhat paused by Remarque's advice, a wry smile flickering across his face. "I'll keep that in mind, but don't think that'll have me missing sleep." At least, he usually liked horror stuff and didn't have issues...
Stepping back further from the mirror--was the corpse drifting away? Huh--he turned instead to motion to the city and castle beyond it, a brighter, if not more cheeky, grin in place. "Fair 'nough. But 'fore you go, mind telling me what all this is?"
Were he a better person, he'd at least apologize to Remarque for needing such filling in, alas...

Remarque didn’t particularly miss the sight of the decaying corpse drifting away. It soured the rest of the view too much for him to even enjoy the expanse of stars and distant worlds.
When he drew his gaze away again, it was with amusement, and maybe only the slightest judgment. He wasn’t going to give anyone too much of a hard time! It wasn’t like people exactly signed up to join the mirror. How could he blame Loke for having a life?
“The Mirrorscape. I don’t know who named it, somehow it stuck. I don’t know if it named itself and incepted us or if someone slipped it in and nobody bothered to come up with something better. That,” he nodded to the dark tower, “Is the Citadel. There’s a crystal up there, at the top. Not quite sure exactly what it does, but I think it’s partly how this place keeps functioning. Have you ever found any little crystals out there in Mirrorspace? They pop up sometimes. You can come here and crack them open, it’s sort of like ‘bottled elements’, I guess. All these floating islands, seems like it’s land to be cultivated. I’ll have to show you mine, sometime. I’ve got it pretty decked out. Built a little mini-home up there. It’s great, you should spend more time around here. You want one for yourself? You can build your own little world, just the way you want it. You just have to find the right pieces to do so.”

Mirrorspace and Mirror...scape..? His brows furrowed a bit even as he smiled, amused by the collection of words. Okay, the Mirror theme was, of course, a given, but... "We need to get more creative with naming s**t, or this place needs to be about naming itself, or whatever," he laughed, snickering outright at the whole thing. Not that he was jumping up and down with ideas himself, so was he really one to talk..?
Still, he paid attention, making mental notes about the Citadel, and the mention of crystals...
His eyes widened, and Loke reached into the subspace he stored... extremely few things in. But one... one was a Strange Energy Crystal he'd gotten when they'd all gone freaking... tumbling through Mirrorspace a few years ago. The milky, purple haze that swirled within with the tiny golden shimmers were unchanged over the years as Loke held it once more.
"....you mean like this one? Huh." It was... interesting actually. They could do stuff here? Update it..? What Remarque mentioned for his own space, his own floating island, sounded pretty cool, and the look he gave the blond was obvious in how impressed hew as. "That sounds pretty kickass, won't lie. Little home away from home, yeah?"
His eyes roamed over the rather... empty looking grounds, and hummed. "Think we could ever get like... I dunno, not a shop really, but like... a storehouse for supplies or something in here? In case anyone needs like, food or water or something? Or hell, what're the chances we could get like, some kinda movie theatre in here?" His grin was wide, the second part more of a joke than anything... but it could be neat to see more stuff in general around here for the Court to access.
A shelter, if needed.
"...yeah, it'd be nice to have a little thing of my own. Like the sound of that."

“What are the chances of a movie theatre?” he repeated, a bit amused. “Better than you think. Every trip you make here, you can bring a little more in to work with. I’ve been stocking up for a while. Makes me feel a little like a Doomsday prepper, but.”
He shrugged. Hard to feel like it was a bad idea when there was an active threat heading their way.
While looking up, he tried to find which island was his but they all drifted so he couldn’t spot it immediately. Given what they’d just seen, he supposed now might not have been the best time for show and tell but he wanted Loke to at least know what he could work with.
“A storehouse for supplies that we could all access is a good idea. I’ve just been stockpiling on my island, but it’s easy for me to get to. If any of you needed anything, you know I’d help. I wish the mirror would recruit a few more carpenters, some electricians, plumbers. Would be a hell of a lot easier than trying to do it all myself. Every now and then I can convince a Mauvian to help me out but I’m always worried they’re trying to drop trackers or bugs or something.”
Remarque had standards, and he wasn’t going to do anything to endanger the Court.
His eyes returned to Loke and he nodded towards the shard he held. “I had a crystal like that, a while back. Planted it up at my place and it grew a tree, so sometimes you never know what you’re gonna get. You and I should check out Mirrorspace some time, I bet we could get a few more crystals. Try playing around with them, see what you can make. Mirrorspace is very accommodating.”
…When it wasn’t trying to jumpscare you.
