She had heard from many other mares about blessings and while of course she believed in the gods, and she was a follower of Athena, she had been reluctant to believe in the blessings for children. Maybe she just didn't understand it well enough, but regardless here she was making her way to the temple of Hera.
As she made her way up the steps, she thought of her mate Rephaite. She hadn't told him she was coming to the temple, though she knew he would have came if she'd asked. She felt it was something she needed to experience by herself in case she changed her mind. She would never change her mind about Rephaite and their bond, but the thought of children scared her slightly. It wasn't that she didn't want them, but would she be a good mother?
At the top of the steps, she noticed a green pegasus mare nearby. She wondered if this was the one who would bless her. She approached quietly, her small offering tied together and held in her mouth. She gently set it on the ground and greeted the mare. "Hello?"

She appreciated the kind welcome and was glad that the other mare had anticipated her offering, and possible reason for being here. It was a bit overwhelming. She pushed past her nervousness and replied, "Thank you. My name is Aranea. I've come to see about a blessing?" She changed her tone to a questioning one at the end as she was still a bit unsure about it. "I've been told this is where I should come, but I don't know how it works."
She paused and looked around noticing where it looked like others had left small offerings. "I'll just put this over there then," she said as she bent to pick up her bundle. She quickly moved it over to join the other offerings. She looked at her small pouch full of dead spiders, a few feathers from Rephiate and a small skull she had gotten from him. She eyed a few of the other offerings and felt hers might be a bit inadequate, so she pulled off a gemstone from her necklace and added it to the pile. Satisfied, she went back to Nerina.

Aranea stifled a laugh. "That's it? I was so worried it was some kind of complicated ritual and required blood or something." She smiled big at Nerina. "Thank you so much for the blessing, and for making this so much easier than I thought it would be." She nodded at the mare, and as she turned to leave she said over her shoulder. "Tell Hera thanks for me as well will you?" She chuckled at that and made her way back out of the temple and on her way home to tell Rephaite the good news. She felt much lighter and hopeful on her way home.
