Kiuchi didn’t go out often, he didn’t need to, the dark mirror didn’t have the same obligations as the Negaverse did so there was a good amount of freedom in that. It allowed him to spend most of his time on his civilian life, with his family, and the times he did power up were typically spent either in mirror space or the mirrorscape. He was slowly building up his floating island, mostly trees and a pool of hot water for people to swim in, the goal was a hot water lake with trees and grass as well as some flowers. Kiuchi had a very nice, even romantic, image in his mind of what he wanted to create for himself and it was slowly being worked on.

Tonight was not the usual night as he’d decided to go out and actually gather some energy, he rarely did at this point, but he knew he needed to do some energy gathering…even if it wasn’t a lot. Hanging out on a rooftop, the fact the owners weren’t home was a good thing for him, as his wraiths worked the crowd down below. The place had a semi open bar area that while somewhat open to the elements was heated, as people drank and watched some sort of sports game on large tv’s.

Walking with the night’s spoils, Chang’E spotted one of those things again, the wraiths that the mirror senshi had explained to him. Knowing they wouldn’t harm him, he paid them little mind until one of them started scaling the building. It was an odd sort of thing and it had him pausing to watch as it moved up the brick as if it needed no handholds to progress.

It was fascinating and he wondered if it was the same mirror senshi or another. Tucking his bag of dinner under his arm, he made his way up the fire escape until he poked his head over the wall and looked at the tall figure standing there. Something about them reminded him of the older Chinese clothing style he remembered from before. But what drew his attention was the snake-like pattern on their clothing. It bode well for him perhaps getting to talk with this one, still cautious even though all his meetings had gone well so far.

“Hello, I don’t intend to interrupt your wraith but I was curious.” Pulling himself up and over the lip of the rooftop, he made sure his dinner hadn’t freed itself from the containers. The seafood and noodles seemed well contained so he nodded slightly to himself before sitting on the edge of the rooftop.

He’d felt the signature, much lesser than his own, and hadn’t worried over it. Not much of a fighter but more than able to handle himself, Kiushi had a good amount of confidence in his magic, and so he remained on the rooftop with a large panda plushie in his arms as his wraiths worked the crowd down below. Pressing his chin onto the plush fabric, feeling it give under his weight, he wasn’t surprised when his wraith returned nice and full of energy and let it back into the mirror shard it had come from. He also wasn’t surprised when the senshi arrived, turning to glance over his shoulder at them.

“Thank you for not interrupting it.” Plenty of senshi, and knights, had done so in the past…and than attacked him. He still remembered a large part of a tree landing on him, and trapping him, thanks to some senshi as well as a cloud of cinnamon that was difficult to breathe through. “Why don’t you take a seat.” Motioning to the home owners patio furniture. “I doubt they’ll notice when they get home.” Moving to take a seat himself, a second wraith returning to him, he settled himself with ease.”You sound new to being a senshi, if you don’t mind me saying. But it’s a good thing.” They hadn’t been turned against his court, thankfully, and maybe they never would be either.

Getting up from the less-than-comfortable choice of seating, he took their offer and sat on the odd chair. It was odd with its slats and whatever material it was made out of but it let him set his dinner on his lap as he contemplated eating if they weren’t going to cause any harm to him.

“No, not really new to this, just here.” Gesturing to the lights and what he felt were foreign advancements compared to what he knew. Then he noticed the plush, it looked like one of the white and black bears from where he’d been before. “Ah… a 熊猫? Are they still called that? I’m surprised they continue to exist. Do you mind if I eat? I don’t wish for the fish to spoil before I make my way back.” Untying the bag only slightly, to check and make sure the containers were sealed shut, he was pleased to still see steam inside the one filled with soup.

“You seem… familiar…” But with them being mirror, he couldn’t be sure. The mention of human senshi being reborn left the door open for him knowing some of them in the past but with so much time having passed, he couldn’t be quite sure.

“Use the table for the food.” Because this family had a nice set up, likely hosted events out here in the summer, and since they weren’t around he doubted anyone would notice or mind. If they did…no one would be around for them to point fingers at, so who cared? He needed to keep himself hidden while being close enough for his wraiths to work. Kiushi also wasn’t interested in standing about if he didn’t need to, too long on his feet.

Responding in Chinese, though he did notice it was different from the others, he did confirm the continued existence of pandas as well as them being a national treasure of China. “You are not from here but you know Chinese? It’s far more formal and older than my own.” Which hinted at a few things, other than how formal they were, and he wasn’t entirely sure on things. “Eat, I won’t stop you, cold food is never good but especially seafood.” Waving a hand about, he smiled at the other, a soft and gentle smile, because Kiushi might be an eternal and not such a pushover; he was still a rather soft person.

“Do I?” Sitting up a bit straighter he gave a bow, as much as he could while seated. “Kiushi, dark mirror senshi of Gorgon’s. I can't say I know you but perhaps, in another life. And you are?”

Shifting slightly, he put the bag up on the table and unpacked things, offering a fanged smile in thanks to this pleasant senshi. The smile brightened as he heard them respond in kind to his older Chinese phrasing.

“Yes! I do, and yes it is older. I know language changes, I saw it happen over generations as things withered back home but I wasn’t sure how it would happen here.” Starting off with the shrimp, he chewed thoughtfully as he looked at them.

The name had him coughing and choking slightly as it loosed a memory. “Ah! Yes! I went there to broker a trade deal for stone to build up the bazaar.” But then his smile faltered because it meant the senshi he had known hadn’t made it, hadn’t survived as he had.

“Chang’E, of Elation. Though my planet was a trade hub and I wandered to broker deals and support new trade routes through the stars.” Not that any of them remained anymore.

“I am Chinese myself.” To explain why he spoke the language, as if it weren't obvious, but he could be mistaken as any sort of asian really...or almost any. It wasn’t like some asians didn’t speak several Asian languages, though he didn’t, it was possible so he figured it best to let the other know. The language had indeed changed, a lot he assumed, but it was still something he could understand. He just didn’t know how much had changed or what all the changes were, though he was certain there were people who would know that answer.

“You should watch some Chinese dramas online, you won’t likely find any on tv, but online you can watch them and get a better feel for modern Chinese.” It would, he figured, help the other in getting a grasp on things. He might not understand slang terms but that could be worked on, it would just take time, like it had taken him in learning Chinese since his mother had stopped teaching him when he was young. He’d had to pick it up years later, on his own, and he’d been way behind. But he had managed it.

Shifting the taller senshi watched the others' face, he was good with reading people, and offered up his plushie to the other - they needed it right now. “I’m sorry I’m not that person from the past, that they aren’t alive and you are. But…was the bazaar built?” Wanting to lighten the mood a bit, while still feeling some sort of guilt…or something. “Tell me about it? Dark mirror senshi…we don’t have access to space - to our planets. We aren’t the same as senshi, like yourself, though we also aren’t corrupt senshi…we are still chaos and so don’t have access to space.” And while he didn’t regret it, wouldn’t trade what he had for a planet, that didn’t mean he didn’t want to hear about it - about the past. It was a fascinating concept. Life on other planets, perhaps not this advanced, but all that going on while life here was totally unaware…while people living here now were unaware of the ancient past in space. It really was interesting, and he was relaxing as he hoped to hear more from the other.

“The one time I wound up in space…a Queen tried to kill us. Or well…not kill us, she tried to turn my court and myself into crystal soldiers…”

“Ah! That’s wonderful to hear. I quite enjoyed the culture there and I am glad to see it's still around.” The fabrics had been especially pleasant to wear and if they were still around he wanted to see if Brioche could help him procure some.

“I see, like old stage theatre I would guess but through the technology of current times? I know things exist but I can’t say I’m well acquainted with it yet.” Brioche might know, he knew the older woman who owned the apartment he resided in watched some sort of thing called a soap opera. He’d been warned about things for when the woman returned home with the warming weather. It was something that made him slightly anxious, given he was a stranger living in the woman’s home but Brioche had said things would be alright.

Looking down at the plush, he squished it to his chest for a moment before looking back over at Kiuchi. “Ah, yes, it did. I could show you perhaps at some point?” It wasn’t something he was sure he could do now, even as he was starting to feel a bit better off with the warming weather and all the food Brioche had him eating.

“If I do manage to bring you there, there’s no queen to cause you trouble at least.” A lot of what they said still floated over his head but at least they were explaining things as the other mirror senshi had. “I am sorry you are cut off, it might be better that way considering things.” Those coin things that he knew were just out of sight on his world is a major thing that he worried over even now as he was on a different planet.

“China is still around…the culture.” Trailing off he shook his head slowly. “The government abuses its people and the population can’t be supported. Too many people are living beyond poor, or only a hair above poverty level. China is not as it should be, not in this modern day, you should read up on it and look into it. I could find a way to bring books for you? But you would have to look to information sources that aren’t Chinese.” He knew it sounded bad but he knew how bad China was right now, how people were abused and mistreated, censored and even vanished for speaking out.

“Yes, dramas are like old operas I suppose, just not in a theater. You can find some online, you might prefer the historical ones but I suggest the modern ones as well to help you.” To help him see what the world was like, learn the language better, it would help the other a lot even though it wouldn’t show the current problems of China and its people.

“If me being chaos doesn’t bother you, then yes. I would like to in time see the bazaar and anything else you’d like to show me on your planet. No one to cause trouble would be good, I’d rather not have a repeat of that.” It had been scary, even though he’d come out of it with a little wand at his waist, but the idea of space was still a curious thing. He didn’t want a home in space though, he was happy here and with the mirrorspace they had.

“I didn’t have the best family life here so I’ve managed to build my own family. The dark mirror court became that family, they took me in when I needed it, so I’m not sorry I can’t go to some planet up in space. Even if the idea is…a curious thing, generally speaking.” Staring at his lap as he spoke, fingers playing with his sleeves and the fabric of his uniform.

It didn’t sound good, if anything it sounded like some of the places he had experienced before things had been cut off. But at least they’d managed to escape in a way, similarly to how he’d gotten away from what was left of his world. It wasn’t something he was sure what to do with, at least for the most part, but the idea of bringing this person, and perhaps Brioche up there did give him an inkling of an idea of where to begin.

“As long as you don’t cause any harm to my world or myself, than I have no issue. I brought many volatile ambassadors in for trade deals and perhaps it might be nice for you to see the work of your past self.” Even if they couldn’t go to their own world, he was glad they had some sort of family sense to keep them moving forward. This mirror court sounded interesting, very tightly knit, even if it was chaos.

“Of course, I’d enjoy meeting again here and there. I can’t properly contact you unfortunately, I don’t quite understand most of the technology here still but I do find myself frequently over by the reservoir. The sand there is quite warm even during winter, I believe they may have it heated from beneath which is lovely.”

Focusing on the last bit of his seafood, he switched over to his soup and packed the other trash back into the bag. “It will be nice to have others there again, it was very lonely for a very long time.” Looking down at his soup, he quieted down as he thought about all the wandering he’d done and calling out to people who had long since passed away. It was different here on Earth which was nice, but he wasn’t sure if he could do anything about his planet still. He needed to take time to figure it out, he didn’t need to rush either.

“It’ll be nice…” Repeating before starting on his soup, he tried not to think about how quiet and stagnant it was on Chang’E.
