The routine was beginning to get stale. Drain a target, find himself set upon by some self-righteous a*****e, fight said self-righteous a*****e, repeat. It honestly wasn't even worth pausing his draining or acknowledging that he could sense someone approaching, so routine was this situation.
And anyway, tonight's snowy little park had provided more than enough, so he could probably walk away with what he already had. But Diaboleite was determined, and pushing just that little bit further was wise, he thought, for his personal prospects.
His latest energy donor staggered away, and he fiddled with the glowing ball in his palm. Lovely. And whatever happened, he had won.

This one was tall, even more so than the last bad guy she'd chased down. Chillingham saw the poor staggering student and gave them a look over before wandering over to what looked like a businessman with an all too professional suit. Keeping her grip on the iron handle of her pumpkin cauldron, she swung her arm and threw it right at them. "You shouldn't be doing that!" Hopefully, the surprise and bonk of the metal thing would startle them enough to get them to drop that ball of energy. She knew it couldn't go back to the person by now but she didn't like them stealing it to feed whatever evildoer badness it did. She didn't really care if she was at a disadvantage when it came to size, she just had to do something about all these weirdos causing problems. What if they did something to bother the new alien friend she'd made? Or if there were other's like them that were scared to come around because of these people. She didn't like it one bit.

Well. The bonk of a metal object into his head was a surprise. at least this particular nuisance was opening with a fight and not pretending to want to talk first. That was, in a strange way, a plus.
"You shouldn't be doing that." What a brilliant rallying cry. Truly, Diaboleite felt shamed to his absolute core, shocked by the revelation that he was doing something people objected to.
He gazed up at the sky for a moment. He wasn't exactly a believer in anything divine, in particular, but it still felt as if perhaps he was owed the ability to ask the sky if it was also seeing this s**t, as there wasn't anyone else to turn to.
He turned towards her, scooping up the pumpkin bucket and hurling it right back, since they were tossing things.
"I'm perfectly aware. What, exactly, are you going to do about it?"
He strode towards her. The difference in their bulks and their equal power levels put him, he figured, at the advantage. And if it came down to t, he could always just get his hand on her starseed and make her regret interrupting him.

That sounded kind of lame, not really a comeback, but she grabbed the bucket as it came at her. It wasn't as much of a surprise this time it seemed unlike the last one with the chopstick. If her brother was here, seeing the face she was making as she started moving, words would be had over her being reckless. And, as usual, she wouldn't listen and just would get on with it. Moving forward with all the well-practiced force of a teen getting out of school for the summer, she went to tackle them. "This!" It wasn't a smart idea and if she had put any thought into things, she might have realized it given how much taller and bigger they were. But Chillingham was too busy with the idea of being a knight in shining armor to let silly thoughts like common sense get through her skull.

Oh that was just hilarious. Clearly this girl hadn't thought any step of her little plan through, because while her crashing into him did make Diaboleite stumble back a little--the full force of a body would do that--it certainly didn't take him off his feet. Nor did it really put him at a disadvantage.
It did, however, give him several different kinds of opportunity.
"You're very brave," he commended, because it was true, "and also very, very foolish." Which was also blatantly obvious.
He could have gone for the starseed, but that would have felt sort of bad, given her youth and likely inexperience. So instead, he grabbed the back of her frilly little uniform and hefted, scruffing her like a disobedient kitten and then throwing with all the force he could muster.
Get her off him and maybe teach her a lesson about challenging opponents that clearly outclassed her in the process. Then again, someone who greeted with thrown weapons and thrown bodies wasn't exactly likely to learn from getting smacked around, so maybe that was a lost cause.

Uh oh. Well it could have gone better, something that maybe she should have tried from a different angle, but that would have to wait as she was hefted up and thrown like a ragdoll. It wasn't the first time she'd been thrown around, that was a frequent occurrence when visiting family or going on holiday, but it was the first time she had to figure out how to not end up like an egg on the sidewalk. "Wankerrrrrrrrr!" She yelled as she tried to cover her head before hitting the ground with a yelp. It wasn't a flattering landing, more like a heap, but at least she still seemed to be put together. The stars glittering at the edge of her vision were fine... probably. Getting back up wasn't as easy but she managed it after a moment. "Well, I have to be," she huffed as she crossed her arms. Freddy might be more cautious but he also was just a regular civilian so it was her job to make sure it was safe out here for him. She just ignored the foolish comment as she stood there and tried to puff herself up to look more threatening.

Diaboleite couldn't help but laugh. Yeah, probably, he was a bit of a wanker, all things considered. Unfortunately for the Page before him, that wasn't going to make him feel bad.
He had to give her credit for tenacity, getting back on her feet, but he pushed his hand throguh his hair and shook his head.
"Walk away," he said, which he thought was a generous offer considering how all this had started. "You know you're outmatched. Come at me again and I'll do more than just toss you away. So make the smart move and live to fight another day."

"I don't think I will, how about you walk away." Sure he was a big guy but she knew a few other knights that maybe could come help, the only question was how long would they take to get here. But then an idea hit her and thought of an even better idea. If this guy had a bunch of witnesses, they would surely run off, right? So pulling her hand up, she whistled loudly before running in to swing at them with her bucket in hand. It might not do much damage but it was better than nothing and someone would show up just like she always tried to shop up and help when she could.

Oh. Well. That was stupid of her.
Diabolite stepped forward ot meet her charge, and snapped his hand out, aiming for her chest. Not with a punch, no. His hand slid in easily, and he wrapped his hand around her starseed, glaring coldly down at her and squeezing.
"I am giving you one last chance." His voice was frozen. "Backup may arrive for you. But will they arrive soon enough?"
Diaboleite doubted it.

What was he going to do? Push her back? No, it was so much worse. Her eyes went wide as she stared down at his hand just going straight into her chest like it was nothing. It felt wrong, so wrong, and then it got worse as he squeezed whatever it was he was squeezing. Trying for anything, because this was not good at all, she brought her knee up to hit him where it would hurt. At least hopefully he would let go so she could get out of reach. That on top of digging her nails into his wrist. Something had to work because she really needed to get home.

Well. Diaboleite had to give her points for gumption. Her knee struck him solidly, and the shock and pain made him double over and release her, staggering backwards.
Well. That was exactly enoguh of that.
"If I ever see you again," he threatened, "I'm going to finish the ******** job and kill you."
Not tonight, though. Tonight, he was going to retreat as fast as he could and go home to put ice on the injury.
