Prompt 2 Year of the Snake
2025 is the Year of the Wood Snake which represents wisdom, transformation, and personal growth. Use this as an opportunity to have your character reflect on past deeds or decisions, and consider how these events will shape their future in the coming year.

Hylonome was torn. There was no other description that she could use that fit her situation. Having made the connection that she had not always been a senshi of the Negaverse meant that for the moment she was, for better or worse, stuck in a position in which she had to severely curb any impulses that she dearly wanted to act on. Even as she cast her gaze to the sky did the corrupt senshi reflect on the past two years. Ever since the first instance where doubt had been placed in her mind that something was not as it had seemed had her path been one of having to slowly learn that her destiny had not always been tied to the organization that she currently served.

It was perhaps because of Prehnite's honesty over the following confrontations that had cropped up that Hylonome had learned the entire truth behind what had happened to her. But who had she been before she had been found, freshly corrupted, on that field of battle? That, more than anything, bothered Hylonome more than she was letting show to the general that had seen it his duty to install her in his household. Perhaps she should have been grateful that she had not been abandoned to simply exist in the anomalous blob that described the overall state of the Negaverse.

Okay, so it was not exactly a blob. The organization took care of each member that served. Hylonome rubbed at the scar on her thigh before thinking back on how she had obtained it. A fierce battle; no warning and then sudden pain. The following stay in an infirmary and resulting period of time after recuperating was a time she wished she could forget. Life lessons tended to stick in one's brain.

For now though Hylonome had to look ahead to the future. Mistakes had been made in the past and no doubt would she probably make more in the future but at the moment her future spread out into two distinct branches: she could either try to find herself ignoring what she knew was the truth and continue to serve the Negaverse or she could figure out a way to wrest herself away from the only home and family she had known in order to return to her former self. There seemingly was a world up in that vast expanse of sky that was just waiting for her to return to it. Would life be more enriching if she chose to accept what should have been her normal path forward? What of Sonya, Reed and the others? Would they understand why she had to leave if she chose that path?

For now though she was currently still on the fence about what decision she planned to make. The best idea was to gather more information on either path available to her and just keep her head down in the meantime. Collecting data on what she wanted to know would have to be kept to clandestine encounters with Order at least. There could be reasons that she was sussing out information that she could play off as information gathering ... but it would be for herself and not the Negaverse.
