Yseult didn’t normally venture to this side of town. Most of the buildings, as far as she knew, had office space for, like, lawyers, and advertising firms, and the sorts of doctors Yseult didn’t need in her life (—well, maybe the plastic surgeons, but not right now, and she would’ve preferred somebody who specialized in gender-affirming work or at least had more experience with it than with wealthy housewives who wanted nose-jobs or whatever). Being nineteen and only having so much money available to her at any given point, Yseult really couldn’t afford anything in the stores around here, either, so there wasn’t much of a point. Even the ostensibly cute, bodega-adjacent establishments charged so much for a bottle of soda or juice that it made Yseult cry a little inside and be glad she’d brought a bottle of water with her.
Like a lot of her things, Yseult’s water bottle was Pokémon themed: a canteen that looked like a Wailmer, with a long lanyard you could wear around your neck, which bore a pattern design of Zarude, Celebi, Applin, Wooloo, Hattrem, and Explorer Pikachu, with his cute little hat and his own Wailmer-shaped canteen. It spoke to what had brought her out here today, in her thermal tights (pale pink with a pattern of Hattenna, Hattrem, and Hatterne), her fluffy kinda tutu-looking skirt (styled to look like Pop-Star Pikachu), and her Galarian Ponyta hoodie underneath her coat.
Namely: the Destiny City Pokémon Go League Discord server had been lighting up all day with people talking about how many shinies they’d caught within a few specific blocks uptown.
Since she didn’t have work or dance practice today, once she’d gotten out of classes, Yseult had headed out there herself. While the bus she’d taken had worked its way north, she’d texted Kaito to tell him where she was going and invite him to meet her if he wanted to. Now, absorbed in her phone, Yseult didn’t really notice how long she’d spent pacing back and forth outside of one office in particular. She’d used her Adventure Incense for the day—add another Galarian Articuno to the pile, but this one was, indeed, shiny!!!—and fired up another, basic Incense. You had to keep moving in order to get the most out of those, and whenever a new Pokémon spawned in her game, she didn’t want to miss it.

It wasn't normally part of Gerard's job to chase off potential trespassers, given that the firm's office did indeed have security, but apparently none of them wanted to deal with the young woman who had been pacing in front of the building for quite some time. Strictly, she wasn't doing anything, and no one exactly wanted to look like they were running someone off who wasn't causing problems.
So it wasn't per se his job, but Gerard was leaving to take a late lunch at one of the restaurants near the office, and he could take a moment to ensure she was alright and ask her to maybe wander a little further down.
He was casual in his approach, stopping a little ways away from her so as hopefully not to alarm her.
"Ma'am," he called, politely, "are you alright?" She seemed focused on her phone, but that could mean any number of things. Best to just ask.
