Honestly, Magion hadn’t really had the time to think about Lucien, the Mauvian she had met who had gotten her all set up for Earth, but today…she was sitting on top of one of the swings in the park, (she loved the swings. They were so much fun to play on, even if they were for little children.) and she was looking at her Senshi phone.
She had sent a message to Lucien and the location where she was and asked if he was able to come and visit. There were snacks, she put that in the message, because of course there were snacks. Today it was some strawberry cupcakes that just made her tongue tingle!
Mary had expressed worry that she was allergic to the fruit, but she was sure that she wasn’t! It was a good kind of tingle.
She had confirmation from Lucien that he would come to see her, and she put her phone away, kicking off from the ground and beginning to swing.
The air had gotten so cold, and it was getting colder every day, but it was fun. She was having fun, and honestly, the bad memories of that…that place had really started to retreat.
Which was good.

Learning about Earth was not always as enjoyable as Lucien would have liked. He hadn’t expected it to be easy, but there were things that lingered in the dark of society, or even worse, right out in the open. Ignored by all, as dictated by the majority of the population.
Still, it was always good to see things that were flourishing. Including Senshi.
He knew he was rusty when it came to being a Mauvian. His memories were almost completely gone, and what he could remember were flashes of nonsensical things. He knew his memory may never return, so he had to make the most of what was given to him.
Like an opportunity to check in on a Senshi he’d met -- and who’d disappeared -- not so long ago that he didn’t immediately remember her.
“Magion, I hope you are well,” he greeted, his tail swishing as he approached the swingset, peering up at her. He did not envy her lightweight clothing, but she carried herself well.
Even more than that, he was surprised to feel something blooming within her aura.

Magion’s expression grew excited when she heard the voice and she quickly planted her heels on the ground to stop herself from going back into the air. “You came! I know you that you said you would, I’m just glad that nothing stopped you, things have been strange lately. I think I got eaten by some kind of other world and it was absolutely trying to kill me.”
That was…vague and confusing and she shrugged, trying to figure out if there was a better way to say it but she couldn’t find one. “Mary, the friend that I’m living with says that it’s just things that happen in the city sometimes so…I guess I’ll have to deal with that…how have you been? Do you like strawberries? I brought some cupcakes! I thought we could have a nice get together. I’m so sorry I vanished on you, I was getting ahead of myself with trying to figure out the phone but…I’ve got things pretty well under control now, I think!”

“I am glad to see you are in good spirits,” Lucien nodded politely, listening patiently as Magion spoke. She seemed to have a lot she wanted to talk about, and he wouldn’t interrupt her. He understood the comment about Destiny City having strange goings on, even if he didn’t know exactly what she was talking about. It was good that she seemed unscathed by the event.
“I would be honored to share with you,” he nodded again, intrigued by her offer. He’d had cupcakes before, and strawberries, but he was always willing to try things. For science.
“There is no need for an apology. How are you feeling? Physically? Emotionally? Have you learned how to master your magic once more? I know it can be difficult after being away from others for so long.” He’d talked to others, of course. Their magic might not be as powerful as it once was, but time would heal most things.

“I’m doing all right! Mary is wonderful. I’m living with her…she’s a Knight? We do a lot together and I’m really lucky to have her as a friend.” Carefully, Magion withdrew the two cupcakes from out of her subspace pocket and put one down in front of Lucien, before digging into the other one.
“I think they’re a lot of fun! Mary thinks that I’m allergic because my lips and tongue tingle from them? But I don’t care. I think these are some of the best Earth fruits! That’s the best part of this planet…there’s so much food! And it’s all delicious…”
She looked utterly contented and smiled at the Mauvian. “My magic has been okay? Sometimes it takes a few tries to get it to work but other than that, it’s fine! Physically I’m good! Emotionally too, I think! I love the Earth…how are you doing? Have things been well?”

Lucien considered the cupcake that was set in front of him, taking a polite sided bite from the top. He gave her a concerned look with her revelation and sighed.
“You are free to do as you please, as it is your life to live; however, it is good to keep in mind that concerns often come from the heart. Those who care about you will want to see you healthy. Allergies are not to be trifled with, and could cause severe reactions that those on Earth may not have the ability to handle, given your lineage,” Lucien gently shared. Not to scold or to admonish, but as a gentle reminder why someone might want her to be careful.
“They are delicious, but I am confident that you could find alternatives that are not potentially detrimental to your health. If you enjoy the tingling sensation, you could perhaps use peppermint instead.”
There was part of him that suspected she would not care to listen. It was a shame because he wanted to unlock the powers she seemed to have grown back into, but was concerned she might be too reckless for them.
“Earth has been an adventure I was not prepared for. Many new things to learn and experience. Tell me, are you content as you are now, or are you looking to grow and improve yourself, experience new things, take on more responsibilities in your life?”

“I suppose that’s true. I’ll talk to Mary about it again, I’m sure she has answers. I don’t really like peppermint. It lingers too long. I want to, but I don’t know. I’ll try again. Honestly there’s nothing that I wouldn’t eat, but I’m starting to pick some favorites and that’s been fun.”
She nodded at Lucien’s talk about Earth. If that wasn’t one of the truest things she had ever heard. “The Earth has been an adventure for sure…it wasn’t anything that I thought would ever happen but I’m always glad that it did. And of course I want to grow and improve myself. I want to really help this planet, and hopefully help Magion again. Mary says that with time, maybe I can…so I hope that’s true.”
There was so much she hadn’t seen for so long…and it would be wonderful to get the chance again.

He wasn’t trying to make her feel bad, or think that she was doing anything wrong. She wasn’t. He just knew how difficult it was to curb enthusiasm for something. It was blinding, and sometimes all that was needed was a little nudge back on the path.
“Do you feel like you’re ready for more power to do that?” he hummed thoughtfully. He hadn’t forgotten the cupcake in front of him, but he also couldn’t ignore the call of her starseed.
“Earth is a place of healing, in many ways. Just as much as it is challenging. Helping Magion will need more than just adventure and friendship,” he said, still stoic for a moment, but a small smile reached his eyes. “But it helps.”
Without friendship and that desire to do more, moving forward towards the uncertain future would be much more difficult.
“Your pen, if I may?”

Magion’s eyes grew wide and she hesitated for just a moment, trying to figure out what was going on, but she trusted Lucien and withdrew her henshin pen, laying it on the ground beside the cupcake.
“I think I’m ready for more power, but I hadn’t realized that was even possible…I had assumed that I would just…stay like this forever. I used to be stronger. But…I’m pretty sure it was the Chaos or something on Magion that stunted me and…now I’m just…”
She shrugged, gesturing to herself. “You can really unlock my power again, Lucien? I’m…wow. I’m…excited all of the sudden…”
It was something she hadn’t even dared to hope could happen…and now?
Now strength was within her grasp…and maybe she really could work on helping her home, and not just her new home.

“Starseeds are not very good at concealing their true nature, nor good at concealing their strength. There is power within you yet to be unlocked. Or, should I say, waiting for you to grow back into it. It is only a matter of time, I think,” he nodded as he took the pen so he could adjust it as needed.
“You have done very well in regaining your strength after everything you’ve been through. I am very proud of you for your accomplishments,” Lucien said as he puffed out his chest with pride, and nudged the pen back towards her once he was done.
“I do want to request caution. With more power means you will likely be more of a target. I will do what I can to help anyone in need. Just let me know. I hope your friend, Mary, will be proud of you as well.”

“Oh, I see!” Magion took the pen back up and looked at it, her expression soft and beginning to grow excited. “It means that I’m better able to offer aid too, which is important. I’m…so very glad we were able to meet, Lucien. I hope we can hang out more often? If you would like it?”
She slipped the pen back into subspace after using it to power up, her outfit changing just slightly. Her boots getting shorter, as well as her sleeves…
It was…would have been comfortable if it wasn’t so chilly.
“Maybe I can take you to Magion? And maybe if you have anyone that would like to come you could bring them? Especially when it grows colder here! The…the area I can access is a very warm beach!”
She thumbed the sheer ruffles that peeked out from under her skirt. “I need…if you know anyone who is good at building…I want to start trying to make new boats…to try to get to other islands…”

He puffed up a bit with pride when she used her pen to power up. His memory might have been poor, but he felt as though it would make no sense for him to not be proud.
When she asked her questions, he tipped his head curiously to the side, but his expression was predominantly stoic. There was a lot she was asking, and just as much that he didn’t feel right to offer without first discussing with others.
He also didn’t think he was the most entertaining companion, although he did enjoy the opportunity to observe. His duty to Senshi seemed to reach to just that, and beyond professional interactions…? The thought of more made his heart ache painfully in his chest.
“Of the Senshi I’ve met, and those I have been told of from worlds beyond Earth, they have all revealed trouble with Chaos infecting their worlds. Is that not the case with Magion?” he asked. Given the information he’d learned, he was fairly confident he knew the answer. He couldn’t risk offering his family to vacation where Chaos reigned.
“Your enthusiasm is admirable; however, I hope you understand that I would not recommend casual travel until you have grown strong enough to rid your world of what plagues it. There will be those who come to your aid when you need it, rest assured.”

“No, you’re right. But from what I know of it it just stops me from getting to the other islands, still, I suppose that I should really start working on that.”
Which meant she had to go back, which wasn’t a bad idea…and it would be warm, that would be nice…
“Thank you! I’m glad that people will be able to help me. That means a lot. I love that…there are so many kind people on this planet. It’s nice. All of it has been so nice.”
She sighed then, thinking about how things had been on Magion, but.
They could be that way again. She would see to it. “Thank you.” It had been said a lot already but. She felt that one more was needed.

“It is always a pleasure, Ms. Magion,” Lucien nodded his head politely, and then went back to working on eating the cupcake in front of him. It would be rude to leave such a delicious treat unfinished.
He knew things often took time. One day she would get her world back, just like one day he would get his memories.
At least that was his hope.
For now, it was just one step at a time.
