Rumors of a demon intent on building an army had spread throughout the under world, and Azazel found himself curious about the instigator. Who was the man behind it all, and what was his aim? It had been some time indeed since demons had last banded together. In general, they were solitary creatures, disinclined to stand shoulder to shoulder for any reason, save perhaps ******** or fighting - one another, mind you! - and Az was surprised to learn that this mysterious demon was finding as little resistance as he was.

Normally, Azazel would have expected the solitary creatures to buck under the yoke of a more powerful demon, but it seemed that whomever he was, this stranger had worked miracles. Amusing, given the source. He sauntered through the crowd that had gathered around a single figure, setting his eyes upon what ostentatiously was yet another demon... and was surprised to find that the power level of that 'demon' was so far beyond his own.

What or who was this man, whose power dwarfed that of an ancient and exceedingly powerful demon? Az found himself... intrigued. Never before had he met a demon who could probably easily wipe the floor with him. Perhaps there was indeed a reason for his success. "Greetings," he said, his own mere presence making a space around himself. The younger demons recognized one of their elders immediately. As it should be. "I hear you're building an army."

Shaitan was indeed working on gathering an army of great renown and power. While it was rare for demon kind to band together, if anyone could whip them into shape, it would be him. He was the son of the great God of Demon's himself, Malum, and he had been born wit unwavering certainty of his destiny. He would ensure his father had the greatest army known in all the realms....

Instead of all the backstabbing and infighting, Shaitan was certain he could get the most ancient of demon's to focus their power on outside threats -- and indeed, only the foolish might believe outsiders numbers something to scoff at. The vampires in particularly were growing an exponential rate, and some of the most ancient of blood suckers were a force to reckon with on their own. No, Shaitan was a god who was disciplined, and he had a vision to build an army in his father's name.

Malum deserved nothing less.

Having stepped away from his divine realms, the god would need to step into the mortal realm to help spearhead this army. He needed to find demon's in line with his vision, and if that meant smiting the opposition as a display of truth and power, so be it. Thankfully, the power he allowed to radiate from his being was enough to keep any naysayers at bay -- for now. He suspected his future chosen Generals, Commanders, and Lieutenant's would need to handle the brunt of the trouble.

So it was, his silver eyes turned to settle upon the red-haired, blood-red demon that approached. The crowd had parted, as if this being was someone. For now, he was nothing to Shaitan, but a passing interest. Still, he smiled a fanged smile, and tilted his head as he looked Azazel over slowly. "You hear correctly, stranger," he spoke. Reaching forward, he tucked b ack a few loose strands of red-hair from the stranger's face. "Come to join?"

He wasn't afraid of this demon.

He had no reason to be.

"Join? No." Azazel was bored... one did not live for as long as he had without occasionally running out of new and exciting things to do - or in his case break - from time to time. "Lead? Perhaps. I'd like to hear more about the army of yours... and about you, yourself, before we make any decisions." In the other's eyes lay a wellspring of power, but also surprising youth.

Was this being young, who radiated such immense power? He was fascinated. "To tell the truth, I'm more interested in you than in your army." It was rare for him to encounter someone or something that he couldn't place, but there they were. It was a day of rarities, he supposed. "Why do I not know your name? Why is not being uttered from the lips of all those gathered here?"

He did not seem bothered by the fact that the stranger had reached out and practically stroked his hair. For a demon, that might have been a display of power; he could touch Azazel without fear of retribution. That was what such a ploy meant, in the general rabble of demons. He doubted that this other was unaware. Nor did Az assume himself a match for this unknown entity. Demon or not, he made the ancient demon seem like a young sprout, for all the youth he could sense in him.
