Tianyi was not used to having the freedom to...wander. Certainly not to do so by himself. He hadn't been restricted per se, but he was always accompanied before....everything, and then after...
Better not to dwell on that. Better to instead think about how he could do that now, and he could do it as Tianyi, because no one was going to take that from him. And sure, this was a new place, and it was apparently very dangerous, but the dangers were...different. Handleable, probably. Not that he'd ever had much occasion to use his magic before, but....he would figure it out! For sure.
The strange feeling of Chaos in his senses itched, but it was....almost familiar. Perhaps because he had never known a world without its presence. But this felt...more direct. Pinpoints, of a sort, though more diffuse than a direct location--but the point was that he could sort of wander towards it out of curiosity. It would be good for him to get the lay of things, wouldn't it?
There were supposed to be monsters called youma that were particularly dangerous, but...when he turned a corner and his eyes fell on a little, fuzzy creature with multiple fluffy tails and the cutest little pointed ears, he gasped. Its colors were vibrant, almost like the "sunset" he'd witnessed for the first time since coming to Earth, and it seemed...well, it wasn't jumping at him, so...
He lowered himself down and extended a hand in greeting, palm up.
"Hello there," he said, lightly. "You look like you could be friendly."

One trinket changed his appearance, and another made his power level seem not as strong.
Kamacite knew he could find other ways to lurk around corners than becoming a small kitsune, but even if his paws became filthy, the less attention he received, the better. People often looked right over him, and he could squeeze through holes and openings that he wouldn’t have been able to otherwise.
For a moment, he thought about how different his life would have been if he’d slipped through the gate instead of his ankle getting caught--
Not that it mattered any more. Those he cared about were long gone, and those who were still physically close were at a distance Kamacite no longer felt as though he could reach.
His heart ached, broken and unable to properly heal. Maybe that was why he didn’t notice the strange Senshi until they were much too close.
And when he did, Kamacite froze, eyes wide as he stared up at the strange Senshi with their palm out to greet him. His heart was racing, even though he knew he could just teleport away if it was too dangerous, but he was upset with himself for being caught off guard.
He didn’t move. Not to run. Not to approach. He just stared curiously up at the Senshi, his many tails awkwardly trying to wrap around himself and end up looking like he was just trying to cocoon himself in his own fur.

Oh. The poor creature seemed skittish and shy. Well, that made Tianyi just that much more determined to see if he could befriend it. So, he lowered himself down, sitting on the ground with his legs tucked under him, and kept his hand extended.
"It's okay," he said, gently. "I promise, I don't want to hurt you." Everyone had made youma sound so scary, and he supposed this must be one, because it felt strange and Chaotic, but this was....just a little creature that seemed far more scared of him than Tianyi would ever need to be of it.
"Did someone else hurt you? Or scare you? I'm sorry, if they did." Maybe that was an assumption. But Tianyi certainly knew why...well. If the little creature had been hurt and that was why it seemed to want to bury itself in its own tails, that was....that would make a lot of sense, to Tianyi.

Kamacite drew back a couple tiny steps when the strange senshi moved closer to him. Were they really not afraid of youma? Didn’t they know what youma could do?
He hesitated, still uncertain. He could leave. He could just dart away. But it was strange that they would be so determined to… what? Befriend him?
Had he been hurt…? Had he been scared…?
Kamacite’s heart felt heavy. There was a lot more to just physical hurt that wounded him deeply. But to take sympathy from a senshi of the White Moon?
“Have you never seen a youma before?” Kamacite asked, as though he wasn’t sure what expression his face made when he grimaced at the squeakiness of his voice. He certainly sounded like a small animal.
“You’re not from Earth,” he surmised, although given the senshi’s unique features, he didn’t think it was that big of a jump in his guess.

Tianyi was not expecting the little creature to speak, and he definitely started a little when it did. But it didn't seem hostile, so that was probably okay?
"I haven't, no," Tianyi said, honestly. "You're right that I'm not from here. Is it that obvious," he laughed, softly. Probably it was. Earth humans didn't seem to have ears or tails or wings like his. And his lack of understanding about things that probably seemed basic to people that lived here was also...well, a tell that he did not.
Or had not. He did now. Since it wasn't like he could go home.
"I probably seem very stupid, to you," he said. But apparently this was one of the youma that could talk, which would make it easier to...reason with it? Do...whatever he thought he was doing. Tianyi wasn't sure.
