Name: Celestine Palladino: True Name: Solarocco je Sellecerlios

Nickname: Celes

Gender/Pronoun: Male, He/Him

Age: 34 (Actual: 1034)

Birthday: Feb. 27th

Sign: Pieces

Gemstone: Amethyst

Blood Type: O+

Fav. Food: Couscous cooked with Chicken Broth, then sautéed with Onions

Hated Food: Dried Seaweed Sheets

School/Occupation: None, Will eventually become an elementary school crossing guard though.

Hobbies:
Web Comics: Upon arriving in this world, Celestine’s first gift was a phone. And the second gift was the fact that it had a pre-logged in account of several different Webcomic accounts. Tappy Toons, Lezhin, Tapas, you name it, it was logged in there. When caught with nothing to do or waiting, he binge reads as many as he can, finding the isekai ones surprisingly relatable. Though he’s not yet had the opportunity to go to one, he fully plans on attending a ‘convention’ to meet some of these web toon artists, and maybe find more groups that enjoy the fandom as much as he does.

Tai Chi and Yoga: Previously on his world, there was a massive focus on inner balance and finding harmony with the world and waves around them, intertwining it with their combat styles and standard exercising routines. While Tai Chi and Yoga aren’t exactly the same, the similarities are enough that when Celestine learns of it, he immediately takes to it. Originally it started with tutorial videos online. As his confidence grew, he found himself going out to parks to try outside and ultimately joined free YMCA groups to practice among other people.

Fountain Dipping: Being in a land-locked place, there aren't many opportunities to go diving like he once did on his home world. There’s no pearl diving in Destiny City without an ocean! But there are many, many fountains… And many of them have shiny coins in the bottom of them. Late at night, if left to his own devices, Celestine will go and find the biggest fountains/fake rivers and the like he can, and just go fishing for them. It’s not deep diving like he’s used to, but it is satisfying to get the wet, shiny coins from the bottom. While he doesn’t take most of the money, if a coin is particularly glimmery or seems a little rare/unique, he’ll pocket it, then leave the mounds of collected coins piled up neatly on one side. He has been caught numerous times so far, and scurries off, pockets jingling and soaking wet.

Virtues:
Modest – Despite once upon a time being the ruler of a nation, Celestine had always been a humble man. He enjoys emphasizing the value of a group effort, or how his allies and team members always contributed more than they think. Oftentimes he pushes his own accomplishments to the side in order to push other people up. Confidence and trust between individuals is boosted best with praise, in his mind.

Gentle – Having once been a family man, Celestine had any hard rigidness and seriousness eased out of him. He approaches all situations and actions with patience and kindness, wanting those he interacts with to know he means them no harm. Softspoken doesn’t describe him well, but he does come off as a harmless father-like figure more than anything else.

Charming -- Royalty on Levantes were trained from a young age to be charismatic and righteous, and Celestine was no different. “Prince Charming” was his title for the longest of times, where he would have people swooning, and willing to follow him wherever he went. Luckily for them, he was always a kind soul and a leader who’s words tried to have the people’s best interests in mind. When he does have a goal in mind, he can flatter and rizz up people to the best of degrees.

Flaws:
Self-sacrificing -- The responsibility of a world on his shoulders meant that there was always something else that would have to come first. Everything he does he likes to slap on the title of ‘for the greater good’, even when it is to the detriment of his own inner worth. His needs will often be put last, his thoughts and opinions are kept to himself, even when he knows there are better options. His old government hated that for him, for what is a ruler who cares not for themselves now and then? Pathetic in their eyes.

Overprotective -- Celestine has lost everything he ever loved and cared for, and that means he treasures everyone he comes to know immediately. He finds himself ignoring people’s actual physical strength and powers in order to be the ‘knight in shining armor’ that he imagines people needing. It’s an anxious compulsion to immediately step in the moment something ‘bad’ seems to be happening even when he knows people can stick up for themselves. Even before the end of his planet, he was scolded by his family for not allowing people to spread their wings and be the people they can be, and it only got worse with time.

Pessimistic – The worst has happened to him before, and Celestine is certain it will happen again. Hope is a rarity in Celestine’s life, and he is always preparing for the worst case scenario. It’s hard to get him to actually focus on the bright side of any situation, especially when it involves himself specifically. Even when moments are supposed to be happy, in the back of his mind none of this happiness will last, and he often allows those emotions to be seen on his face, leading to people thinking he’s unhappy at any given moment. Misunderstandings are frequent, and he has trouble explaining just how fleeting he feels these moments are, which results in even MORE misunderstandings to the point where he may accidentally make people think he no longer is interested in them.

Senshi: Deep Space Sailor Levantes, Senshi of Chains

Uniform Color:
Main Color: #3f62c0
Secondary Color: #091545

Inspiration: Spectre from Food Fantasy. Mainly chain inspo and the see-through skin inspo

Uniform:

Reference pictures may be used in place of descriptions, but please be prepared to give extra detail if your artist requires it!

***NOTE** When I say chainmail, I do mean chainmail links. However, the material would be either glass like or pearlescent, so it does not look like metal. It is purely decorative and not heavy at all. And cannot be used as a weapon and is fragile so it snaps without injury. Think cheap jewelry for kids

Tiara -- chainmail tiara, though pearlescent, so it doesn’t look like metal.
Choker -- Like This
Collar -- somewhat torn color, like the inspiration image.
Bodice -- Tight and torn in places. We can work together on this one. I’m thinking maybe mesh?
Chest Bow -- dangling bits of chain?
Brooch -- inspo from this: Chainmail Brooch
Sleeves -- no sleeves
Gloves -- Something like this: Hand Gard + Rings
Buttbow – torn fabric sash around hips
Bottoms -- Tight, men’s wetsuit bottoms
Shoes -- nearly bare feet, but with similar accessories as the hands
Accessories – anywhere we can add chains, like body chains or the like, I’d love it!

Attacks:

Sailor Scout Attack: Levantes Chains of Restriction

Levantes spreads out his fingers wide and 5 magical chains burst out from his fingertips. The chains are ethereal and light weight. They wrap around their target’s body and with it, he can pull them closer to him. However, as soon as the chains are retracted in, they dissipate. Once they find the target, as long as he doesn’t attempt to retract them closer like a fishing line, they are chained down in place for 10 seconds. A first stage character would have a hard time breaking free, a second stage character can break free after a few moments of struggle, and an Eternal can smash the chains with no issue.

He can use this attack 3 times.

Super Sailor Scout Attack: Levantes Chains of Burden

Levantes spreads his fingers on both hands wide and 10 magical chains burst out from his fingertips. They wrap around their target’s body and with it, he can pull them closer to him. However, as soon as the chains are retracted in, they dissipate. Once they find the target, as long as he doesn’t attempt to retract them closer like a fishing line, they are chained down in place for 10 seconds.

As the chains hold their target, the target can begin to feel the heavy weight of whatever has been eating at them. If it triggers any sort of guilty feeling or regret, it will begin to bubble up to the surface of their mind and occupy their thoughts for the amount of time they are held.

A first and second stage character cannot break the chains, and a third stage character can only break free if they are willing to hurt themselves in the process. Players can choose to take lasting damage in the form of bruising and welts as a result of struggling.

This attack can only be used twice.

Eternal Sailor Attack: Levantes Chain of Command

Levantes calls out his attack and a dome of ghostly chains arise around him in a 15ft diameter cage. The chains do not create a solid barrier, but all allies within the dome can be affected by his magic. Ethereal chains will help raise his fallen comrades and he can choose anyone within radius and heal any minor or moderate damage, up to player discretion. Major injuries are stabilized though not fully healed. In exchange, he cannot move from his spot during the 20 second duration that is needed to heal. The chains do not bind or hold in place; they only stabilize the target and can be brushed off or fall off when they are fully healed. This magic can be used once.

Deep Space Senshi:

Physical Features:

Skin: See-through to the skeleton/Nerve system, much like some deep sea marine life. If that doesn’t work, then skin like the reference above of spectra, where the internal space near his chest is a lighter, more vibrant color, then it spreads out to be a deeper blue at the furthest edges, in this case, just the hair line, elbow down, and knee down. He does NOT have gills, but breathes through his skin like a sea angel, but cannot do so on earth due to the change in composition.
Hair: The texture of his hair is more like that of the inklings/octolings of Splatoon It’s more of tentacle-like thick pieces than simply hair, but it does not give any extra benefits.
Hands: Has webbed fingers, made of a transparent membrane. They don’t work very well on Earth as the water is very heavy here.

Backstory/History

Celestine was born to the King and Queen of the Mighty Kingdom of Sellecernes on the planet known as Levantes. The kingdom was built mostly underwater, within massive sub-aquatic caves that protected them from the harmful starlight above.

This maritime kingdom dealt with trade between their planet and the next, focusing mainly on exportation of unique and delicious seafood, as well as mining the underwater caverns that were filled to the brim with precious metals and gems. Their most notable export was beautiful chains, in all forms. From jewelry to adorn loved ones, to chain-linked fences that could withstand any storm’s might, to chains and cuffs to hold back society’s most fearsome villains. The chains made from the material on Levantes were stronger than any others in the region.

He was *not* a senshi prince of any capacity, just a standard prince to a kingdom.

Growing up, he loved and adored his homeland. There was no major strife in his world, trade was abundant, and everything was happy and going well. They even dipped their toes into space exploration on giant ships that looked very close to modern-day sea-faring vessels.

At the age of 14, Celestine awoke to his Senshi powers, and was given the responsibility to not only be the representative of the kingdom on his planet, but the Ambassador of Levantes to all of his fellow star system members and those beyond.

Everything was Peaceful, and Celestine grew up to be a wise and noble leader in his own right, eventually marrying someone from a nearby star, and becoming a father to several children. The first child was born on the mother's star, as was tradition to ensure their soul was bound to their mother's planet, the others were all born healthily on Levantes with not a single issue in sight. The Eldest of them all would be sent away to the Mother's Planet, for education and to become an Ambassador in their own right.

Upon ascending the throne, his beloved partner convinced him to allow trade from a planet that was rather unknown. It was as if they popped out of nowhere and suddenly had plenty of resources to spare. The most fascinating of which was the machinery they possessed. It ran on something strange, an organic oil that was processed from deep inside of the other planet’s core, and it was transported easily.

Celestine welcomed the trade with open arms, and while they had no problems with their fortunes before on Levantes, they began to THRIVE under this new world of industry.

Things would not go well forever, unfortunately. As the years passed a dark sludge, named the malichor, began clinging to the oceans and sealife, a byproduct of the new industry they had not foreseen happening. It smothered the life out of everything it touched, turning their organs black as coal, and blackened bile to spewing up from their throats. To combat this, a wave of ‘cleaner droids’ developed, ones that would not only help clean their beloved oceans, but also convert the malichor and pollution in the ocean into a ‘harmless’ gas and release it into the air above, far from their ocean home.

The gas became clouds, heavy with rain that filled the skies above the seas. And when the rain returned to the ocean once more, so too came a deep, unsettling sickness. It came slowly at first, creeping in with paranoia among the masses, and fear settling in the hearts of those in the most shallow of waters. Rumors of large, black, oozing creatures just on the edge of your vision quickly filtered down to the palace and its military, though upon further investigation, there was nothing to be seen. Whatever they were seeing, it frightened the smallfolk, and it seeped down further to the depths, from the shallows to the deepest of caves.

Neighbors began to fight neighbors, accusations of hiding these foul beasts of darkness lead to one murder after another, all in the name of ‘self defense’ against the invasive darkness that they would claim seeped out from their very floorboards. No one could prove the existence of such creatures, not a trace could be seen. And when the rumors began to spread within the capital’s walls, another attempt to fix things was made by Celestine and his men.

For each person who saw the monster, they would be quarantined and studied. Every brilliant mind on the planet struggled to make sense of what this strange hallucination was. What could have triggered it? What caused even the most healthy of young folk to suddenly gain sunken eyes and panicked, shrill screams of accusations against their fellow man to spill from their lips?

One particular doctor found something odd. From within their transparent skin, against their very lungs, that same dark malichor that the droids had thought to once have eliminated was back. Different, but thick, sticky like tar that slowly turned even the brightest of veins in their bodies from the original bluish glow to nothing.

In a panic, the doctor rushed forward with the results, having the young king and his family quarantined as well to prevent their own infection. But this contaminate penetrated everything. The very water they breathed poisoned them. Another attempt with the droids was made. If it could purify their waters once, then it could surely do it again!

And yet whatever this malichor, this pollutant was transformed into something worse. The hallucinations that everyone once saw slowly began to morph the people there. Not into beasts or youma, but the bile and sludge began to ooze from every pore. The weakest of them all slowly became nothing but masses of muck and debris, crying out in pain as the corruption took over their bodies.

The droids found these creatures to be the epitome of what they needed to ‘cleanse’ from this world to restore its natural state. Once loyal and clear with their commands, the AI that drove them pushed forward with its prime command ‘clean the kingdom and protect the king.’.

Not a single malichor infested soul was spared from this ‘cleanup effort’. Sludged ones screamed as the droids attempted to swallow them whole, dispersing their bodies into the air just as they had done to the initial malichor before. And that same gas rained down again, making the hallucinations upon the planet all the worse.

It didn’t take long for the entire planet to murder one another… And soon, only the palace itself seemed to be a safe haven. For a small while, they were able to leave peacefully within the bubbled palace grounds, taking in refugees who came in after a thorough cleansing period. All seemed well, until the youngest princess of the kingdom, Celestine’s tiniest daughter, began to cough up that malichor.

A whirlwind of action, frantic research, and all sorts of remedies from near and far were pushed into saving the child. Neighboring stars even tried their cures to help, but soon they too abandoned Levantes as each time they breathed in the water or air, they too would become infected and be banished from their homes to prevent its spread. The rogue droids, detecting the presence of the malichor inside of the palace, transformed and invigorated themselves, breaking through that protective wall and slaughtered all who opposed them. Anyone who stood in their way, even those who shared the king’s own blood would not be spared. Nothing would stop them from fulfilling their objective, to protect the king and clear the malichor.

Soon, Celestine was alone. His children, gone, his partner, gone, all taken by the malichor in one way or another.

Those loyal AI droids took their king, who seemed immune from the malichor that claimed all others, deep into the innermost recesses of the palace caves, forcing him to eat and drink. They would not let this king die, or allow for him to rest, though he did not care. All he loved was gone, and all that kept him here were these endless stream of bots that kept him chained to his inner throne, and gave him nonstop updates that no-clean life was detected.

Even after a thousand years, day after day it remained the same, with the sludge slowly closing in on him inch by inch… Until one day, a spark from some distant planet had his long closed eyes finally open once more, and he found himself pulled from the muck around him and off his planet.
