xxxJoshua Sefu Nazari was born in Mombasa, Kenya to pureblood magical parents Akida and Niara Nazari. He was given the name Sefu and the Christian name Joshua, though he prefers to go by his Swahili name, Sefu. He was quite the curious child, picking up and examining everything he could get his hands on. At a young age, he began taking things apart to study them and was sometimes able to put them back together. Both his parents worked in the magical world, with his father being a Potioneer and his mother a Herbologist. Thanks to his parents, he developed a love for nature at a young age and quickly became well known in their community for adopted injured and abandoned animals, then nursing them back to health. He had his first display of magic at eight when he healed a wild dog that had been injured by a motor vehicle. When he turned eleven, he was visited by the Dream Messenger who left him his carved stone, which he kept close to himself at all times.

xxxUpon arriving at Uagadou, Sefu was sorted into Gazelle house and quickly grew accustomed to the class schedule. He enjoyed learning all he could and began showing a commanding dominance over Transfiguration.
xxxGoing into his second year, Sefu joined the Nature club and the History club, both of which were topics he quite enjoyed. He befriended lots of his class mates and found his circle of friends growing daily.
xxxSelecting electives in third year, he tried his mother's favored topic of herbology, though he didn't enjoy the plant side of things much. He entertained the idea of Quidditch, but it would interfere too much with his studies, of which he preferred.
xxxIn fourth year, he briefly dated a classmate named Nafusi, but once again, dating proved to interfere with his studies. Since she didn't enjoy being disregarded in favor of books, they separated after only about a month.
xxxUpon entering fifth year, Sefu started his studies in Self-Transfiguration. With his mastery of Transfiguration thus far, he had no trouble completing his transformation, taking the form of a mongoose. Also during fifth year, he was named Prefect and took on duties of the role.
xxxDropping a few classes going into sixth year alleviated some of the study constraints on him and let him focus more time on other things. He tried dating again, this time a classmate named Jamala. They shared many interests, including history, of which Sefu had taken the club head title.
xxxIn order to study for their final tests, Sefu and Jamala put their relationship on hold, but still saw each other frequently during the year. Sefu was named Head Student, so he had further duties to attend to. Still, he managed to earn high marks in all the tests he had before him.

xxxAfter graduation, Sefu returned home to Kenya and Jamala to Malawi, which made it harder for them to continue dating. They spoke about moving in together, but neither wanted to leave their family. Since neither were willing to leave their families, the two split a year after graduation. Sefu had gotten a job working with animals, primarily tending to injured magical creatures. While working for the animal rehabilitation clinic, he met a young woman named Akira and the two of them started dating. She was a Japanese witch working with the clinic and a recent transplant to Kenya.
xxxSefu and Yumiko shared many loves, including a love of history, both Muggle and Magical. After a year of dating, the two moved in together. She even passed the tests placed forward by Sefu's parents and it looked like the two would marry. However, Yumiko was struck with a terrible disease and passed away shortly after. Brokenhearted, Sefu quit his job at the clinic and moved back home with his parents. However, his year was only going to get worse. A few months later, both of his parents died in an accident involving an obscurus. With the love of his life and his parents dead, Sefu decided he could no longer stay in Kenya. He traveled around Africa for a few years, working odd jobs here and there, living the life of a subsistence traveler. While in Marrakesh, he learned from a British wizard that there was an opening at Hogwarts teaching History. And with that, he emigrated to Britain, finding a small apartment in Edinburgh that suited his needs.
