Greeting Fellow Guild Members,
2025 is suddenly upon us and I ask the question what everyone is doing for Cosplay and convention plans for the new year.
My plans are pretty simple if I have the money, I would like to go to Jafax in Grand Rapids and to Youmacon in Downtown Detroit. Both Conventions in Michigan. As for Cosplays I will either wear an old one or an Anime themed T-Shirt.
Please let us know what your plans are for this year.

Con Plans So most of plans are for smaller events this year. There's a chance that I move this year. My lease is up in July and we know that the rent will be raised, if Joann's also closes (We won't know till mid-March) then I need a new job. May as well move. It'll be either Northern Idaho, Washington, Oregon, or Utah is our top choices. For now the plans are: Japan Matsuri (Cultural Event)- Salt Lake City, UT- May: Masked Fighter/Reiki Genkai (YYH) RetroX- Idaho Falls, ID- June: Yor (SpyxFamily), Poppuri (HM 64), and ??? Mystic Realms Ren Faire- Pocatello, ID-June Magic Valley Comic Con- Twin Falls, ID- August? (If there's a year 2): Cinderella (50s Movie) and ??? Boise Comic Arts Festival- Boise, ID August: Rapunzel/Flynn (Tangled) and ??? Darkness Con: Snake River- Pocatello, ID: Shinobu Kochi (Demon Slayer), Witch Costume (OC), Anna (Shaman King), Yukina (YYH), and Kororo (Shaman King). That being said. I'm going to try for one more event and here's what I may do: Ookii Sora Con- Helena, MT- Aug/Jul Hachi Con- Sandy, UT- Aug FanX- Salt Lake City, UT- Sept. Cosplay Plans: Need To Finish Medieval Clothing- Both my Hubbs and I. Princess Daisy/Luigi- Mostly done, need to finish the wig and remake accessories. Competition+Photoshoot. Yor/Loid Forger (SpyxFamily): Two outfits in the process for Yor and we'll be buying Loid's. Competition. Cinderella/Fairy Godmother (Disney's animated Cinderella): Mostly done other than wigs and accessories. Need it done for 2026. Need for competition this year. Rapunzel/Eugene (Tangled): Mostly in pieces at the moment, but I have the fabric. Masked Fighter Genkai (Yu Yu Hakusho): just need the mask finished. Shinobu Kochi (Demon Slayer): Accessories in progress, need to work on outfit. Competition+Group Photoshoot. Eisen (Frieren): Planning stage, need it for a group project Halloween outfits: Have Fabric Anna (Shaman King): Dress is almost done. Yamuraiha (Magi): Working on outfit for now. (Spare Competition outfit) Various side projects. Cosplay Plans Hope to Finish/Start: Renge (OHSHC!): Just need to make the bow and collar. Grey (Black Clover): Pants in pieces, but have the fabric. Yukina (YYH): Kimono is done. Tsunade (Naruto): Revamping Naruto and Hinata (Boruto): A good chunk is done. Hinata (Naruto Shippuden): Clothing done, just need wig and accessories. Itachi/Sasori/Deidara (Naruto): just need wigs and accessories. Snow Queen Elsa (Frozen): Need to make lining and lining. Cape piece, wig, accessories. Snow White (Disney's Snow White): I have fabric for bodice. Roy Mustang/Risa Hawkeye (FMA): I'd like to make mock up at least. Ichigo and Orihime Shinigami outfits (Bleach): I have hakama material to dye. Twilight Princess Zelda: Underdress is done, plan on maying her over layer and working on embroidery. Sailor Jupiter, Venus, Mercury, and Moon (Sailor Moon): Various parts in progress. Naofumi/Raptalia (Rising of a Shield Hero): Have a mostly done shield and some patterns, working on gathering fabric.

smithers456 Very ambitious con schedule and Cosplay Outfit making plans as usual. I have to see photos of the Sailor Scouts Cosplays. So, you are planning on moving again. How are you going to fit that in. Good luck apartment and or house hunting. So it looks like your guy is going to be wearing more Cosplay outfits than usual. Here is a question for you. What's your hubbys favorite Anime series. As I get the scouts done I'll post stuff. As far as the moving part. It will be the end of June for moving if we do. There's two reason we may move, one is increased rent the other is for work. If we move because of rent we'll stay in the same area. If it's for work we're moving all together. Possible to a different state. Yes. Some was forced one him, some he volunteered for, and one he picked himself. He likes Isekai a lot. His favorite is Reincarnated as a Slime, but he likes Jobless Reincarnate as well.

I'll Be attending UBcon and Anime North this year, as well as some smaller ones that pop up during the year. Reapercon and Kami Con are possibilities. This year I'll be moving and travelling quite a bit. I'll be helping develop some TTRPGs this year, most notably Spare Parts and Ithya. I'll be hosting demos of Spare Parts, which is a cyberpunk TTRPG. I'll also be selling some Ithya merch and dice sets at my table if it's allowed. I also may be starting a small Con-Business. We're not 100% on what my husband and I will do yet. We were thinking of doing a Kawaii Bead stand, but if Joann's does go out of business I may buy a lot of cosplay related fabrics and then sell them so the cosplay community will have access for a bit longer to the fabric.

gaia_star Calgary Expo POW! Parade Of Wonders: Maybe? I actually don’t take the day off for this. I usually go, if I happen to have the day off. I’m also unsure of what cosplay to wear for it. Weather is usually cold during parade, but then warms up afterwards. >.<
gaia_star Otafest: It’ll be my 15th year attending, but my first year as a staff member. I’m the new Cosplay Meetups Coordinator. I plan to host Fairy Tail, Bleach, and Kingdom Hearts cosplay meetups. My cosplay plans are Natsu in his X791 outfit (Fairy Tail), Toshiro (pre-Bleach TYBW), and KH1 Riku.
gaia_star Anime Expo: This is going to be another anime con scratched off my bucket list of cons to attend. I already know 2 out of 4 cosplays to wear, which are Mammon in his Everyday Clothes attire (Obey Me!) and KH2 Riku. As for the other 2 cosplays, I have a list of cosplays to choose from, which includes Camellia Gakupo (Vocaloid), female Ardyn (FFXV), Kisuke in his shopkeeper attire (Bleach), and Shikamaru (Naruto). The remaining 2 cosplays will be based on cosplay meetups happening at AX.

This year I'm doing Anime Milwaukee - Milwaukee, WI Karoshi Con - DeKalb, IL Anime Central - Rosemont, IL Kitsune Kon - Green Bay, WI Anime Magic - Rosemont, IL I usually do Colossalcon North in the Wisconsin Dells, but I might have to cut it this year for cost reasons. u.u Cosplans are very in the air right now. My lineup for AMKE includes King Boo from the Mario series, Ryunouske Akutagawa from Bungou Stray Dogs, Skwisgaar Swkigelf from Metalocalypse, Silver the hedgehog from the Sonic series, and Jyushimatsu Matsuno from Osomatsu-san. Definitely bringing a Fire Emblem to ACEN, just haven't decided which one. I want to bring back my Tachigami cosplay from Okami, but tbd if that is actually gonna happen. May or may not cosplay some of the other Matsuno brothers too since we're getting a new season of that in July that I'm very excited about. :3

My first con of the year already passed, Anime Los Angeles in early January. Right now I think the only other con I'm going to is Another Furry Con in September. No cosplays this year, though I will be working on a couple for ALA next January -- Into the Spider-Verse Peter B Parker and some character from Naruto I have yet to decide on. (probably Kabuto or Konan)

holstaurs My first con of the year already passed, Anime Los Angeles in early January. Right now I think the only other con I'm going to is Another Furry Con in September. No cosplays this year, though I will be working on a couple for ALA next January -- Into the Spider-Verse Peter B Parker and some character from Naruto I have yet to decide on. (probably Kabuto or Konan) I've done Konan before, if you decide to go that route, tell me. My costume is pretty old now, but I know what I'd do to make it better if I was to redo it again.

The cons I'm planning on going to this year are Naka Kon, Momo Con, Nebkon Abridged, Anime Fest Wichita, Nebkon, and Okie Con. Maybe go to a couple local conventions.
Though I'm planning on cosplaying as Unohana from Bleach, doing a nurse Power from CSM, doing a rave version of Mitsuri and Shinobu from Demon Slayer, and the one I'm looking forward to most is doing Saber Alter (Altria) from FGO. I'm also reviving my Summer Rose (RWBY) cosplay.

Depending on who wants to go with me, maybe CPAC in NJ... but most definitely I'll go to AnimeNYC this year. I dont really cosplay though. I usually wear apparel designed by artists and then hope that those same artists are boothing so I can say hi to them wearing their stuff :]
