I'm really excited to see everyones finished designs for the first challenge! We have so many new designers I just can't wait to get a feel for everyones style!

Im also so very excited to see everyones designs! Im hoping to make it farther this time around than I did last time xD
Not gonna lie, I was a tad worried about my entry xD I was very much overthinking the colors, worried that having other colors would instantly put me out round one, but maybe I worried a bit too much

Also, just a small side note as well as a friendly reminder, but the current challenge isnt just about the color scheme, but also about dressing your model to show one of your favorite activities smile
Only mentioning it since last challenge I got eliminated due to adding one to many extras to my models hair and got eliminated for it, and I remember someone saying they wish they caught it sooner so I could have time to change before judging xD just trying to look out for everyone, especially the new ones! <3

As a newbie to the guild, it certainly is intimidating. It seems like such a large competition, and to be honest, some of the instructions and roles are unclear. For example, I have no idea what the mentors actually do. Do they just provide feedback at the end of each round alongside the judges? What kind of interaction can we expect with other participants? Can we only submit with the model we were accepted with? And if challenges are usually posted on Sunday and due the following Friday, where are us full-time weekday workers supposed to find the time? gonk
I'm sure a lot of it will make sense in due time, but this first round is definitely a whirlwind.
It's also so surprising to hear that there are a lot of new faces this time around. How active has the guild been in the past with existing members?

I ended up reworking my look like three times because I was worried that there were too many places that had white in the outfit and I didn't want to be docked for it being read as more tritone than duotone emotion_facepalm

Oh, trust me, I am still very new to the guild myself. This is only my second attempt in the Cycle. Last Cycle I got eliminated in a challenge for adding too much to my models hair, but it was a lesson learned! From my experience, here is usually how the challenges go: The challenge is posted and the time frame is given for entries. During the current challenge, you can reach out for a mentor for assistance, or even ask one of us here in designer chat for advice! Please don't be afraid to do so, everyone here from my experience is super sweet and very helpful <3 At the end of each round, all the judges will post feedback about the pro's and con's of your design :3 Yes, you can only submit entries with the model you won your audition with. Like myself, I won my audition with Kimber, so I can only use Kimber as my model. I felt this myself with the time frames! Most times I managed to squeeze in an hour after work to make it in time for the submission date, and it helped that most weeks I had Thursdays and Fridays off, so it was definetly a close call sometimes xD Honestly, from what i've seen, the guild is pretty active with all its members! You see the most activity during the Cycles and the submissions, but there are plenty of other challenges to do where I catch long time members posting <3 Welcome to the Guild, btw! But I really wanted to bring out Kimbers hair, with its pretty crimson color, so red and teal was the best way to go. Hopefully the judges have pity on us for round 1 sweatdrop

Hi. Mentor here answering your mentor question! We can provide you feedback before you submit your entry to the judges.
Questions on your style, motif, creativity, and description.
Let's say you don't think the entry your working on fits the prompt, or if you feel something is off with your style, it could help having a second pair of eyes take a look at it.
If your having trouble writing your description and want someone to look over it, I can do that and point out what your missing or what you should leave out.
I was in two cycles. One I made it to week 6, the other one I got second place in the cycle so I have a good idea what the judges look at when judging.
You may not need us at all throughout the cycle and that's okay, we are just extra moral support for you guys.
