By now Spaskaya’s face wasn’t swollen anymore, only the bruising remained and at this point, it was that ugly greenish yellow that she could hide easily under makeup. That on top of the reassurance she could call for Aaru to help if she needed it made the decision to go out again tonight easier. She needed to get better at this, anything to prepare and practice for when she would take René out. It had to be perfect, had to be just right because she wanted him to suffer before she finished him off.

There were other things on her mind besides the end of that a*****e of a Frenchman that left her at the altar though. Spasskaya, the wonder, needed a lot of work done and she had started to get materials delivered to her shop to bring there. First, she could start small by bagging up all the broken debris and sorting it then she could start fixing the puzzle of broken tiles until the clockface on the floor of the main hall was whole again.

These thoughts and more wandered through her head as she patrolled the alleys, keeping her head down and her senses sharp as she went. Something pricked at the edge of her senses, almost out of her awareness as soon as she noticed it. This whole thing was hard to get the hang of still either because she didn’t really believe in the magic or because she didn’t care enough about what others did as long as it didn’t bother her or her goals.

—-----------------------------------------

Polarite was wandering the city looking for trouble to get in, while keeping an eye on his inner sense of Saleeite. Though he’d never say so out loud, he worried about her being out by herself. Still, he was close enough for her to call if she needed him. Or, he supposed, vice versa.

This whole negaverse agent thing was still new, but he felt like he was figuring things out fairly well. He crossed the opening of an alleyway and spied what looked like a Knight… if he was right in what he remembered being told. “Hello, little Page,” he guessed at their rank, really, judging purely based on looks. “What are you doing out here all alone?”

—---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That gross feeling of chaos got closer and closer, and then the first thing out of that giant’s mouth had her glaring at him. It wasn’t as if she was that short, but she didn’t like the tone and how it seemed to belittle her. Looking at him, really sizing him up, she could take him if it came to it. There wasn’t a lot of hair to grab to bring them down to her level but she didn’t have to fight fair to get the giant on his knees.

Tapping her heel as she tightened her grip on the large pendulum she was carrying at her side, she huffed. “Who said I was out here all alone? You’re alone too, just because you’re a big guy doesn’t mean you can talk to me like that.” Her words were cold, sharp, and clipped as she spoke, leaving no room for the man’s imagination to think she was anything but pissed.

—-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Spunky little thing, he thought to himself as he slipped his hands into his coat pockets. At her first question, he looked to the left. Then to the right. Peered behind her, then behind himself. “Sure looks like you’re here all alone,” he said with a shrug of one shoulder. “Can, can’t, whatever. I did talk to you like that.” By her tone, he could tell she was already angry but that was fine with him. Maybe the fight would be worth it. He hadn’t found anyone else to fight tonight, and he’d already drained quite a few civilians of their energy.

He eyed the pendulum she carried, knowing he’d have to be wary of its reach. His own weapon left…quite a bit to be desired at this point and was only worth summoning to use as a distraction. It was still humiliating. He hoped his next weapon was something better. “So. Gonna do something about it?” He gave her a taunting grin, wanting her to make the first move.

—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It wasn’t hard to reach out to Aaru, just in case, since they were probably out as well but for now, she was more than annoyed to get things started. Three minutes would be enough she figured, at least enough to get some hits in just in case. They didn’t seem like all that bad of news like the other tall guy with the long hair. She’d kicked him pretty hard in the jewels then after it all so tonight she needed to keep an eye on anyone else.

“Мудак.” Huffing as she cursed a bit, she channeled that bit of power from her wonder. Nothing ever seemed different from her point of view but she knew they’d have a hell of a time figuring out her moves unless they weren’t as much of an idiot as they looked like.

Moving forward as she seemed to glitch slightly, she tossed her pendulum from one hand to the other before swinging right for their side.

—-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Polarite tensed as she moved forward, frowning as she seemed to glitch. What the hell was that? It didn’t matter; it just meant he needed to keep a better eye on her. This would be an interesting battle, though, if she continued to glitch like that. Part of him wondered how Knights got such power and if it were possible to get one for himself. He watched her face while tracking the movement of her pendulum, tossing an arm out to block the swing she made with it. As he blocked with that arm, his other shot out aiming for the Knight’s face. Maybe a broken nose would end this fight quickly. He’d been wondering what a starseed felt like…

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The call he received from Spass had him stop in his tracks. He was on his way home, but it seems like he was needed, so he turned around and started to make his way towards the direction she was in. He wasn't too far but far enough that he was just now able to sense her signature along with the chaos that was nearby. Seemed like they were the same level so while he was sure Spass could handle herself, he figured she wouldn't have called for him if she was able to take the agent on. When he was close enough, he saw that the smaller woman was about to take on a giant apparently. Maybe this was the same giant his brother told him about?
Maybe.
Walking onto the ‘scene’, he cracked his neck, sliding his weapon from his shoulders and twirling it. “Yo~ Wanna leave the lil lady alone?” If the a*****e wanted to fight, he would activate his magic so he could get a taste of what it feels like to be helpless. “I promise you it's not worth the a** beating Imma give you.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

No broken nose this time but of course another hit to where she had a freshly replaced filling. It did make her dizzy as she stepped back, letting out a hiss at the fact they’d blocked her hit. At least they hadn’t grabbed her pendulum so she still had it to try swinging again, something she was about to do before she heard Aaru.

Smiling, she swung at the big lummox again while Aaru was talking, sure it might not be fair to do something while they were talking but it was a nice wide-open opportunity. This time she just stomped down towards his foot and went to elbow him in the stomach.

“Perfect.” Part of her had been curious how he fought, other than the whole Muay Thai thing he had mentioned to her. Something about those skulls seemed like they would mean business for this a*****e in front of her and she was more than ready to see how it would go.

—-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He smirked a bit as he watched the Page step back from his hit. No bloody or broken nose, but that was fine. It was when he was stepping forward to press what little advantage he’d gained that he heard another voice. He would have rolled his eyes if it hadn’t meant taking them off of his enemy. The first one, anyway. For ******** sake, couldn’t these Order bastards do anything alone? Every fight he’d been in, they had immediately called for backup. He missed her next swing of the pendulum and grunted as it connected, then grabbed for it and yanked. His boots meant her stomp on his foot didn’t do much, but the elbow to his stomach didn’t feel great, either. With a growl, he turned and lifted his foot to kick her backward, to get her out of his hair for now.

“You talk a big game, little girl, but you had to call for backup before we even got started?” He scoffed and moved so he could keep an eye on both of them. The Page’s backup was definitely a higher level than she was, which meant he was at a higher level than Polarite himself as well.

“Don’t you have something better than babysitting to do?” he grouched to the new guy. He didn’t know the name for the Knight’s weapon, but those skulls looked like they could do some damage, and that wasn’t even taking whatever magic they were imbued with into the equation. He debated taunting the Page girl a bit more, but he wasn’t so arrogant to think he could take on both of them and survive. He needed more Chaos allies.

“Okay, little girl. Take a seat and maybe you’ll learn something.” Hopefully, it wouldn’t end up being a lesson on how to kill a Negaverse agent.

Aaru snorted.

Spass? Him babysitting HER?

Nah, spass could handle herself really.

“Nah, just came back from railing your girlfriend actually… Pretty with a nice a**? Chefs kiss man.” He chuckled, “Isn't she the one my brother tossed like a rag doll? You're the one he ******** up right?” The knight kept twirling his weapon as he walked closer, getting ready to lay down some whoop a**. It's been a minute since he's had an all out brawl and if Damien was right, this man was going to give him a bit of a workout.

“Come at me, ‘kid’, let's see if Spass is actually going to ‘learn’ something from you.”

The mention of babysitting had her trying to knee them in the junk just once before they pulled her pendulum away. The metal of it cut up her hand but she was more concerned about what losing the thing meant. The damn steel toe boots of his made a freaking sound as her heel connected and she knew that it hadn’t done anything which was annoying.

Hearing Aaru, she did roll her eyes. It was like listening to her ex without a french accent. It didn’t make her want to punch either of them less but she got the hint that it was time to step back. Apparently, they’d dealt with this person before, or at least the other redhead had. She still needed to take the time to go to the gym or studio to get better at this whole thing but it had been a bit difficult while she was healing up.

—-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Polarite’s vision became tinged with red as the Knight mentioned Saleeite. “Don’t ******** talk about her like that,” he growled, wishing his weapon didn’t squeak when he used it. He couldn’t wait to rank up, wanting a better version of himself already. He tried to keep himself in check, but the Knight wouldn’t keep his damn mouth shut. “Why don’t you put your weapon down and we can fight like men?” It had nothing to do with his own weapon, nope.

Polarite clenched his fists, stepping closer to the Knight as the red head closed the distance as well. “Or are you afraid to fight without that thing?” Dangerous to taunt someone who looked like he didn’t miss a day in the gym, but it was worth it if he could get him to drop those skulls. Who knew what kind of magic they held?

Oh….He hit a sensitive spot did he?

Giving his opponent a chuckle, Aaru decided to give one more jab, “Really? Talk about her like she's not a slut? Cause I'm pretty convinced she is with the way she was sucking my c**k last night~” Of course no such thing happened and they both knew it. That didn't mean he couldn't talk his s**t to get under the agent’s skin. When he asked for him to put his weapon down so they could ‘fight like men’ he decided he could humor him for now. Tossing his weapon into subspace, he brought his hands up, his left hand in front of his eye while his right hand was just below his other eye. His legs were bouncing but in a different way from standard boxing.

Aaru did not hesitate coming in quick and hard with a kick directly aimed at his opponent’s knee. If that didn't work, he had a jab that was coming straight for his face.

Watching as the big guy just walked past her, she was fine with letting them have a go at each other. It gave her time to pick up her pendulum and dust herself off. “He makes a good show of it, a real bull-headed man.” Egging things on slightly as she put just a bit more distance, she wanted to see how this would go and part of her liked the idea of seeing how someone else got their a** beat.

She wasn’t surprised to see his weapon go away but then she figured this was that fighting style he’d mentioned so after she was sure she was out of the splash zone, she let her pendulum rest on her shoulder as she watched what would hopefully be one hell of a show.

If anything the agent deserved it for being an a*****e, not that she hadn’t technically started it but that was just semantics.

—-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Polarite would kill him. Not today, and not anytime soon. But his new goal was to rank up and kill this red headed b*****d. He watched the Knight fall into his fighting stance and took up his own. Was he the only boxer on either side? Whatever, he just needed to get through this fight. When his enemy shot a foot out first, Polarite knew this was not going to be an easy fight. He was used to fighting with fists alone, he’d had to make some s**t up to make up for that.

A quick step back saved his knee, but it didn’t save his face. He took the punch on the jaw, his head swinging to the side as a ringing sounded in his ears. He shook his head to clear it before throwing a set of punches at the other man.

Wow…He could see what his brother was talking about when it came to fighting one on one with someone on the opposite side. He was able to dodge a couple of the punches except for that first one. Rang his brains around a little but that was nothing compared to the s**t he's been through in the past. Once again, he was quick, this time going for a furry of kicks mostly aimed at the Agent’s side. There was a wicked grin on Aaru’s face as he kept going in rapid succession, one kick after another. Combine that with his combat boots and this was not about to be a fun time for his opponent.

Getting that first hit in felt good, but the a*****e dodged the other too. s**t, he kept forgetting about watching his legs. Those kicks were no joke, and it was all he could do just to block some of the impact. But even that was bruising from those damn greaves. When the a*****e finally took a break, Polarite swung around to the Knight’s side to aim a few jabs to his ribs. Then a final punch aimed for his kidneys. He knew from experience that those hits hurt.

Being a kickboxer meant that he had to be quick, but also his deadliest hits were going to be in his legs. Thats not to say he was weak when it came to his fists, because he totally wasn't. However he was not prepared for the hit to his ribs, knocking the wind out of him slightly. The kidney punch was barely dodged, but Aaru recovered after a step back, slamming his fist into his chest to weather through the pain. “Nice one!” Now, it was his turn to show the Agent just why he was about to lose and WHY he would not be the one teaching Spass anything. The Knight rushed in but this time, he summoned his weapon mid run, activating the magic. With the skull in hand, he aimed a punch to the Agent’s face, then proceeded to take the other skull, also spewing fog and slamming it into the otherside.

He did indeed put away his weapon, they fought like men, but that didn't mean he would permanently keep his weapon out of the fight. That would've been stupid on his part.

___________________________________________________________________________

Polarite just scowled at the “compliment” from the Knight, bracing for impact. But he wasn’t expecting the b*****d to go back and pull his weapon out. He dodged the punch, but not the skull. His bell had rung, the sound echoing in his ears as his vision blurred. His hands went to his head to try and clear away the blurriness, shaking his head in the process. When he looked up again, he saw the last person he ever expected to see again.

Garrett. His father. “How the ******** did you get out?” he asked the phantom, scowling at the vision. He knew damn well the parole board hadn’t granted him release, because they would have told him. Besides, he made a point of going every single time to remind them of what he did and how he had treated the kids he was supposed to take care of.

With an angry yell, Polarite went to attack him. Except he went right through the older man and went down, hitting the ground. “What….the ********.” When he looked back to where Garrett had been, he was there again, but with Noa. No…that wasn’t right. He had shown her pictures, plus he had the unfortunate luck of looking just like his sperm donor. So it didn’t make sense for her to be there willingly, unless she was yanking his starseed. “No, no, no, this isn’t ******** right,” he said and tried again, getting up and running at Garrett only to trip and fall to the ground once more.

Aaru wisely stepped back from the fumbling agent, shaking his head. That was the second chaos agent that he’s used his magic on and damn….These ******** had demons apparently. He didn't know what the poor b*****d was seeing, but it couldn't be good. Either way, he tossed his weapon into subspace, turning and walking towards Spass while holding his side. “Need to leave before that magic wears off. I also need to go see a ******** healer. Damn forgot those boxing punches hurt when they hit.” He waited for her to join them so they could leave the Agent to his misery. Hopefully he would think twice before picking on a tiny woman. Granted, he didn't say that out loud because he was sure Spass would deck him in his injured side with her weapon. He wasn't up for more internal damage thank you.

—---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It had been more than a show and Spasskaya had taken a step back once or twice to keep out of the way. Wincing slightly when she saw the hits connect, she was glad it wasn’t her getting in the thick of it.

“What’s going on with him?” Moving back over towards Aaru when things seemed to be settling down, she watched as the agent flailed and cursed as if he was talking to someone. It seemed really weird in her opinion but if it put them out of commission she wasn’t going to complain.

“Yeah… you can fill me in on that later. Sorry I don’t know a healer, not really had the pleasure of finding anyone who wasn’t a problem besides you so far.” As much as she didn’t like the idea, she wondered if it would be good to start networking a bit more and making an effort to settle into this city outside of that initial reason she’d come here. There was more than enough to work on at her shop and in her wonder so maybe working on some other magic would work out in the end too.
