It was so different from what he knew, from what he remembered of this planet, and it was still jarring as he wandered. Occasionally he saw metal coins on the ground, just cast aside and not even cared about, a far cry from what had brought the downfall of his world. He avoided them like the plague just in case, sometimes toeing them with his sandals to make sure they didn’t pop up and scuttle off.
Standing in what looked like a closed-down garden, he took in the quiet beauty it still had beneath the thin layer of snow.
—---------------------------------------------------
It was extremely rare for her to be out anymore given it was the winter time and spending time with her family (as well as fooling around with Bell), was top priority, especially since school was over for now. Polonia ran her hands over the various bushes that lined the garden she was in, sensing the order signature that was close by. Now, she could just assume they would be friendly or she could just hit them with her attack right away for an advantage. Wither would be proud of her if she did the latter, but she very much preferred the former, especially if it meant she could have ‘fun’ rather than fighting.
Polonia stepped out from the path she was on, approaching the…Senshi? With caution. Her power was on the tip of her tongue just in case some tom ******** was about to go down. But also…This powered person looked weird. Was there some sort of new species of human that was previously unknown till now? “You don't look like anything I've seen before…Care to tell me what you are?”
—-------------------------------------------------------
Something felt wrong and had the hair on the back of his neck standing up. Nothing jumped out immediately and as he looked around it seemed like he was alone. Chang’E couldn’t shake the feeling and as he stepped away from the snow-covered flowerpots, he saw the other senshi.
Something was playing over the woman’s face, that he could tell, and he almost had it figured out before she spoke. Keeping his hands at his sides to block his scales a bit, it was more out of habit than anything else at the moment.
“Just a wanderer, not from here though. At least I can say I haven’t been here in a rather long time until this most recent visit.” Looking over the long hair and black outfit, something wasn’t normal about this woman either. Chaos seemed to envelop them and it left him uneasy. His magic had always worked better in groups but now he really only had himself so if needed he could fight a bit. The last thing he wanted was for poor Brioche to get distraught over him not returning to that little apartment, the mauvian was so kind and lively since they’d found him.
—-----------------------------------------------------
”Just a wanderer huh?” She tilted her head, “Honey….I'm afraid I don’t believe you. Wanna try again?” Clearly he could sense what she was due to how tense he looked. But really she was curious and figured he would at least be honest about what he was. She could tell he was a senshi but what kind of senshi is the real question here. Polonia stepped closer, a small smile appearing on her face. “I don't want to fight or anything, I just want to satisfy my curiosity.” Keeping her hands in front of her to show that really, she meant no harm, Polo waited for a response. If he decided to fight that would be a shame considering he looked pretty exotic but alas, if she had to fight then it is what it is.
She would make him feel guilty, then she would go in for the strike to hopefully knock him out in one blow.
—--------------------------------------------------------------------
Blinking for a moment, he took a step back. “It’s not a lie, you can tell I’m not from here obviously but I don’t mean any trouble.” Holding his hands up, he kept them close together to set his magic off just in case. It might help if he needed to try something but he didn’t like the idea of starting a fight with a human before getting to know what was going on.
Another half-step back had him jump slightly as he found himself backing into one of the prickly holly bushes. There really wasn’t much further he could go at this point and he looked back at her. “I am a senshi, not like you though.” Other than that he didn’t think it safe to say where he came from, in case they could somehow make his chaos-tainted planet worse.
—----------------------------------------------------
Okay so at least he was honest.
Polo sighed and stopped her walk, keeping some distance. If only all her other chaos brothers and sisters were not so…..aggressive. This conversation probably could've gone differently. “And I am a corrupt senshi. Same as you, but obviously I have chaos at my core and no homeworld to connect to. Trust me when I say I would rather talk than fight, but you look like you're ready to defend….” She took another step back, “Please don't give me a reason to hurt you senshi.” Polonia would if she had to, her powers required words not gestures.
“Now, what kind of senshi are you? Didn't think they came with features like yours.” She saw the eyes which reminded her of a….Snake? She tilted her head, “Did your side find a way to fuse with Youma without chaos being involved?” God she was so curious…If only she could get closer to study him…Without being hit by unknown magic.
--------
With the senshi stopping, he felt less pressured against the sharp holly bush. But what she was saying didn’t make sense to him and he gave her a confused look. “A corrupt senshi? I only knew of senshi just the one type or younger ones but still just senshi.” It didn’t make sense but if what she was saying was true then it felt like a fate worse than what had happened to his planet. Being cut off from anything was unpleasant, he’d felt that for a long time when his world was cut off from everything else in the universe for all those years.
Shaking his head, he pressed a hand to his forehead as they brought up even more confusing things. “Youma? Is that some sort of chaos-minted item like the coins?” If they could fuse with a being, that would be disgusting on multiple levels. It also made him feel a bit offended that they would think his appearance was related to something vile when he took pride in his features.
“These features of mine are not because I am a senshi, they aren’t related at all. It’s just how I was born along with many others in the past like me as well.” Carefully avoiding where he was from still, he tried to give what he hoped was a sufficient enough answer even if he was fumbling at what she was bringing up.
—------------------------------------------------------------------------
So…..Order doesn't teach their own about youma? About chaos?
Just how was this side running things?
Youma? A coin? That actually caused Polonia to laugh. “W-What?! No! Youma are monsters created from chaos…You've never seen one before?” Obviously he hasn't if he was calling them a chaos-minted coin but still! The lack of education….It was almost borderline painful. Wait…He was born with those features? “So…Senshi really are aliens? I thought this was a joke?” Well, that was something she didn't know before, and maybe she should share that with the team later on.
Without stepping closer, Polonia sighed. “I feel wrong to you right? What you're feeling is the chaos energy in my starseed. You know what that is right? A corrupt senshi has chaos poured into their starseed. We’re like….A darker version of you, a pure or white moon senshi. Make sense?”
—------------------------------------------------------------------------
That drew a gasp from him, the fact that chaos could coalesce into an actual form - in this case, a monster. It made him pale, just the idea of the things roaming free with more sentience than what was on his world’s surface. “No, and I don’t wish to ever.” It was disgusting to even think about, even if he was still not sure about what to do over his world. Stiffening up as she stepped closer, he nodded while trying not to let it show how unpleasant it felt on his face.
“Yes I know what chaos is… but not in this form or function in the slightest. It goes against everything I saw of it for years.” It just didn’t make sense, none of it did and it was hard to wrap his head around as she spoke.
“I couldn’t say for others, you’re the first of any sort I’ve met here. I feel like lumping anyone together in a group without knowing the full picture is a bit distasteful. I could just as easily say the whole concept you’re explaining is alien to me.”
—--------------------------------------------------------------
”Ahhh….Well, you might want to start asking questions and learning. I can say not all corrupts are as conversational or nice as I am. We are taught to harm senshi on sight or to take starseeds. There is the option for corruption but I'm of the notion that corruption should always have a choice.” Granted her corruption was voluntary in the fact that she couldn't be around her family if she wasn't. Otherwise, Polo would have been happy just going around her daily civilian life. But since she could tell this senshi was on edge…
It might be time to just go and see whom she could take some more energy from to fulfill her quota. She started to back up so she could leave but not without issuing a warning, “Remember, not all chaos senshi are as nice as me. There are some that will hurt you first and ask questions later. It's the same with the negaverse officers. There are some that will be curious and talk but they are few and far between. Maybe we will run into each other again….” She hoped so but still, she had to take off and go do her duties. With a small wave, the senshi took off.
—---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Crossing his arms at the thinly veiled threat, he wasn’t sure how he felt about the whole situation. It meant this place was actively dangerous compared to his dead home. This city had things called Negaverse agents and corrupt senshi which both seemed like more trouble than he wanted to poke around.
Waving in response, he stepped away from the bush finally and rubbed at his back where some of the brush had pricked him. This was more than he wanted to deal with on top of the could but he couldn’t argue that asking questions and finding out more was the best way forward. It didn’t solve his problem of what to do next as a whole but at least it was something to work on while learning from Brioche about how the world was now.
