Snowy Showdown (16) : There’s something magical about fresh fallen snow–completely undisturbed and untouched by the rest of the world. It should be relaxing and peaceful–a sign that no one has been around and you’re perfectly safe. Except, the best predators lie in wait, completely invisible to their prey. What do you do when a patch of snow starts clumping together and taking shape right before your eyes? When it all comes together, it looks like a person, only there are no features, just a snowy white form. Maybe there wouldn’t have been an issue if you hadn’t seen it, but it’s too late. In frantic, panicked movements, it lunges at you with icy fists. It feels like being pelted with snowballs, but each hit lowers your core body temperature–rapidly. The creature is highly susceptible to heat and will melt if exposed to it; if you hit it, snow splatters everywhere. It may attempt to reform, but eventually it loses strength. You might not want to stick around to see if it just needs a little more time. If the creature manages to knock you unconscious, you may wake up covered in snow and with a bad cold. You may be more aware of strange, snowy figures that seem to be standing around in odd places; who knows where these things are hiding?
Note: This strange snow monster is not a youma but can be used as a battle requirement for a character. It can only be used as a battle if there are two powered characters involved; you cannot write a solo and count this as a battle, and your character must be powered to meet battle requirements. You can use the prompt for as many characters as you like and it will count as a battle requirement, however if you repeat the prompt with the same character, only the first time will be usable as a battle.

Sarin smiled, kicking snow up as he walked, patrolling the area around a park. Despite summer being his favorite season, winter was a very close second and Christmas was his favorite holiday regardless of the fact that he had been born on a holiday. He had always loved to play in the snow, sometimes worrying his mother half to death with how long he would stay outside in it.
As an adult with what amounted to two full time jobs, he didn’t get to play in the snow all that much anymore. This year he had taken the time to build a giant snowman in the front yard, though. And then he had wrapped Christmas lights around it so Frosty would light up at night. His sister, Marni, had laughed when she saw it, and he was glad to have put a smile on her face. She, too, worked way too much although that was because she was a chef and not because she was a senshi, or knight or anything.
At least he hoped she wasn’t.
The sound of footsteps behind him broke him from his reverie, the memories scattering like leaves on the winds. They were heavy and lumbering, and gave him the feeling of being Shaggy or Scooby Doo with a monster walking behind them. He turned to look and had to do a double take. It was a monster! Some kind of abominable snowman and he wondered if the Christmas lights had been too much for Frosty and he came to life to take revenge on his creator.
Maybe he needed to stop watching weird horror movies. As he stared at the creature, it started swinging at him and he barely dodged in time, ducking under the arm and spinning behind him. He kicked a leg out and took a chunk of hip out of the snowman. And then it s
tarted filling back in.
“Oh, s**t,” he said, wishing he was a more offensive senshi instead of a debuff one.
This was gonna suck.
Ah….Another senshi….Perfect.
Villon watched from a far while the senshi struggled against the human looking snowmen, knowing that the little light would be able to sense him during all the chaos. Eventually, he decided to walk over, dodging one snowman's fist and returning it with a kick. These stupid things will not keep him from his goal, which was to basically see if he could….Touch a starseed. Hes never tried it on a senshi, not that he could recall at least so now seemed like a good time to carry this out.
The snowman that tried to punch him went back at it, seemingly faster so he was barely able to block, feeling the cold creep into his bones. This was rather annoying so Villon had to redirect his attention to the snowman, turning his head to face the senshi, he wasted no time spitting what would look like some sort of inky tentacle at his soon to be victim. While he dealt with this stupid abomination, the senshi could have a time out. Did that leave him vulnerable to attack? Sure but it would also make it easier for him to finesse that starseed.
As Sarin was trying to fight off the snowman, he sensed a Chaos signature coming closer. Awesome, that was all he needed. Moving so he could keep an eye on the Chaos senshi, Sarin continued to fight off Frosty. He missed blocking a couple hits and the cold felt like it was freezing his bones. He was sorely unprepared for the tentacle that was shot at him.
“b*****d!” he shouted, moments before the blast of nightmares hit him, taking him out of the real world and dropping him into a world of nightmares. While Sarin re-lived old nightmares of running from Slenderman in the woods, Frosty took the opportunity to pummel him with ice cold hits.
Villon snickered and resumed battling his chilling opponent while noticing the regeneration was slowing down. Instead of fleeing, he decided to continue the battle with the snowman till it was nothing but a pile of snow on the ground. That was when he rushed over to kick the other snowman out of the way, “Sorry….Have an experiment I want to try frosty.” The monster slowly regenerated and while that was happening, Villon all but shoved his hand into the senshi’s chest. The starseed that was there felt….God it felt delicious. Granted he wasn't sure if he should take the thing yet or not, but he was sorely tempted. As it stands the snowman that was pelting the other senshi rose back up to give him a good blow to the side.
These damned things were really getting on his nerves.
Pulling his hand abruptly from his opponent's chest, Villon went back to fighting the damned monstrosity, getting colder with each hit.
While he was running from Slenderman, or trying to, Sarin felt a searing pain in his chest. He fell to the forest floor with a shout of pain, pressing his hands to the center of his chest as if that would stop the burning that he felt there. In the real world, his arms swung out recklessly, hoping to find a target.
Just as suddenly as the pain started, it stopped and Sarin was also thrust back into the real world where a Chaos senshi was battling Frosty. His attack had felt powerful, and Sarin wasn’t sure if it would do anything but… All he could do was try.
He let out a shrill whistle, targeting the other senshi with his panic attack.
The attack caught Villon off guard and hit him like a pile of bricks. All of a sudden, his heart started beating rapidly, his throat felt tight, and he just….He couldn't stop the hyperventilating, and after barely landing a kick on the snowman that finally stopped regenerating, he turned his crazed and angry gaze to the senshi in the area. “You….” He wheezed and shook, holding his hand over his heart. “The <********> did you DO to me!?” He hasn't had a panic attack since he was a kid, and even then his grandparents had been the ones to help him through and eventually be able to control them.
Being around Lily and the kids also helped.
With a primal sneer and what sounded like a growl, Villon began to hit his chest, mumbling something the other senshi probably would not understand. His grandpa was the one to teach him how to Haka and while he was not performing it in the traditional sense, just remembering was helping the feeling of panic to die down. All the while, his blue eyes stared at the senshi before him with nothing but murder on the brain. He was going to rip that a*****e apart.
Sarin needed to move. And probably call for help. Grabbing the phone in his pocket, he hit one of the first numbers there. Aaru. Sarin was not equipped to deal with an enemy as powerful as this one seemed to be and that said nothing about the purely physical threat he posed. What could he do against a super senshi like this? If he got any closer to try and hit him, he was likely to get dead. Running away felt way too cowardly and he was tired of feeling weak and useless. Yes, he had called for help but he would stand his ground while he could.
Aaru was wandering nearby on patrol when he got the call from Sarin. He didn't even need an explanation. Like Spasskaya he had taken the senshi under his wing. Where as Spass was a bad little thing that could do good all by her self, he figured Sarin would need a bit more help to reach that level, if the conversation between him and his brother Hali meant anything. So when he made it to the area, the super that he saw reminded him of something Spass said. “Ahhhhh….YOU'RE The one that took a hit and decided to keep going?” He casually walked over to Sarin's side, helping him up, “Sup kid? Having an issue?” he looked over at the corrupt practically radiating murder, cracking his knuckles. “Hey there dark and crazy, it's not nice to pick on those less powerful than you…”
He started walking, pulling his skulls off of his shoulder to swirl them around, “Why don't I show you how it feels hummmn? I can guarantee it's not gonna feel as good as it would being the predator.” he could hear the senshi mumbling something and decided that he really didn't need to get up so he activated one of his skulls, grinning at the fog that started to roll out from it's mouth. He saw some sort of black s**t dripping from the senshi’s mouth and decided he wanted no part of that, swinging and watching as the skull collided with the right side of the senshi’s face, sending him flying from his crouched position.
It didn’t take long at all for Aaru to show up, and while he hated feeling like a damsel in distress all the time he was glad his new friend had come to assist. “Oh, you know, just trying not to get my a** kicked,” he tried for casual sarcasm. He needed to get better, and needed to figure out how best to utilize his attacks. For now, he watched Aaru use those slightly terrifying skull bolas to knock the chaos super off his feet. Damn. Aaru was impressive, and it made Sarin wish he had awakened as a knight instead of a senshi. But then again, Aaru had reached his third stage. Sarin had a long way to go before he would have even half of Aaru’s power.
The chaos senshi looked like he wouldn't be getting up anytime soon so that's when Aaru walked back to Sarin, “Hey, let's just get out of here before he wakes up yeah?” He was not in the mood to explain away the markings to his husband so the best way to avoid that would be to leave before his opponent woke up. It seemed like that was a bad assessment because Villon did in fact get up and a tentacle was seen disappearing as soon as it hit Aaru’s back. He looked around to see that the Senshi was passed out, face first in the snow. His form started to warp and instead of a senshi, he was seeing what looked like the form of his husband, all bloodied and broken.
Now he knew this was a hallucination, but the fact that Ryan was pictured, laying there all broken, brought tears to his eyes. “Ryyyy….Baby…” He was fighting his body as it started to make its way over to the body, shaking his head and struggling with himself. “I know it's not real….It's not…” He heard Ryan calling for him and he bit his lip and turned his head away. That was not his husband, his rock, his ******** better half. No, he wouldn't be here right now, in fact he was at home with the kids, probably working on a photo project. Soon enough the hallucination faded, and he took a deep breath. “Let’s go…” He didn't wait for an answer, already making his way across the snowy field.
Sarin started to turn, to leave with Aaru, but then his friend turned back with tears in his eyes. What was happening? s**t, that senshi must have hit him with the nightmare tentacle. “It's not real!” he insisted, grabbing Aaru's arm to help pull him away from the senshi in the snow. Thankfully, Aaru seemed to understand it wasn't real and pulled himself away from whatever vision had caused him so much pain. He laid a hand on Aaru's shoulder and squeezed lightly, offering what little comfort he could. His own nightmare had not hit him as hard as Aaru's seemed to, and he hoped it wouldn't continue to ******** with the Knight.
