They always seem cold to the touch, and when they shake, little snowflakes sprinkle off of them. They can show up just about anywhere, either alone or--often--in pairs. They tend to wander off on their own without any trouble, but if you surprise them or try to catch or hurt them, they may bite. Their little teeth are enough to break skin, but after one bite they run away. The bite itself isn’t bad, but the effects are a bit unpleasant: for roughly two days after the bite, the injury is cold and the victim will feel random, cold, shooting pains. Their core body temperature will drop and they will often be sent into random fits of shivering. No medicine seems to help, and no amount of blankets or hot baths can soothe the chill. You're just going to have to deal with it and hope it gets better… Most experiences with the bunnies are perfectly pleasant, you just have to worry about them burrowing. There are holes peppering Destiny City, and with the fresh fallen snow it can be impossible to tell where they are hiding. The holes range from small holes to several feet deep, so can be a minor inconvenience to a potential hazard. On the bright side, sometimes you wind up covered in bunnies looking for warmth from their sudden guest. On the other hand, there are a rising number of trips to the hospital for twists and sprains. The bunnies always leave with the snow, so best to enjoy them--or avoid them--for as long as you can. It had been a few months since the move, since things had gotten a little crazy as unpacking had become a monumental task. It went as quickly as it could between his job and them both keeping up with things in the Negaverse. It was a lot to juggle but he was happy with how things were coming along. As the snow started to fall, he knew those little rabbits would be back. This time he had a plan, something he hoped the other would like. They’d looked so happy with the little things even if he’d gotten tripped up by the holes they left behind. So in addition to seeking out the magic rabbits to paint, he had spoken with a few breeders and pet supply shops to get everything he needed for his surprise. Setting up things in one of the small side rooms, one that was still half-filled with miscellaneous boxes, he made sure everything was in order while the other was out. The habitat setup took a bit more work than he’d thought but it looked sturdy and was big enough for the two white rabbits he’d gotten. They had all their shots and everything was cleared so that it would remain as just two rabbits. A passing thought set him laughing thinking about how things were still very much that way between him and Alexandre. Looking over his work, he grabbed some of the treats from the pet shop and let the rabbits roam. They followed him curiously since he had plenty of treats until he stopped in the middle of the halfway just in sight of the front door. Taking a breath so he could keep from blowing his cover, he pulled out his phone to call Alexandre. “Those rabbits are back and this time the mischief they're causing has come into our home. You never told me they got into places, hurry home before they decide to run back out.” Dropping two treats on the floor in front of where he sat, he watched as they ate them and kind of roamed around him slowly, getting a feel for their new home.

Alexandre had not thought moving would be so difficult, it hadn’t been when he’d moved from his parent's home, but the last time he’d moved the blond had been much younger. Now he was older and he owned a lot more things, not to mention all the things he’d bought for the new home, so it wasn’t really a wonder at how long the unpacking was taking.
It was well worth it though, all the moving, all the mornings he woke up sore from spending the whole of the previous day moving and unpacking things. It was all worth it because he was living with Rene and he’d managed to surprise the other with a home, a home that belonged to just the two of them. Now that he had the home though, and a really nice storage space attached to the kitchen where he could store other food goods, the blond was out shopping so he could finally stockpile the place. Winter was here and he wanted to be ready, considering what winter typically brought with it in this city, so he had several cases of water, paper towels, toilet paper, and other things they might need piled into his car. It had taken some time, and a good bit of help, to fill the car but he was just starting to head home when his phone rang.
Answering the call he was surprised to hear what Rene had to say. “I wasn’t aware they could get into homes either...I mean I suppose they can follow a person inside but not just get in all on their own.” Could they now teleport?
“I’ll be home in ten minutes, after we handle the rabbits I’ll need some help unloading the car.” He was going to make sure they kept a well-stocked home, and this was just the first part of it. He’d get more things as winter went on, he just wasn’t ready for more since they were still unpacking from the move.
Pulling into the driveway the blond hurried towards the door, it was cold as hell out, his keys were out as he unlocked the front door. “Rene?” Calling out he stopped short, spotting the other sitting there with two bunnies. “Those don’t look like the other bunnies..like last winter.” Closing the door behind himself, failing to lock it for now, he set his keys down and approached slowly. “Where did we get bunnies?” Staring at the two little white creatures, noses wiggling, as they moved about Rene.

Looking back over his shoulder he couldn’t help but smile. “Darn, I thought I picked a pair that looked close enough to them.” Reaching down, one of the rabbits nuzzled into his hand looking for more treats. “Come closer, I have more treats if you want to give them some. We can figure out names too, these won’t go away when the snow melts. No icy nips either but if we let them roam outside rabbit holes might be a problem still.”
The other rabbit was slowly moving closer to the blond, inspecting the new person who could maybe also have treats. “I’ll help you bring things in here soon once I get them back to their home.” Shifting a bit, he turned to sit facing them as the rabbit near him decided to make his lap their new home. He was still getting used to the idea of pets, it wasn’t something he’d had before and he couldn’t really call Katya one either.

“They do look very close to those bunnies…but they are a little bigger than any I’ve seen.” Alexandre spoke softly, gently, as he came to seat himself on the floor where the bunnies, and Rene, were. Listening to Rene he nodded his head. “I wouldn’t dream of letting them outside, something might get them.” A possum, raccoon, or something else maybe even a bird of prey would get them.
Watching one of the rabbits grow closer, little foot falls bringing it near to his lap, he reached out for the treats and slowly offered one to the white four legged fluff ball. “Their home? Where are they to stay?” Already he was planning to learn what he could about rabbits, he’d check youtube videos for help, he knew people posted videos about their pets and caring for them. He’d never watched such videos but he had come across them in the past, here and there, and now he’d have to go hunting for them.
“You know, I really like this. It feels more like a home if we have pets as well. Not just us and Katya.” Because she was no pet, he knew that and so did Rene, she could take on a human form even if the time was limited and she was an alien really. He’d never insult her by calling her a pet.

“Ah okay, it’s been a year since then so I maybe judged the size wrong.” His smile brightened a bit as they mentioned keeping the things inside and safe, that meant that they weren’t mad at the surprise. If anything it looked like they were already warming up to the idea as the other rabbit nibbled at the treat he’d given the other for it.
“Yes, in one of the side rooms we are using for storage. It’s called a hutch I think but it’s a space where they can sleep and do their business. I know they could probably get into things while we aren’t home so I made sure I got something that was big and comfortable.” He pet the one in his lap softly as he spoke, enjoying how soft they were.
“I’m glad you like it, to be honest I’d been thinking about it since last year when you told me the snow ones disappeared when the snow melted. You looked really happy around them.” Reaching over he rubbed their cheek with his thumb.

“Alright, so we have a room dedicated to them. We’ll use a hall closet near to the room, if we need to, for storage or food or other things for them.” Making it easy to access and keeping relevant things near at hand, it would be neat like that. He’d put in plenty of closet space, via hallway closets, for that reason. He wanted to keep things that wouldn’t always be needed, but might be from time to time, near to the rooms where they’d be needed. So hallway closets would always be nearby in this place.
“I wonder if they can be left to roam, like a dog or a cat.” Looking down at the rabbits as he spoke, petting the one who’d taken the treat from him. “Mmm, I do like the rabbits which turn up, even if they do cause problems, they are still rather sweet. They only bite, like any rabbit should, when threatened. But for you to be thinking about this for so long.” It was rather amazing, and his voice certainly said as much, as he leaned into the others light touch. “You are a bit of a romantic you know.” Turning his face just enough to press a kiss to the others hand.

“Okay, I have a few things already for them and some lists of things we might need. I got enough for this first month just in case the snow made things difficult.” The rest could be ordered online if needed without having to worry about delayed shipping causing problems. He already had added a list of things to his amazon for reorder so he could keep track.
“They can roam when we are home or if Katya is home, otherwise it might be safer to have them in their own room just in case. I read that they like to nibble on things and we wouldn’t want them getting into anything while nobody is around.” Moving closer, he made sure not to disturb the rabbit in his lap.
“I mean… you knew how I was feeling then and I was planning on doing things to try and win you over. But that was before everything happened which in the end it all worked out.” There’d been ups and downs, a few scares on each side of things, but now they were farther from the center of it all in the city and with him being the same rank there was also that level of safety that came along with it.
Pulling them a bit closer he ghosted his lips over thiers as he spoke. “More than a bit I’d like to think.” Even though Alexandre had done all this with the house, he’d gotten a few surprises together for them as he could. Finding things he knew they liked or getting help from Katya when he could. For the most part it seemed to be helping them, seemed to bring a bit of light into their eyes.

“That’s perfect, winter could be a mess, magic this time of year can cause problems. If we need things we can also order it online, chewy.” A site he’d never used before, never needed or wanted to, but he could see the point in it and would start to use that instead. “That sounds good, perhaps in time we can let them have roaming rights at night.” While they slept, he was certain they could keep wires out of the way and make sure there was nothing dangerous for them to get at.” He had no issue rabbit-proofing the house somehow, however, that meant, and researching things and even reaching out to people who free-roamed rabbits.
Already he was thinking of what he might need to do, of finding people to talk to and consult, as he did his best to get this all right. This was something new for him, for Rene and himself, and he wanted to do it right.
“Yes, I know how you were feeling then. It was what scared me at first, why I ran, but I’m glad I returned.” Perhaps more so now? As a rabbit climbed into his lap and settled there, nose wiggling, as it moved to clean one of its long ears. Drawn closer to the other he Rene’s lips ghost against his own, a soft sigh breathed out. “Are they both male, female, or one of each?” Because these two bunnies would need names and he’d need time to think of them, best to get started on figuring out names. “I suppose this, and Katya, make a happy home for us both.” Because there would be no children running around here unless they were babysitting, which he knew they’d be doing from time to time.
“Mmmm, yes I do believe you might be right. All the little gifts and now these two. Yes, I think you might just need a bow and arrow to go with those wings you have. We can replace Cupid with you.”

“What’s chewy? Is it like Amazon?” It sounded weird, like some sort of food more than a website or store. Petting the one in his lap for a moment he looked a bit closer to try and remember what the breeder had told him. “We can maybe do that, get something they can use to get on the bed maybe if you want? I’m not sure if rabbits do that though.”
“I’ll always be glad you came back.” Pressing another kiss to the other, he smiled more.
“One of each gender though it’s a bit hard to tell them apart aside from their eyes. We can start coming up with names whenever you’d like. I’m glad you like them and it is happy here.” Honestly, the happiest home setting he’d had, probably the healthiest too.
“Just wait until I have little black wings, I’ll be more of a cupid then no?” Teasing them as he spoke, he watched the rabbit in his lap hop down and move over to play with the other one. They really were cute.

“It’s a website where you can subscribe to ordering certain things on a schedule. So I can set to have food and other things ordered every month, on the same day, and have it come right out of my bank account. I’ve never used it before but I wouldn’t mind doing it for this.” So he wouldn’t need to go to the pet store, especially around halloween when they had a sale on pet tarantulas. “Stairs…they sell those for senior animals and such. I can order a set of stairs so they can get on the bed.” That would be a nice and easy thing to order, he was certain of it, because he was sure Chewy would have it…he’d heard they carried seemingly everything.
Letting the rabbit in his lap move to play with the other, they really were adorable, he nodded his head slowly. “Yeah, you with wings would be like cupid…also hot.” He added the last bit after a moment, or two, of hesitation. He couldn’t help it…the power and the little black bat wings really was enticing if he were to be honest, and he always was. “We won’t wind up with baby rabbits with one of each gender?” He questioned. Even if baby rabbits would be cute he did not want to go having a bunch of them hopping about, there was the saying about breeding like rabbits for a reason.
“We’ll work on names, together, over dinner.”

It was nice seeing them already jumping into getting things ready and making sure everything the two new additions to their home would need was available and ready to go. “Okay I can show you what I had set up on Amazon and we can transfer it all over to that if it’s easier. Put the app on my phone too so I can add things here and there, treats and things.” New flavours or things that came with each changing season because he was sure it went like that with pet products much as it did with things for people too. Though he was sure these little fluffs would be happy with most things, they really seemed very calm.
Raising an eyebrow he pulled Alexandre into his lap as the rabbits played. “Oh? So more so that I am already? Also don’t worry, the only ones going at it like rabbits in this home are going to be us. They came fixed from the breeder, it’s apparently healthier for them to be that way more so than the part about more coming out of a pair.” Lowering his voice, he nipped at their ear a bit.
“Let’s get the rest from the car and then dinner time? Or we can spend more time watching them roam around, there’s no rush on anything. It’s supposed to snow more anyway so I figure we can just have a few lazy days.”

“Of course, I can add the app on your phone. Though you could just save it all on your office computer. That way when you sign in you can see what you have marked and the lists of orders.” As he personally preferred his computer over his phone, especially his laptop, though there were times he’d sneak onto Rene’s office computer. He’d even left interesting things on the others computer from time to time. Like the boudoir photos he’d left on the others computer, a whole folder open with the pictures in the folder, that he’d had done in secret as a surprise for the other.
“We can also order groceries, from the store, just for them.” Thinking of all the veggies he could order for the bunnies, till he could grow his own for them, he’d have to do a little research because he was certain they wouldn’t get by on just carrots and whatever pellets the pet store sold. He also wasn’t so sure pellets were the healthiest options…they didn’t eat those in nature after all. So he would go looking into things, as much as he could, so he go with the most natural and healthy options he could.
Shifting in the other's lap he let one of his hands find one of Rene’s and held onto it. “Perhaps, I do find power to be a very enticing thing. I won’t lie, and those wings do look good. I prefer them to the fluffy wings order gets.” Or the fluffy ones the dark mirror court got. The bat-like ones were a lot sleeker looking and far more appealing to the blond situated in the other's lap. “Mmmm, that’s good, I can’t imagine trusting a pet to do such a surgery.” And he was fairly certain Lorcan might kill him for even asking him to try something like operating on a pair of bunnies. He knew someone in the family was a vet, though who he couldn’t recall, they were distantly related to him but they were still family.
“The car first then we can watch them in the living room. I stocked up and it’s got the back end of the car dipping.” He’d done a little too much shopping perhaps? All the needed supplies for winter and he still wished he’d gotten more. “We can look over the chewy site, if you want, in the living room. We can toss something into a crock pot to cook and while it does we’ll have the time to plan things.” Because anything in the crockpot would take time, a few hours, and that time could be wisely used by them both.
“You never did tell me what you thought of those photos I gifted you…you were a bit busy with thanking me for them…”

“I know but I like keeping the office computer for work so I don’t have it pinging me as much on my phone, even if you like leaving nice surprises on it for me. I liked them, a lot, if it wasn’t obvious.” It had been a similar style of thanking he’d done that first time when they’d come to his shop with papers for him.
Getting up he pulled Alexandre up with him, keeping an arm wrapped around them as he smiled. “You bought the whole store again, didn’t you? Then you can’t blame me when the packages I ordered get here later on.” They each shopped, something he was glad they didn’t nag him about.
“I saw a few of the actual snowy things outside so let’s be careful.” His ankle acted up in the cold after last year’s events but at least this time he knew what to look for and avoid.

“I’m still glad you like the home office I had set up for you.” Especially since it meant on days like today Rene could remain home, and not risk freezing or getting hurt, he could stay nice and warm at home and grab food and drink as he wanted. Alexandre might also just make him espresso or food and bring them to him, as he worked, it made for a comfy feel in his home which the blond appreciated.
Taking the hand up Alexandre nodded slowly. “I wanted to stockpile, the store was packed because we’re due for a lot of snow over the next few days.” And that meant everyone was at the grocery store purchasing things, he’d been doing the same. Kissing the others hand Alexandre was happy to walk around the bunnies, not wanting to trip on them, as he walked at the others side. “I’d never be upset with you ordering things, or helping you carry things in.”
“So I’ll just keep the app on your phone and we’ll order what you have on amazon. Then we’ll set up things on chewy.” Just incase they didn’t have all the amazon things. “Mmm, I’m not surprised the winter bunnies are out. But now I have my own winter bunnies.” Glancing down at the two white balls of fluff that were hopping along after them, he was going to enjoy having them hopping about the house. Slowly it was coming together and feeling more and more like home, especially after holiday decorating…all of the decorating. Fitting in decorating while unpacking everything had not been easy, it still wasn’t easy, but it was coming together.
