Sweet Treats (5) : There’s no shortage of holiday themed popup shops and specials at your local places, and after a long day there’s nothing better than a nice treat for yourself. Maybe you decided to try something new, maybe it was a gift, maybe you got one of the coupons in the mail to try the place out–however you wound up with this drink, you’re in for a good time. No matter what your preferences are, the drink is delicious. Hot, cold, sweet, bitter–there’s a version of it for everyone. But, the flavor isn’t what makes the drink so special–it’s how good it makes you feel. There’s no alcohol in it, but drinking it can leave someone feeling tipsy, warm, and in a general good mood. Inhibitions aren’t lowered and there’s no negative repercussions for having the drink; it might make children more hyper, but the drink just has the ability to put someone in a pleasant mood.
Abby loved the holidays, always excited to dress up, perform the nutcracker for several times in a row as well as her mini performance she did for the dance studio with her aerial silks. Right now, she was sitting on her…swing? What do you call those indoor beds that hung from the ceiling? Probably a hammock. Either way, she was comfy in her festive pajamas while her covers sat on top of the lower half of her body, sipping on this new hot chocolate her mother gave her for a present a couple days back. She had her TV playing quietly, watching RuPauls drag race from the first season for the infinite number of times she's watched it.
It was this, the masked singer, and Hell's kitchen. Those were her favorite shows that she could watch continuously with no issue. Abby took another sip of her drink, smiling at the feeling of nothing but pure good vibes spread throughout her body. She was careful not to voice exactly how she felt, side eyeing the tuft of lilac hair peeking out from underneath the covers on her other bed. The last thing she would need is to add hickies to the set she had received hours ago.
That did bring up the question of her parents though and when they would be coming home. She was pretty sure her mother would have a heart attack if she saw the scene before her given the fact that they haven't really said anything to either of their parents about that next step taken in their relationship. Not that she planned on telling her parents anything. She considered that stuff private, and it was just plain embarrassing to bring up in the first place. She would tell Ophie though, that much was for sure.
Another sip and she was…swirling around a bit but the good feeling intensified. Abby relaxed back into her swing bed, admiring one of the contestants outfits while they performed on stage, a nice dopey smile on her face. Wherever her mother got this drink from she needed to order more. It was so good! Better than any other hot chocolate she's had so far. The feeling it gives afterwards could be considered addictive if not careful.
With that in mind, she took another sip, giggling And humming quietly to herself. Maybe she should go down to the studio and practice her routine for the nut cracker? That sounded like a good idea! Abby carefully and quietly got out of her swing bed to head to her closet, pulling out her practice outfit and dance slippers. After getting dressed, she sent a text to Ben and made her way towards her dance studio with a giggle, excited to be practicing But also just feeling happy in general.
Once she was in her studio, It didn't take her long to start her routine, and soon enough she was twirling, hopping, and jumping, laughing while she stumbled just a little on a part she usually never stumbles on (that would've gotten a scowl instead). Still she felt amazing and kept practicing, eventually twirling so much that she had to stop, sitting down and eventually laying back with another goofy grin.
Yep, she should ask her mom to buy her some more of that cocoa.
