Snowy Showdown (16) : There’s something magical about fresh fallen snow–completely undisturbed and untouched by the rest of the world. It should be relaxing and peaceful–a sign that no one has been around and you’re perfectly safe. Except, the best predators lie in wait, completely invisible to their prey. What do you do when a patch of snow starts clumping together and taking shape right before your eyes? When it all comes together, it looks like a person, only there are no features, just a snowy white form. Maybe there wouldn’t have been an issue if you hadn’t seen it, but it’s too late. In frantic, panicked movements, it lunges at you with icy fists. It feels like being pelted with snowballs, but each hit lowers your core body temperature–rapidly. The creature is highly susceptible to heat and will melt if exposed to it; if you hit it, snow splatters everywhere. It may attempt to reform, but eventually it loses strength. You might not want to stick around to see if it just needs a little more time. If the creature manages to knock you unconscious, you may wake up covered in snow and with a bad cold. You may be more aware of strange, snowy figures that seem to be standing around in odd places; who knows where these things are hiding?
Note: This strange snow monster is not a youma but can be used as a battle requirement for a character. It can only be used as a battle if there are two powered characters involved; you cannot write a solo and count this as a battle, and your character must be powered to meet battle requirements. You can use the prompt for as many characters as you like and it will count as a battle requirement, however if you repeat the prompt with the same character, only the first time will be usable as a battle.
He was staring off into the wide open snowscape at a local park, head tilted slightly. It was almost too quiet, he thought, and the undisturbed snow was somehow off putting, though he couldn’t quite place how or why. So Haik looked on, brows slowly but surely scrunching together as he watched something suddenly start to form not too far from him. Clumps of snow just coming together to form…
“A snowman?” he said aloud, taking a step toward it.
What seemed to pass for its head snapped to look in his direction, and before he knew it the thing lunged at him.

Tea had been wondering the snowy landscape with some hot chocolate she'd picked up earlier. The weather had been chilly and the snow created the perfect winter post card - except for what happened next.
She wasn't expecting a --- snowman??? She saw the snow gather itself up and lung towards someone else. She looked around and found a can to kick towards the monster. She sent the can flying at least she hoped to distract it so the other could get out of range.
"Watch it!" She called.

He blamed snow and cold for the lag in his reflexes. The thing managed a solid hit before Haik finally sidestepped, his confidence bolstered as he felt an aura just nearby. A voice followed soon after, but when he turned to greet them he was met with a can to the face.
“I’m trying!” he said, rubbing his forehead where the can had made contact. The snowman was coming back for round two, but he knew better than to just hang around and stay a target. He sidestepped, and it followed, throwing punches like its life depended on it.
“Any ideas?” he asked, glancing toward the other senshi and inadvertently making an opening for the snowman to punch him in the face this time.

Tea looked aghast she'd hit the other with the can that was not her target. "Ohhhhh I'm sorry!" She called as she moved in trying to make it more difficult for the snowman thing to hit just Haik.
She nodded when he said he was trying and she was trying to think fast as she watched the snow monster punch the other in the face. She moved to try and aim a kick at it's side, "Well depends on what your magic is, mine is useless for this fight."
She looked around, "Lets get it somewhere there's something we could use to fight it with? Might need a trash can or broom handle? We could make makeshift weapons if we have to."

Taking a solid punch to the face, the cold and wet only contributing to the discomfort of feeling dazed from the punch itself.
Haik did his best to dodge and weave the onslaught coming from the thing, quickly calling, “It’s alright, not your fault!” when she apologized. It really hadn’t been, after all; he was the one who got in the way of what was probably their intended target. Not that he had too much of a choice at the time, but anyway, he was glad to have someone there to fend off this…whatever it was.
“That sounds like a good idea to me,” he said, glancing about as he continued to try and dodge the barrage of punches. Spotting a building off to the left, he yelled, “There! Maybe?”

"Oof are you okay!?" Tea cringed a little when he got punched in the face wanting to make sure her current powered companion was okay at least relatively speaking; and she nodded when he said it was a good idea and pointed over to the building, "Alright!" She moved quickly trying to also distract the snowman some by calling it's attention.
"Hey you pile of slush come get me!" She stuck her tongue out at it as well hoping she could move faster than the lumbering snowman. "Also this is not what I thought of when they said Frosty came to life on day."
The adult chibi senshi was very concerned as to why this had to be the Frosty they met that day.

”I’ll live,” he said in response to her concern. He was freezing now, but he was determined to live through this, at least that much was certain. After everything he'd been through... Haik started sprinting for the building at the same time she did, quietly hoping that there wouldn't be someone hanging out at this building so they could move about unhindered, because the last thing he wanted to do was put another human at risk.
“Who is this Frosty?” the senshi replied, eyes narrowing as the building slowly got bigger as they moved closer. He could feel the snowman right behind them, still throwing punches like its life depended on it. "And is he really this evil or is this a horrible misrepresentation?" Because that was possible, right?

Tea looked concerned when he said he'd live but that didn't really answer the question. It was fine for now though she'd worry about him a bit later when they weren't getting chased by the horror version of Frosty.
There was a pause when he asked who was Frosty was, "Oh . . . um -- Well Frosty's a Snowman who came to life one day." She really wasn't sure if he was serious; he seemed serious despite her being caught off guard.
The building wasn't that far and she was trying to get the Snowman to split it's focus so it'd slow down some but it was just swinging widely, "This is a horrible misrepresentation of said Frosty; this is more like the horror version of Frosty because the real Frosty was a jolly happy soul who could laugh and play."
With more of the building in their sights Tea was taking in possible items they could use to try and fend off this Evil Frosty.

A jolly, happy soul that could become this deranged, punch-happy…thing…maybe wasn’t all that jolly deep, deep down. Certainly he’d seen worse, for actual people, not snow-creatures, but still. It was disheartening to learn that Earth was not immune from such things.
Obviously not…Chaos permeated here, too, though perhaps not to the same extent as his planet.
As the small building gradually got bigger as they approached, Haik darted his eyes around to try and spot something that they could use against this thing. Unfortunately, there wasn’t really anything…except…
“If we jump at the very last moment,” he said, pointing at the building’s roof, “maybe it won’t be able to react and splatter into the wall. What do you think?”

Tea was a bit concerned as she didn't find much either, why weren't there something like trash cans out? Those were usually fairly useful.
When Haik suggested them jumping on top of the building the chibi senshi nodded, "Yeah! Sounds like a plan to me."
She was calculating when she needed to jump in her head, "Actually, worse case if it doesn't work we can also both jump down together and hopefully land on him causing him to crumble if the wall doesn't work."
She offered because after all, they'd have the high ground once they jumped to the top of the building - and they couldn't just leave evil frosty.

”Good idea!” he said as they rushed toward the building. Haik narrowed his eyes as they got closer and closer still to the wall, sandwiched between potentially crashing into solid brick and Evil Frosty behind them. He wanted to wait until the absolute last second, and when it came he shouted, “Jump!” and was mere inches to the wall before doing so himself.
He tumbled onto the roof of the building, breathing heavy and uneven as he scrambled toward the edge to see what happened.

Tea was waiting to see when the other jumped, knowing about where she needed to be and when he shouted she too jumped onto the building though she didn't quite make the top the first jump, she had a hold of the ledge and popped herself back up by kicking off the side of the building. "Ugh, that could've been smoother."
She mentioned as she looked down to see if the snowman was going to smash into the wall like they'd hoped, she was trying to slow her breathing from running as fast as she could. The fact she was limited a bit was annoying. She was also kind of readying herself in case they needed to jump down all of a sudden.

Unlike them, the snowman didn’t react in time, crashed into the wall, and met its demise with a very wet CRUNCH. Heaving a sigh, the senshi stood up and turned to the chibi senshi, a relieve smile crossing his features. “Could have,” he agreed, “but at least we’re okay.” It was the most he felt he could ask for during any patrol, was to make it home okay at the end of each night.
Haik took a moment to dust himself off, then approached the other senshi and extended his hand. “I am Haik, of Currents. Thank you for stepping in to assist, I very much appreciate the gesture.”

Tea smiled after she caught her breath and had also cleaned off any debris from her uniform. "Sailor Chibi Tea, and you're welcome!"
She seemed thoughtful, "Do you really not know about frosty the snowman?" He'd seemed so serious she couldn't tell if he was joking or not. She thought it was a cartoon or at least a story almost everyone had heard, maybe he was from somewhere else??
"Also I like you're tattoo's those are neat." Now she'd had time to look at him something seemed different about him than the senshi she'd normally run into.

Ah, a Chibi Senshi. He thought her aura felt different, though she certainly didn’t look like a chibi anymore.
“Very nice to meet you,” the senshi said with a little bow of his head. Mention of his tattoos brightened his smile, though behind that smile was a shadow of loneliness as it reminded him of his old life. Once that had long since passed, though he had yet to fully move on from it…if he could move on at all.
“And thank you for the kind words. But no, I don’t know this Frosty. I’m new to this planet, actually.” He took a moment to point out his patches of scales and gills. “So this is the first I’ve heard of such a man. As long as he’s as you described earlier, he sounds like someone I would like to learn about, though.”
