The club she was in wasn't her usual, but at the suggestion of her best friend [he always had her best interest at heart], she decided to check it out. So far, it wasn't so bad. The songs were bumping and not overly mainstream with the exception of not like us which seemed to play everywhere. Not that she really minded, but also variety was the spice of life, and she was so about that right now. Idirian was heavy on her mind and that scared her. One night of sex should not do this to her at all, she wasn't some stupid hormonal teenager that fell for everything that had a swinging d**k between their legs, and yet she found herself thinking past that. It wasn't just the sex, it was Idri himself. She wanted to know more about him.

And she shouldn't want that.

Which was the real reason why she was at the club, was to see if she could get through this, prove that it was just a phase that involved amazing sex and that was it. As of right now, she was currently having a nice dance session with a man that checked all the boxes the song Medicate Me by Rain City Drive playing. They were both swaying to the beat, Noa leaning into him while he ran his hands over her hips, keeping respectful but also she was imagining other hands…She shook her head intime with the beat, opening her eyes to look up at the blue that stared down at her.

Why did she wish they were orange?

The next song started to play as the other faded out, Toxic By Kehlani started, and that's when she put on a show for her partner who was just as entranced as he was in the first song. As she got into the song, Noa started to forget her troubles, looking over her shoulder at her partner, biting her lip and crooking her finger the moment Watch Me by bludnymph came on.

Idirian walked into the club, the bassline of the song thudding in his chest. Going out like this wasn’t something he did a lot, but his sister was old enough to look after herself for one night and he needed to stop thinking about a certain green-eyed brat. They’d had one date, and one night of incredible sex and now he couldn’t get her out of his head? ******** terrifying. Not that he’d ever say so out loud. So maybe he could clear his mind with someone else. He leaned on one of the tall tables that ringed the dancefloor, his usual spot since he didn’t like to dance much.

His eyes roamed the dance floor, looking for someone he might want to try and go home with and yet he found himself unconsciously comparing all of them to Noa. That girl didn’t have the hips, the next one was blonde, and all of them were too skinny. With a deep sigh, he rubbed his hands over his face. He had to quit this. Just find an acceptable woman and- <********. There was no way. No way that in this entire city, this just happened to be the club he decided to go to. The same one that Noa had decided to go to. He should just give up and go home for the night. Or find another club because this one was clearly not going to help him get her off his mind. And then he realized she was dancing with someone else. Some other man who had his hands all over her hips. Someone else she was giving that look to.

He had no right to the sudden surge of jealous rage. None whatsoever. And yet he couldn’t deny that’s what it was that made his jaw clench and his fingers itch to start a fight. He couldn’t keep his eyes off her now, watching her dance with this other guy that he just wanted to punch.

Honestly Noa was having fun now that she wasn't really thinking about anything. However, the next song almost had her sighing. The moment she heard the beat, the man behind her started to shift in a way she knew wasn't possible. Try as she might, hands that were a bit on the pale side started to darken. Noa arched mid grind, smoothing her hands down her body to intertwine her fingers with his for a second, while her partners started to move up her breasts gently. She turned her head to n** at his neck, feeling his hardness press into her backside. Something was off about that but she couldn't tell right now, softly singing, “Sugarrrr~” This song usually caused her to get lost, but for some odd reason, she could feel…Eyes on her, which made her want to dance even sexier. Unsure as to why, Noa went with the feeling, looking up into eyes that were orange and not blue, one would be covered and as much as she wanted to know why…Asking should be done at the appropriate time.

Idirian watched as she arched against her dance partner, jealousy simmering in his veins. He shouldn’t want that to be him. He shouldn’t want her to be his. Not this fast. He should leave. Let her have her fun tonight and find his own on another night. But he couldn’t. ********. Move. And when he did finally move, it wasn’t toward the exit. No, he made his way onto the dance floor, feeling the beat of the music as he watched her. Their gazes locked when she looked up just as he was drawing closer to her.

He felt a hand on his chest and he paused, tearing his eyes away from Noa and looking down to see a woman clearly asking him to dance. He was torn. He should want to dance with her, she was beautiful and curvy but her eyes were brown. Not green. Her hair was straight, not curly. Resisting the urge to turn and look at Noa again, he let the woman lead him deeper into the crowd and press her body against his. Closing his eyes for a moment, he rested his hands on her hips that felt too slim and moved to the music.

The spell was broken the moment Idri drifted off, Noa shook her head. God was she that whipped that she imagined the man there?! The next song was up and she had to break away. The man found no issue, slipping his number with a wink. Noa giggled a bit but continued her solo journey, closing her eyes while Gangsta by Kehlani played. There were a couple of solo dancers so she wasn't the only one, however the need to continue to dance for someone that wasn't there caused her to put on a show with another fellow woman dancer who was all but eager to join. They really started to dance as the next song played. Noa locked eyes with another dance partner, giving him a sultry grin as he slowly started to come closer, while she lip sang to the lyrics. Green met orange again [shes really delusional], and this time she actually sang along, “High ********, get your mouth open, you know you're mine~” The beat dropped and she kept singing, “I'll put you first, just close your eyes and dream about it~”

When the song ended, Idirian left the woman who slipped her number in his back pocket. It didn’t matter how hard he had tried to vibe with her, he could only see Noa. He had lost sight of her while he had been dancing but now he looked for her. Another woman tried to stop him but he brushed her off. He had gotten far enough away from her that it took him a while to find her again, dancing with another woman. He wanted to go to her, to pull her against him and maybe even take her to a dark corner where he could shove her panties in her mouth to keep her quiet while he ******** her against a wall, or in a booth. <********, he didn’t need his jeans getting tight now. He had to stop thinking about her. But he couldn’t. Couldn’t stop watching her, even as she found a second man to dance with. Logically, he knew she could have her pick of partners to take home but that primal voice in the back of his mind said that she belonged to him and she was doing this to get him riled up. He shook his head at that, needing to clear it of such thoughts. Noa was her own woman and they had only been on one date. One. Date. That did not constitute a relationship. Not that he wanted a relationship. Damn it, his head was all twisted up with her.

The next time a woman stopped him to dance, he went with her. But she was all wrong. Slim and tall, all hard angles. Not the soft curves he was aching for. Hell, his jeans weren’t even uncomfortable anymore. Sick of this, he walked away from the woman and found Noa once more, dancing with another man. He couldn’t take it. Maybe he just needed to get her out of his system. He flicked a semi-violent glare at the man behind her as he came closer to her.

The next song was a slow number by Lana but that didn't stop Noa from dancing, she adjusted her tempo, swaying with her partner who was content to let her use him as a prop. Had she noticed the man that occupied her every thought coming towards her she would've been shocked. But since she didn't, her body started its slow descent, her hands trailing along his body. When she came back up, green locked with orange and ******** did he look like the demon Lana was talking about. Her body realized it before she did mentally, but the male took note of the glare and promptly made himself scarce. Still feeling the song, Noa started singing, “******** yeah give it to me~” Her body swayed in a tantilizing manner while she kept eye contact, expecting orange to give way to some other color while she danced with some one else. “This is Heaven, what I truly want~”

Idirian moved closer to her, his hands curving perfectly over her hips as he pulled her closer. He kept eye contact with her as he moved with her, part of him wishing that she meant the lyrics she was singing. Why couldn’t he resist her? What was it about her that had him acting like a teenage boy with his first crush? Letting his hormones control his actions. It was ridiculous. But now with her hips under his hands and her eyes on him, something clicked into place. Like it felt right. But he didn’t believe in that s**t, fate and destiny and whatever else. Life sucked, and if you were lucky you found someone to make it suck less. But he didn’t believe in soulmates, not even sure why the word popped into his brain now when he had Noa so close again. Leaning close, he murmured in her ear just loud enough to be heard over the music. “Tell me what you truly want.”

It finally clicked once she felt hands on her hips, hands that she thought she imagined but were very real. Finally her mental caught up to her, green eyes widening with realization. The song moved to the background, her sole focus was finally on the man that she wanted all along, and there was only one answer she could give to him. “You…” She still wasn't sure how she felt, but right now she could care less. All she wanted was the man in front of her that continued to just haunt her every thought, want, and in some cases, her torment. Idirian felt…Right. It was something she tried wrapping her head around but still couldn't figure it out. It was like he was the missing piece in her life that filled a void she didn't know existed. There was a word for that and no she was not going to look into it.

He leaned back again, watching her face. His heart stuttered in his chest at the single word that came out of her mouth. Him? She wanted him? ******** if he didn’t feel the same about her. He didn’t want to look at it too deeply, not wanting to admit even to himself what he might actually feel for her. But they didn’t need words, did they? Not really. Yeah, he could talk to her for hours, and he wanted to. Wanted to know everything about her and tell her…everything about himself. Including the things he never told anyone about, and that was what terrified him. So instead of thinking, he pulled her closer and leaned down to kiss her, nibbling at her lip.

That kiss…Despite the fact that it wasn't deep or fierce, it was everything. Noa’s hands reached up to cup both of Idri’s cheeks, nipping back at his lip in return. There was a warmth that blossomed in her chest, rapidly expanding throughout her body. Her kiss turned more passionate as she pressed herself into Idri with a want so desperate it shook her to the core. Noa wanted… No, she needed Idirian in ways that she couldn't describe. The kiss was the catalyst to something unknown and scary, but she was willing to explore it if Idirian was too. Nothing fast, but maybe something slow and beautiful if they let it happen.

At the feeling of her hands on his face and her body pressing against his, he wrapped his arms around her and kissed her with a hunger he wasn’t used to feeling. Something sparked inside him, something that could be fanned into a flame, if only he wanted it enough. But flames could consume, and that scared him. The idea that one person could become the center of his universe…it ******** terrified him. He wanted Noa with a ferocity that he had never felt before. Breaking the kiss, Idirian cupped her cheek in his hand and brushed his thumb over her skin. Beautiful, and everything he ever wanted, never knew he needed. But he wasn’t sure he was ready for this kind of…whatever was building between the two of them. He ached to take her home, to just hold her, and that was the thought that had him backing away. He wasn’t ready to face whatever this was he was feeling.

Without a word, Idirian turned and left.

There were no words, just…Nothing.

Noa had responded to that hunger with her own, feeling that heat rising from her feet all the way to her heart. She was so ready at that moment, so ready to burn that when Idirian broke their kiss, confusion began to show. Noa frowned but smiled, leaning into that touch, the only one that could set her very soul aflame. But then, he just left. He turned around and took that warmth and fire with him. Not the type to just let things sit, Noa started after Idri, trying to call his name over the loud music. She could see his back, but the crowd of people had grown twice over since she entered the club earlier. Given her smaller height, it made following the tall man damned near impossible.

By the time she did make it outside, Idirian was nowhere to be found.

What?

Did she do something wrong? Was it something she didn't know about? She could feel the pressure of tears trying to fall, which caused her to laugh, angrily wiping at her eyes while she turned and made her way to her car.

Tears? For a man that she had a literal one night with?

She buckled in and looked at her phone, cycling through her contacts till she found the guy that had given her his number earlier, shooting him a message for his address.

Stupid, she was so ******** stupid. This was because of her hormones going wild that was all. She was going to go get laid and forget about what just happened. “Don't do it again Noa. You already went through this once. Never again remember?” She took a deep breath to calm her nerves, glancing down at the responding text with a sad smile.

Looks like that catalyst was a lie after all.
