Working at Ross gave her a sense of normalcy she couldn't find anywhere else.

Noa was proud of her actual job, but it wasn't something she could put on a resume, hence the working at Ross for what's been…..Six years now? That was a long time to be working the same retail job but it's what kept her resume looking pristine. No one would hire her if they knew Only Fans was her actual job, they would instantly show her the door, especially since she's been on the site for ... .Three years now. Her parents didn't know, her friends didn't know and neither did any of her exes. Noa was always careful to keep her face hidden and made sure not to make any sounds whenever she did her solo videos. Nothing was a give away, not even the room she performed in. Her parents wanted her to go to college, which technically she is for business and marketing.

She took breaks often and frankly didn't really want to continue college but it was the one thing that kept her parents off of her back. While putting up some shirts in the teenage girls section she spotted a cute blonde haired girl with a dark and brooding Male behind her. Hopefully they were father and daughter, otherwise she was on the ready to call for security. Couldn't be too careful with anything nowadays.

Idirian crossed his arms over his chest as he followed Ainsley around the store. The new school year was beginning soon and his sister had talked him into taking her shopping for new clothes. Well, let’s be honest. Ainsley rarely had to do much talking her big brother into doing anything for her. She was spoiled rotten and she knew it. She hummed some random song that had been playing on the radio while she looked through some cute skirts. Glancing behind her, she huffed. “Idri, stop looking so scary. People are gonna get weird ideas.”

Idirian just rolled his eyes and shoved his hands in his pockets instead. “People get weird ideas anyway, Ains.” As a tall dark-skinned man, Idirian had his fair share of side eye glances. He kept an eye out around them, needing to make sure that his sister was safe at all times. There was a worker nearby, putting up shirts, but no one else close enough to make him look twice. The worker seemed to be watching them between putting up shirts and he idly wondered what she thought of the pair of them. At best, people thought Ainsley was his daughter. At worst, he had kidnapped her and was some kind of *****. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair, making sure his bad eye stayed covered. Showing off the scar that graced his face made people think even worse things.

Noa supposed she would have to go over to greet the customers eventually. She did hear a bit of their conversation so that caused her to relax a bit as she made her way over, looking at the little girl first. “Hey there~ Did you need any help? Or is your father scaring away all the employees?” The man looked intimidating and just plain angry. Could be he had resting b***h face, something that caused a bit of a snicker as she looked at him. A bit on the taller side, she had to tilt back a bit to look at him, “Are you trying to clear the entire store for your daughter? Don't think that's going to work out sir. Nice try though, I would try to do the same if I had a cutie like her.” Obviously she was trying to suss out what their relationship is, still a tiny bit suspicious, but hopeful that it was all in vain and he was actually the little girl’s relative.

Ainsley turned when she heard a new voice, smiling brightly at the employee. She snickered when the woman assumed they were father and daughter. “He’s definitely good at being scary, but he’s my big brother, not my dad,” Ainsley informed her. “I keep telling him he should do something about his face, but he ignores me. Tragic, really.” The blonde pre-teen went back to looking at skirts, pulling out a short pink and brown plaid one and holding it to her hips.

Idirian let his gaze travel the woman’s body as she spoke to Ainsley. She was definitely his type, not that he did much dating. He never had, really. Nothing about his home life made him want to bring girls home to meet the family. Especially not after his mother died. When Ainsley started talking to her, Idirian rubbed his face. She really had zero filter, and would tell anyone anything. “Brat,” he rumbled before grabbing the skirt away from her. “Too short. You’re only fourteen. Find something more appropriate.” He turned to the employee then. “We’re fine, really. Thanks.”

Big brother it is then~

Cool.
Noa gave the little girl a smile, she was so adorable. “Tragic indeed.” she looked back up at the girl's older brother, “You should listen to your sister and try to smile more. Might attract more people~” She gave him a wink and grabbed a pretty skirt that was just mid knee, “Maybe try this? Not too short and not too long either. I think I can find you a shirt to go with if you’d like?” She did hear the answer the girl's older brother gave but she really wanted to make sure. Sometimes girls needed the eye of another female for attire and she could definitely offer that to her. She only had a little brother and always wanted a little sister but her mother didn't want to have any more children. But that also meant her parents wanted her to settle down and give them grandchildren.

Really? Nah. That's what Toshi was for and they would get over it if she didn't have any children.

Idirian snorted. What made her think he wanted to attract more people? That was kind of the opposite of what he actually wanted. He watched as she offered his sister a different, more appropriate skirt and let himself relax a little. At least she was onboard with age-appropriate clothing.

Ainsley grinned and took the skirt she offered. “Cute!” She looked up at her with a bright smile. “That would be awesome! I usually just have to find stuff by myself, Idri only stands there and looks… Well, he looks like that.” Ainsley gestured to her older brother and rolled her eyes. I’m Ainsley, by the way. What’s your name?”

“Ains, you don’t have to tell her your whole life story.” Not that it mattered what he said to his sister. She would tell the woman whatever she wanted. “We’re not here to make friends, we’re here to shop, and she’s here to get paid.” Idirian was already getting irritable. He hated shopping, and he hated being in public. He tolerated both things for his sister, but even that had its limits. He just wanted her to pick out some clothes so they could go home. Did it have to be a whole production?

“Sure thing sweetie!” Noa worked on finding a shirt that would fit with the skirt, spotting a cute white long sleeved number that would work well. Bringing it up to Ainsley she gave her another smile, “My name is Noa, it's nice to meet you Ainsley.” When she heard her brother---Idiri apparently fuss about making friends and what not she rolled her eyes, making sure he could see it in full. “Well no wonder your sister is “telling her whole life story”. You should really lighten up Idiri, your sister needs to socialize, it's good for her development.” That last bit got on her nerves really quick. “You realize we are not commission based right? We earn an hourly wage, which means I was talking to your sister because I find her endearing and cute. NOT because I'm trying to get paid.” Really, he went from being amusing to labeled as an a*****e in five seconds.

Noa placed her hands on her hips, looking up at the taller man with narrowed eyes. Perhaps it was time for this a** to get a reality check.

Ainsley fully ignored her brother and gasped at the shirt Noa picked out. “It’s perfect!” she squealed happily, putting both items in the cart behind her brother. She let the adults talk for a minute while she looked for another piece she could ask Noa for help with. It was nice having another girl’s opinion and help. She wished her brother felt the same.

Idirian clenched his jaw. Ainsley was the only one permitted to use his nickname. “It’s Idirian,” he corrected her stiffly. “She socializes plenty.” His sister had friends and extracurricular activities. He was always taking her to someone’s house or to the park for her soccer games and practices. That roll of her eyes made his fingers itch to wipe that look off her face. “I’m aware of how retail employees get paid, Noa,” he grumbled. “I meant that it’s not in your job description to cater to eleven year old girls.”

Ainsley rolled her eyes at her brother. “Stop being mean, Idri,” she told him. “Noa’s being really nice and helping me pick out cute clothes so don’t scare her away.” Her brother really needed to stop being so…Idirian. He needed help lightening up since her efforts had all gone to waste, apparently.

Oh seemed like she hit a nerve?

“Well Idirian, perhaps context should be a thing yeah? She rolled her eyes again, “No it's not, but like I mentioned earlier, I like your sister. So therefore, I do not mind catering to her.” Green eyes turned to Ainsley, “That looks pretty cute!” She picked out some pants and a shirt next. “Tell ya what Ainsley. Would you like my number? Anytime you come here or if you need a more feminine opinion send me a text or call and I will help~” Heaven knows Idirian was not going to be that helpful. “I can give my number to you as well if you would like Idirian. Just in case you need advice or anything.” Raising a child that is the opposite gender can be tough.

Ainsley looked over the outfit that Noa picked out next and grinned, adding it to the cart as well. “What do you think of this dress?” she asked, bringing over a purple dress with a floral pattern on it. When Noa offered her number, Ainsley looked up at her with wide eyes. “Really? You mean it?” She would love to have access to someone like Noa who had a good eye for cute clothes, not to mention the fact that she didn’t have any kind of female role model in her life.

“You give your number out to a lot of little girls?” Idirian snarked. He arched an eyebrow when she offered it to him as well. He took a moment to actually consider it. With Ainsley getting older, she was starting to ask questions he didn’t know how to answer. Maybe it would be helpful to have someone he could ask for advice. Not that he was good at that. He had spent most of his life having to do everything for himself; asking for help, especially with his own sister, felt too much like admitting weakness. And weakness was never allowed. Showing weakness gave someone the ability to hurt you, and Idirian had been hurt enough in his life.

But for Ainsley… For his sister, Idirian would do anything. Including taking the number of some random Ross employee with a bratty attitude. He sighed and pulled his phone out, offering it to Noa.

“I think the purple would go great with your skin tone~” She made sure to nod at Ainsley, giving the little girl her number then looked back at Idirian with a look of pure annoyance. “No, just the ones I know would benefit from my help. Do you go around snarking at everyone you meet like an elder who needs their depends changed?” She didn't even wait for an answer, “I think not.” She gave him a triumphant smirk, putting her number into his phone, “There, that wasn't so hard now was it?” her attention was back on Ainsley next, “I'll let you shop more but if you need me, come find me alright?” She would have to go to a different section, but she was tall enough that the girl could spot her in a crowd.

Ainsley grinned and immediately put Noa’s number in her phone and the dress in the cart. “Thank you! I definitely will,” she beamed at the older woman before wandering off to find more clothes and shoes to go with her outfits. Idirian looked upward as if praying for deliverance from bratty women. What he would give to be able to put her over his knee… He sent her a quick text with his name in it so she would know it was his number and wondered if he needed to tell Ainsley to do the same. “Thanks,” he said gruffly. “I guess.”
