Danalite hadn’t done much for herself lately. She had been good! Been recruiting. Been doing her best with new blood. Keeping them active and happy. But…she deserved to be happy too…and for that, tonight she was after her own blood. Just for funsies.
If not blood, then at the very least a starseed. Something pretty. Something she could keep in a jar and admire from time to time. It was always good to see Starseeds. Honestly, it was one of her fondest memories. Seeing her own. The pain was worth it, and the pain of corruption had been worth it too…now she was a self proclaimed expert in pulling others starseeds, and she enjoyed every moment.
There was a Senshi nearby and she toyed with the idea of walking over, running over or just being absolutely extra and teleporting. Honestly…they all had their benefits, but she chose to teleport, landing right behind the Senshi and wrapping an arm around his shoulders, her fingertips just inching into his chest. “Hey there~ What are you doing tonight, handsome? Wanna have some fun?”
Well…trick question. She would have fun, at least.

Cleeia was a little antsy. The positive kind of antsy, though, which was nice since usually he just got...anxious...about everything, always. But things had felt like they were looking up, lately, after really digging into being a Senshi, and visiting his world, and getting out there and...everything. He'd even mostly managed to avoid any serious trouble!
And tonight, he was waiting for Gelria so they could do some patrolling together, which made the whole prospect way more appealing. Gelria was stringer than him, magically speaking (and physically speaking if everyone was being entirely honest with each other) and that meant he'd definitely be safe. And sure, Gelria was a little late, but that was fine, Cleeia trusted him to get there.
Except that suddenly, Cleeia was not alone.
Extremely suddenly.
And in an intensely uncomfortable way.
The aura of a Negaverse General felt both shocking and almost choking, appearing like that, and it sent a jolt of fear up his spine.
And her fingers were sinking into his chest.
He was trapped. Helpless. The thing he had always feared.
"I have a boyfriend," he said, and he wished he didn't sound so scared. "So get off me, or he'll make you regret ********, ********, <******** class="quote">Orangeish Sherbert

“Your point?” Danalite laughed, delighted with the fact that the poor thing sounded terrified. “I can handle myself from any sort of boyfriend. I think I have one too, maybe a girlfriend too? I’m not really sure, I’ve been bad at keeping in touch and that’s absolutely on me.”
Her voice was conversational, and she moved slightly so that she was in front of him, hand slipping all the way in. “Also, just because you have a boyfriend, doesn't mean that he’ll have one by the time we’re done playing…did you think of that?”
Danalite chuckled and wrapped her hand lightly around his starseed. “Tell me, have you ever seen your soul? I think that Starseeds are the prettiest things in the world. I used to be a Page, you know. Weak. Helpless. My boyfriend would show me my starseed from time to time…it was always so lovely…”

"My point is that he's supposed to meet me here, and he's going to catch you, and he's going to make you regret this."
Cleeia was pretty sure his defiance would have a lot more weight to it if his voice wasn't shaking and if he wasn't frozen in place. If he had it in him to struggle, to get her hand off him, to do literally anything other than just stand there with a General's hand on his ******** starseed, while she played with him like he was some kind of doll.
It made him nauseous.
"Kill me, and he'll kill you. He hates you Negaverse freaks." He said, like he hadn't been one of them once. "So if you want to go home to your boyfriend and girlfriend or--whatever you've got going on, you sohuld really, really just let go of me and walk away, and then everyone comes out of this alright."
Surely Gelria would be here soon, and then he'd be safe--even if he did pull his starseed out before Gelria arrived, Gelria would get it back. He had to believe that. Had to trust that he was going to be saved, because right then, in that awful moment, there was nothing he could do to save himself.
"Anyway, I don't want to see my starseed again, why don't you just leave it where it is?"
It hurt, so bad, to have her hand in his chest like that--an agony hew hadn't known since he'd been corrupted. He'd really, really hoped he would never have to feel that again, but clearly no such luck.
"Or if you're going to do it, just do it and stop screwing around." There, that was very brave. Or ******** he hoped she didn't listen to him. Or that he was right and Gelria was close by.

“Hmm~” Danalite simply laughed and thought for a moment. “Maybe I’ll leave him something real pretty to remember you by, or, maybe I could just bring you in and have you join our ranks, that might be even better. Then he can see what a handsome fellow you could be.”
Truly though, she didn’t have the patience or the desire to deal with a broken, mindless corrupted Senshi, if he had been more her type…that would have been different, but the threat was fun enough.
No, he would be dead by the end of this if she had anything to say about it.
“Or, oh! Tell me! Which of your arms is your favorite? I could leave that for him to remember you by!”
She wasn’t sure if her swords could remove limbs but…it was interesting and she could try, at the very least. She was strong enough to do damage…and she could leave a finger or two if it came to it.
“So, joining us against your will, or leaving an arm behind for your beloved. What’s your choice?” Pausing, Danalite gave a small snort. “Suppose if you’re choosing it it won’t be against your will, now will it? So. Tell me your favorite arm~”

Apparently, Cleeia was learning, there was a point where he passed frozen panic and got so terrified that it spurred him into actual action.
Apparently, that point was being threatened with getting dragged back into the Negaverse.
"You're gonna have to kill me, because if you try to drag me back I'll fight you every step of the way," he said. He also wasn't exactly into the idea of losing an arm, or anything else, but...death before getting recorrupted. Maybe. At the least, recorruption sounded far worse.
So he drove his elbow backwards, twisting at the same time in an attempt to get out of her grip. If his starseed went, his starseed went, and he'd just have to trust that he'd get put back together.

Truthfully, Gelria was in a really good mood. It was a lovely night, the drinks in his hands were warm, almost to the point of being uncomfortable, but the idea of sitting with Cleeia and sharing them was worth it.
Of course, a good mood could fade quickly, and when he felt the aura of a General, and one of another Senshi…a weaker Senshi…
Fear began to quietly flood him and he sped up. It was difficult to run with the drinks in his hands, but he managed well enough, and as he came upon the sight that made him want to be sick, at least for a moment.
Cleeia, with someone’s hand in his chest. He was fighting, but…it wasn’t the advisable kind of fighting. It was the kind that could easily get him killed, if this b***h had her hands on his Starseed…
He swallowed and then shook his head, chucking first one, then the second drink at the purple haired General. “Get your stupid, ugly hands off of him. It’s been a while since I’ve killed one of you assholes, but don’t think I don’t remember how.”

“Back?” There was a note of glee in Danalite’s voice as she jumped on the snippet of information. “So you’re a traitor!” Well, killing a traitor was as far from frowned upon as something could be, though when he jammed his elbow into her, and then a moment later not one but two cups filled with hot liquid hit her right in the side of the face, she screamed, squeezing his starseed hard before her hand slid out and she flew a few steps backwards, trying to get as much of the hot liquid off of her as possible.
“Your boyfriend, I presume?” Her voice was mocking, and her face still held a smirk and some of her bravado, but her swords were suddenly in her hands. “Guess it’s time for slice and dice.”

There he was. Cleeia cried out in pain when she squeezed his starseed, but at least her hand was out of his chest and he could stumble backwards and get some space between them.
"Yeah, I'm a traitor by your standards," he said, "and I told you, I'm not going back." And now that he wasn't alone, that seemed way, way more likely to be true.
"Gelria, I'm really glad you're here," he said, and he wasn't going to dignify her "boyfriend" comment with a response. The answer was obvious. "Secret Inspiration!"
Either it would help or hurt and frankly, Cleeia was one hundred percent willing to roll those dice right now, with a crazy General with swords coming at him.Quote: Super Sailor Scout Attack: Secret Inspiration! Cleeia speaks the name of his attack, drawing the form of a strange glyph in the air, which appears glowing yellow as he draws it. The glyph glows, and then bursts into yellow mist, expanding out to six feet around Cleeia. Anyone within the mist finds themself seized with mad inspiration--they feel as if they suddenly understand how to get past any roadblocks they've been experiencing how to sort their s**t out in general, et cetera. This fervent inspiration lasts for 30 seconds, and then ends dramatically, leaving the target suddenly devoid of the understanding they had. It can leave behind a lingering sensation that if only they could remember, they would be able to fix all their problems, or other haunting effects at player discretion. Cleeia can use this magic twice per battle.

Gelria reached out and took hold of Cleeia, drawing the other Senshi behind him. “I’m so sorry I was late.” The words were soft, and there was a definite tone of worry in his voice. He shouldn’t have been late. This wasn’t supposed to have been a situation where late played any kind of a part. This was a standard patrol with nice hot drinks…and it had turned into something sinister…
And now the hot drinks were gone too…well. Better them than Cleeia. He knew that for damn sure.
“Get the ******** out of here, I won’t hesitate.”
His words were louder, colder and he held his hand out. “Cinnamon Challenge!” There was no holding back. He had been threatened. Someone he loved had nearly been killed, and this was not the time to hold back at all. If the woman didn’t have the sense to leave…he would enjoy choking the life out of her. It had been far too long, after all.

Danalite gave a growl when the Senshi moved away from her, and as she shook her head again, magic hit her and suddenly…
Suddenly her thoughts were everywhere. There was so much to be done. So much to do, she could do anything. And with these two…perhaps bringing them both in would solidify something…if this angry orange one was as tough as he was pretending…
Her eyes were bright and were flickering between the two, eager to take them away. To get them corrupted. To get herself a whole horde of little black clad Senshi…
And then, suddenly she couldn't breathe. THere was something in her mouth, in her throat…it was burning she was burning and she couldn’t get it out. She was choking. Fear suddenly shone in her eyes and again she looked between the two, getting rid of her swords and trying to pry her mouth open, desperate to get whatever was inside of it out. It burned and was dry and she needed to cough…
Tears began to stream from her eyes and before it got too…before she lost too much dignity, she teleported, getting out of there and hoping that it would allow for her to breathe again.

Oh yes. Cleeia really, really liked this thing that was happening where Gelria got between him and the very scary General. If he was maybe a bit fluttery and swoony over it, that was a super normal reaction.
"It's okay. You got here just in time, I think," he said, softly.
And it worked, anyway!! His amgic distracted the General, Gelria's made her choke, and she was gone.
They were safe.
Cleeia wrapped his arms around Gelria's arm, leaning against him.
"Let's get out of here," he said, softly. "Please. I don't want to think about this anymore."

Gelria almost protested, almost said that they should talk about this so that he could figure out what had happened, and where he had gone wrong, but instead, he wrapped an arm around Cleeia’s shoulders and nodded. “All right. Let’s just go home. I think there’s some hot chocolate mix there, we can just…relax for a little bit. No stress. You’re safe, and I’ve got you.”
Chaos…was obviously still a problem…and even though he had been…keeping to his own business for a while…maybe.
Maybe it was time for Gelria to start his hunts again. Not patrols. Just. Going to weed the Chaos out of the city.
Clearly, it was needed.
Pressing a kiss to Cleeia’s ear, he sighed. “I won’t let this happen to you again. I swear it.”

"That sounds so perfect," Cleeia said. He knew he should talk about it. Knew that unpacking this whole situation was for the better in the long term. But also, like. He didn't want to do the healthy thing, he wanted to go home with his boyfriend and pretend he hadn't just had an awful near-death experience.
"I trust that no matter what happens, I'm safe with you."
And maybe....he needed to be a better Senshi. Needed to push himself more. Because he certainly wasn't accomplishing anything this way, stumbling around like he was.
So. Resolution. Git gud, as the gamers said.
