Kemi was secretly thrilled that it was getting to that time of year again where the weather was cold, and the lights were twinkling. Cozy.
She was on a walk with Arthur and looked down at the Mauvian with a fond smile. “I can’t believe that it has been nearly a year since I arrived on Earth…the time has passed quickly.”
Except for the summer…now, that had dragged on…and as much as Kemi craved warmth…it had gotten…
It had been a little too warm for her tastes. At least at times.
She hadn’t really…accomplished much…but she had made several…well. Not just allies. Several friends...and really? It was odd, but she was very close to feeling…truly happy.
“Are we going to celebrate this year? I think that we should. We can get ourselves a tree, and some lights…I do so love the Holiday lights, Arthur. They are some of the warmest things I have ever seen.”
Not temperature wise…but…emotionally? She wasn’t sure if that was the right word, but they made her feel good. And she liked that.

Arthur walked along, four feet on the ground, alongside Kemi. The winter weather was just starting, making the days a soft shade of gray. Wet leaves still coated the ground and there was the smell of cold rain in the forecast. Many businesses had ignored Thanksgiving, putting up their Christmas lights and piping out holiday music to jumpstart the Holiday Cheer.
"If you'd like. I usually just put up decorations." He said, a large feat for a small cat. It was a lot easier now with his ability to disguise his signature in humanoid form, but he hadn't had anyone at home for years to celebrate with. it just came back to him watching Hallmark Romance movies while he ate Christmas meal he ordered a month back to be delivered to his residence. Then the night was usually wrapped up with him curled up on the couch feeling lonely with a upset stomach from too much food.
"That sounds nice. We'll have to go shopping them to pick ourselves a nice tree. And stockings too."
Arthur looked about, walking alongside the other as things felt quieter. "Kemi, I have something important to talk about. A bit of a - celebration before the holidays. You've come a long ways, you know." They were more and more native as the days went by, even if every day still held the passing new discovery.

“I would truly like that, Arthur. I’m very glad that I have you to celebrate with, and hopefully some friends as well!” Fiona might want to come over at some point. They could all watch movies together…and it would be lovely.
She looked down at the Mauvian and gave a warm smile, finally bending down and scooping him into her arms, holding his warm, white form against her chest. “Thank you. I have tried. Acclimating has been…difficult but…I’ve enjoyed it. Enjoyed making friends. Allies. I think…I’m going to start seeing what I can do for my homeworld…my home…soon. At some point.”
Shrugging, Kemi gave a sigh. “I should stop putting it off. But…I enjoy the Earth, quite a bit. I’m so thankful to you for helping me and being my first friend…you have been a lifeline, Arthur.”

A bit of warmth was always welcomed, and Arthur trilled when he was picked up. Soon he pressed the top of his head against Kim's chin, purring in response to their shared excitement for the holidays. A excitement that Kim was rekindling with their plans.
"As many friends as you want. Holidays are for gathering after all and appreciating those around you."
"I haven't had someone around for the holidays for a while now. I'm feeling a bit more in the spirit." He admitted, sinking into the hold as they continued to walk.
"Yes. When I awoke, the world felt new to me too. I had far more understanding of the world and a lot less of who I was. I have never had memory of my homeland. It's lost to us Mauvians. Cherish that place. Your other home, but remember that you always have a place here too." And he hoped that it would stay that way. Still, among the memories they were creating, he worried about a future where they parted ways. Where Kim went to either live on their own or moved off to better than old home.
Now wasn't the time for such grim thoughts.
"You have been as much a pleasure and a support. I was rather down in the dumps before you showed up. It's nice to have a friend like you again."
Another press of his head against their chin as he spoke.
"And your growth has showed. I can feel it. The part of you that is brimming with power and potential pushing out. Like a bright light bursting in a small ball. It's time to give that power some more room to grow." Arthur stared up at Kim.
"Will you do me the honors of bringing out your powers to your next step?"

Kemi froze, but looked down at Arthur, feeling as though she had just been stunned by a sharp and unexpected blow.
“Wait. What? I…I thought that I would never regain any…any of my…my strength back…you…you’re saying I can?”
She heard his other words, had wanted to make a sweet comment back, but…this threw her for a loop. “I would be…I would be honored to have you do that for me…” Tears suddenly filled Kemi’s eyes and she had no hands free to brush them away, but it was all right. She trusted Arthur. She could be emotional in front of this trusted friend.
“When I lost my powers…I used to be an Eternal Senshi, Arthur…I was strong…I figured…it was just punishment…as my world…died…I lost my strength…but…”
If she were going to be getting strength back. Swallowing, Kemi gently put Arthur on the ground, after pressing a kiss to the star on his forehead. A show of affection and thanks. “...If I can get stronger again…I can’t keep avoiding my world…I hope that you’ll help me figure out how best to fix it? Can I count on you, when I…when the time comes?”

"I wasn't sure myself. You were still recovering when I met you, and while I saw your power grow, I did not know if it would be stunted. With the state of your home world, your future wasn't fully clear to me. I had hope though, and I had noticed in time that you were growing as much as anyone might. I was - relieved for you." If they didn't grow any power at all, it meant the connect to the homework was too strained and the planet too far gone. It could also mean they might even suffer in time being so far away.
At her broken words, he moved up to press his head back under her head. "You are not punished. You have done well, and it shows."
The kiss to the star sent a jolt down his back, a direct patch of his own power brushing against hers.
To her question, he took a deep breath. "I will always do my best for your happiness." Even if it might mean loosing a friend to go back to their proper home again.
"Come. Let's fine someplace private." He said, and trotted forward, turning to find them a nice spot in a small courtyard. He slipped through the gate and then turned, finding it quiet and secluded in what probably was a nice spot to get away during the day. The vegetation had died but the shrubs still had their leaves. The trees overhead were barren aside form a few dried leaves.
"Come and stand before me. If you can give me your henshin pen." He said, waiting for the item.

Kemi nodded, following and producing her pen, holding it out to Arthur, and then laying it on the ground in front of him. “I don’t want to leave you. I hope you know that. I just…want to make sure my world is okay…that my home is okay…”
She was…so very fond of this Mauvian, and the thought of abandoning him was…well. It wasn’t something to be considered.
He was her rock. The one thing she had been able to rely on. The reason she had been able to go out and make friends...the reason she wanted to go out and try her best.
Slowly, she knelt down on the ground before him, not wanting to stand….Mauvians were so small compared to standing people. Her tail curled around herself as she waited, excited, and a little nervous, not that she wanted to show that part.

He paused a moment before looking up, embarrassed that he might have had his emotions on his shoulders to have Kemi notice. "Thank you....I appreciate that. I'd hate to miss you."
Kneeling down, he paused again.
"First time doing someone like you. Let's see how this goes." He said, and took the pen in his mouth.
"Duf a momnt." He muttered and stepped back just a little.
The Mauvian's star started to glow, sending a soft halo of light around them in the dark quiet of the courtyard. Little specks of power pooled in, lighting up the hensin pen as it was hardly able to recognize the details any longer. Then, in a spring of action, the Mauvian jumped high into the air, tumbling about as a furry ball of white fur and light. Over their tail and tails they tumbled down and landed back to the ground once more, landing softly as if floating.
To this, they set the pen back down. New. Transformed. Now able to act as the key to unlock their power past their previous confines. "It should be ready now." He said, a little winded.
"It just needs the magic words. The same ones you've used before, but now Super."

Kemi watched, enchanted by how skilled Arthur was, and when the newly changed Henshin Pen was finished, she picked it up lightly and got back to her own feet. “The magic words…hm?”
From what she could tell…it was perfect. Although…she truly couldn’t quite recall what it had looked like when she first attained the rank of super…she could tell that…it would work.
If she only believed in it.
“Kemi Asteroid Power…Make-Up.”
The power rushed into her, and her outfit changed. The wings on her head fluttered, excited. Eager. There was more fabric again, and a long bow with tails that nearly reached the ground.
She felt stronger again too…and it was wonderful.
Laughing, relief and joy and a whole slew of emotions that she couldn’t quite name were flooding her, and she drew Arthur into her arms again, planting half a dozen kisses all over his face.
“Thank you…thank you oh, Thank you!” It was more than she had ever expected. And she wasn't going to waste it.

It was always a surprise how the power would manifest into their uniform. It was always a layer of more details, and bows were always a theme of sailors. It was like how you knew a cowboy from their hat or a fireman from their coats. It was part of the symbol of who they were.
Standing proud, Kemi finished their transformation. It was still at it's heart, the foundation of their uniform, but now there was a flowing skirt, bows, and the addition of a stripped skirt. "Oh wonderful. The layers should help in winter." He said, glad for them to get something that wouldn't mean more could arms during the brisk winds of the city.
In a sweeping flurry, Arthur was scooped up and laughed as he was pecked over and over. "It's all you! No need for thanks. This is all your power. And you look wonderful! What a lovely new uniform." And still a lovely tail that often made Arthur think they were part Mauvian.

Kemi laughed and shook her head. “Thank you. Thank you. But it couldn't have happened without you.” She fully believed that, and would take that belief to the grave if she had to. Arthur had wrought a change within her, and without him? Kemi wasn’t sure where she would be, but being a Super Senshi again wasn’t anywhere near the list of things she could vaguely think about.
“Should we go home? Do you want to stop somewhere and get food and then go home…and figure out what we’ll decorate?”
Truly, she didn’t want to have to fight anyone or anything tonight, and the thought of just going home and being with Arthur?
That was what made her feel the happiest.
