Apart from that woman under the creepy light of the evil faced Moon, Magion really hadn’t met anyone…bad. She knew there was Chaos on this planet, and plenty of it, but thus far, she had been lucky…or at least. She had always considered it lucky.

Really, if she had to meet someone who was truly evil…she had hoped that Bifrost would have been with her, but as she crept towards the overwhelmingly…awful aura, and as her eyes fell on the blue haired…the blue haired…

Thing. Her heart sunk. This…this was real Chaos. Sickening and oppressive and awful.

The woman…the creature made her want to turn tail and run back home as fast as she could. To go back up to Magion and just hide for a while.

The aura alone made her tremble, but she swallowed and reached slowly into subspace, pulling out a tupperware container with a few chocolate chip muffins in it.

Her last meeting with Urda had told her that bringing snacks was good, and she had started packing them for when she went on patrol. “...U-um…hi there…do you…eat muffins?”

That seemed a more friendly greeting than, ‘what are you’. She figured that…such a question would have the…the thing attacking her without question. And that was if the creature was sentient.

Lavendulan almost smirked at the Senshi’s timid approach, the uneasy shake to her voice when she finally spoke, like every molecule in her body was screaming at her to run while the physics of the encounter of opposites attract pulled her closer.

Curiosity? Maybe… As a half-youma, she was under no illusion of how foreign or peculiar she appeared to those unfamiliar with her existence.

But no, she did not make any sound or even move, but she remained in place nearly motionless save for the steady gave that shifted so ever slightly with the girl's movements, or slight rise and fall of her chest as she breathed and periodic blink. “You’re either very brave, or very foolish.” She wanted to add ‘little one’ to the comment as the girl appeared rather young but knew that Lavendulan was shorter at full height.

Aside from her aura, she felt unthreatened by the little White Moon Senshi and knew that if she turned hostile then a quick dip in the cold reservoir would set her straight. Nothing said calm down like being teleported underwater and having to swim to get air. So, to humor the girl who came bearing gifts, she sat down on the grass and propped an elbow on one knee. Wolframite might scold her for her, but Laven was not feeling in the mood to fight tonight.

“However, it has been a while since I’ve had a muffin.” She patted the ground beside her welcomingly.

“I’m um…I’m neither, but I am curious…is…I haven’t…”

Magion drew in a breath, trying to calm her frantically beating heart and moved to sit across from the…woman? The voice sounded feminine, and she looked feminine.

Swallowing, she held the container out, allowing the creature to pick first and hoping that this was the right kind of polite. “I’ve…never…seen…or met or…felt anyone that…”

She hesitated, trying to word this right. Trying not to sound absolutely disrespectful. But.

“...What are you? Why do you…”

Drawing in a breath, Magion pushed forward. “What happened to you? Is this very common on…on Earth?”

For all she knew it was. For all she knew that other Senshi. The Dark Senshi had been some kind of a fluke and this…this was how the Chaos really manifested.

…It was frightening.

The girl was definitely full of curious questions.

Lavendulan raised a brow and waited for the senshi to take a breath before attempting to answer at least a few of her curiosities.

“I am a half-youma.” She reached a clawed hand out and plucked a muffin from the container, pausing only a moment when she noticed the girl tense. “There are others like me, yes. But none that share my characteristics. Not exactly anyway.” The exception was Amazonite but she wasn’t about to share that detail.

“My circumstances are unique,” Laven turned her attention to the muffin, turning it around appraisingly. She poked at the paper wrapper, peeling it back in one spot but didn’t pluck a piece from it- not yet anyway. “I suppose you could say the youma saved my life.” Although a Captain was the one who almost ended it. “I’m a product of circumstance and have had to learn how to live with these changes.” Her shoulders rose in a nonchalant shrug.

“Am I really the first half-youma you’ve seen?” Laven asked curiously since there were a number of them running around the Dark Kingdom, including a particular General King that she evaded.

A youma? What was a youma? Magion felt like she knew that answer, that it was something Bifrost had told her about, but she was drawing an absolute blank. She reached in and took the second muffin and took a large bite off of the top, not bothering to remove the paper yet. The tops of the muffins were the best part, and half the time…though she tried not to, half the time she didn’t really want to eat the bottom part…

“Um…that is correct, I’ve…honestly not met much of the Chaos on this planet. There was another Senshi, and she wasn’t…normal like I was…but you…you are very different…”

And she wasn’t sure it was a good thing but at least…at least she was talking like a civilized person.

“...The way that you feel makes my skin crawl…why…have you given yourself to Chaos? Was it a choice? Why…would you do that to yourself…” Saving a life or not…how could anyone want to live like that?

Lavendulan froze, the air around becoming even more chill as a thin layer of rime started to spread from the ground beneath her.

She wanted to correct the girl, tell her that she did not choose Chaos, that she had been unaware of the choice to switch sides until the choice was no longer an option. Purification was mentioned only after Wolframite had become someone important to her, the same with Lopezite and Tinaksite. But had she known the day it all happened, she’d have risked all or nothing to have never been thrust into a war of magic.

But this senshi was no friend to confide in. Though he might suspect these feelings, she’d even kept them guarded from her friend and General. “Simply put, I was chosen and accepted my role,” she replied, though it was by no means an easy transition.

“There are, however, a few things I do miss doing as a human,” Laven admitted, unaware that her passive had activated in her moment of emotional turmoil.

She shifted, then blinked down with a startled look when the grass crunched beneath her weight. “My apologies…” she murmured before consciously willing the path of frost away.

Magion frowned and hesitated before reaching out and laying a hand on Laven’s arm, eyes filled with sympathy. “Is there no way for someone to help you? Can’t the Chaos be removed? I was told it was bad on Earth–and it’s…it’s bad on my Homeworld too…I do understand…but is there no way to help you?”

The frost that was spreading was alarming to her, and she felt so much compassion towards the woman. Not a creature at all…just someone as lost as she was.

At least…that was what she was thinking.

“I am Magion…the Senshi of Relaxation…I’m glad that I was able to meet you…and if I can ever offer you help…I will. And I do…I am sorry that you are no longer a human…”

Though the touch was gentile it felt like an electric jolt raced up her arm and down her back. In warning, Lavendulan’s pupils pulled into thin slits.

Her youma nature did not appreciate the contact but her humanity missed kind gestures such as these. An unusual curiosity but unapproachable. Throughout her tenure, most officers looked at her with disdain which made her more guarded.

But this was… fine… or it would be if Magion was just a civilian and not a White Moon senshi. Though a Dark Mirror would have probably been worse given Wolframite’s experience with the faction.

“No,” she replied, shifting to the right and withdrawing from the touch. “I’m not looking for salvation or to switch sides. I am as I will be and hope you know that under different circumstances talking as we are now might not be an option.” She wanted to offer her name in kind but Lavendulan was often illusive and wanted to remain unknown. They’d more than likely never meet again anyway so it wouldn’t matter.

“Be careful who you approach, Magion.” she cautioned before rising to her feet. “Not all of us are willing enough to talk. Even this was unusual for me.” Not entirely true but she did not want word being spread that she was approachable.

She didn’t wait for a response or nod of acknowledgment before teleporting away, not back to the Dark Kingdom, not yet. But just to a place she knew that she’d be left to her own thoughts.

Magion wanted to respond. Wanted to reassure the woman…wanted to be friends. She was like…Elsa from that Frozen movie…she was sad and it was getting cold. Freezing...and that…just made her want to help all the more.

She listened as the woman spoke, and opened her mouth to say something in return, anything. When suddenly…she was just. Gone.

Vanished into nothingness.

Fear shot through Magion as she remembered that horrible cube again, and she hoped, desperately hoped that the woman hadn’t been dragged into that Hell…

She waited for a few minutes, and finally, picked herself up and walked, trembling only slightly.

Home.
