It took a considerable amount to really rattle Magion. However, the moment that the black clad Senshi vanished under the same kind of moon that had caused herself to vanish, that was it. Magion was absolutely lost. She continued to stare, hoping that it was simply a trick. That the mean, poisoning Senshi would reappear. That she hadn’t been taken into that nightmare as well…
If only she would have listened to Magion! If only she would have been careful and not been so…well. So mean...then she might still be around…
Still be alive?
Magion hadn’t died in that place…so there was no reason to think that anyone else would..but. That was what she was thinking about. Worried about. Dreaded. She had failed someone. Someone who hadn’t liked her, to be sure…but someone who had a life! Who had friends...and if she would have just listened…if she wouldn’t have been so mean…
Magion swallowed and began to take slow, small steps backwards, not looking to the ground, and not looking towards the Moon either. Honestly…where was she supposed to look in such a world?
Finally, she was far enough away that she turned and began to keep walking, keeping her eyes lowered, not wanting to see the leering, awful face glaring down at her. She was going to go home. She was going to go home to Mary’s place and bury her head underneath a pillow. Was going to sleep and just…not think for a while and get this out of her mind.
Her steps began to quicken and she still refused to look at the Moon. Refused to let her mind think of anything. People vanishing. People dying. It was things she…was very good at keeping buried. Very good at not dwelling on, but…
Finally, Magion powered down and began to run flat out, Damaris looking straight ahead as she neared Mary’s place.
Neared her home. Her second home, but…still the best home she had lived in for a very long time…it. It was so good not to have to be alone. The last living person on the island. The only one who hadn’t gotten old and passed away. She honestly. Wasn’t quite sure why, and had always assumed it was just the planet keeping her going. Keeping her safe. Keeping the Senshi of Magion safe but…
There had never been any doubt in her mind or her heart that there were others still alive on her planet. There was no reason that they shouldn’t be. There were seven other islands, weren’t there? Surely one of them held life. One of them held people who would be excited…apprehensive? Who would be…
There for her to meet when she was able to destroy that horrible storm…
After she built boats again. After she…fixed things.
There had never been any doubt at all…but right now…right now there was a little. Niggling and uncomfortable. Damaris tried to shove it away as she entered the house and made her way to her bedroom, but…it was difficult. And now that it had been somewhat acknowledged…
She honestly doubted that it would ever really go away again.
