Virtues // Flaws
Virtues:Compromising: If, at all possible, Divya prefers to avoid conflict. As means of resolution, she often tries to propose various suggestions as a means to come to an amicable agreement to curb any animosity that might arise. In business ventures, this is a means to insure that both parties involved in an arrangement are equally benefited from the outcome. Nobody should walk away from the table feeling slighted.
Acts of Service: Her love language and how she shows she cares or appreciates someone. Coming from a family where money wasn't an issue she found more value in time spent over material objects. At a young enough age, she had learned the caveats that come along with accepting gift-giving and often feels uneasy in this sort of relationship or friendship. Often times acts of service this is seen through volunteering to help out clients by offering simple flower arrangements for a guest sign-in book at reception because they had a tight budget and only had a simple stand. Or staying up late helping put together the guest gifts with the bride because she was feeling too anxious to sleep and needed a tedious task to keep calm.
It's All in the Details: Divya is meticulous in her work, not quite to the point of being a perfectionist but it gets a bit close sometimes. The end result almost always pays off. She has contingencies for her contingencies to make sure that plans run smoothly. In her hobbies, this is incredibly present in her mandala art. For work, this is her strategy plan tied to proposals and budget expense reports.
Flaws:Self Sacrificing: When born and raised to fill a role where she was taught that all her actions is a reflection of the family and the company, Divya learned at a young age that the sense of self or desire to pursue her individuality should be put aside for the betterment of her obligations and to save face. She loves her parents dearly, and she genuinely believes that this wasn't their intention when impressing these values onto her. But as she grew up, Divya had reached a point of not wanting to express her own opinions or wants in exchange for the happiness of others instead and tried to find her joy through their triumphs and successes.
Assumes Ulterior Motives: No good deed goes unpunished and no gracious gift is given without expectations. Over time she has adopted the belief that there is an ulterior motive attached to any kind gesture. It's a cruel world where the goodness of people has been often replaced by that of greed and envy. Genuine friends were difficult to come by growing up but has been made easier since leaving India where nobody knows her or her family and she can be judged based on her own achievements and merits instead of privilege given by family wealth and old money.
Wall of Masks Divya is guarded, not so much since she moved to Destiny City where there was an ocean between her and her family and the people who would make her feel worthless because of their envy or greed; undeserving of what she had because it was not earned in their eyes. It's less prevalent in the States because she got her degree here and has earned the valid licences, she has a home that she pays for with her own money and not reliant of her parents for help. But, there is definitely the Business Mask, and the Fake it Till I Make It and The Good Daughter for when she's conscripted into doing something, like going out when she'd rather head home for the night to get rest because there was work to get done the next day. Somewhere on the wall is her own mask but it has been covered up enough that it's hard to find since it's rare that she feels free enough to truly be herself.
