This godforsaken city was a nightmare and Luciana was already not amused by the horrendous infrastructure and road layout. Tonight she had to head from her new home to head over to the storage unit that had been set up while she'd been moving stuff here. The movers handled it all while her passport and visa were being prepared.
The problem was that none of the roads made sense to her and nothing was easily discernable to her. So again and again she walked right past the building she needed to go to while she frustratedly zoomed in and out of the GPS map on her phone.
It didn't even occur to her that she'd kicked something with her foot until she looked up and saw the city was gone, replaced by some sort of odd path. Looking around, she was in disbelief at what she was seeing. She'd been spirited away? But she'd thought that was only a fairy tale, maybe she'd tripped and she was just knocked out. Either way, she tucked her phone away and looked down at the small dice laying before her feet.

Kicking the dice as she stood on this odd gameboard, she felt like this might be the place to try something out. That pendulum that had showed up when something had tried to chase her, she hadn't really done anything with it and now she figured might be a good time to see what she could do with it.
The odd outfit that came with the dulled pendulum was something not so fashionable but at least it felt sturdy, like a worker's uniform. Something about it helped her feel a little less out in the open as she moved forward to where the dice said to go. It stung as she went through the squares but when she got to six, she couldn't cheat and move forward anymore.
She'd grabbed the dice to continue with it but felt something shoot by her ear. Flinching and swinging the pendulum out in an arc, another sound came as a bolt of air hit the thing. The reverberation that went through it and up her arm sucked but at least she knew it wasn't something that bent or broke. That meant she could hit things with it right?

The dice rolled high, whatever this place was it seemed luck was on her side and she managed to get out and away from whatever had been whizzing by. But when she crossed the threshold of the square she was supposed to end on, she tasted something familiar. Smoke.
Music was playing, screams filled her ears as she looked around. How was this possible? She couldn't see ahead or even down to her feet with how thick the fog was. Pulling her sleeve over her mouth to try and keep the smoke out, she tried to wade through it to see if this square really was so large that there was something going on here.
Feeling as if people were running past her, she couldn't see any silhouettes or even really feel like something solid was passing her. It was so odd that it took her a moment to remember the dice in her hand to roll it. Now wasn't really the time to question things, she needed to get out of the smoke.
