Name: Finvara Lonán (Tuath custom strips oathbreakers of their clan names, so for his surname, he chose ato go by a nickname his mother gave him meaning "little blackbird" )

Nickname: Fin (No one calls him by his full name except in very formal settings, and given that everyone in those settings is long dead there is no reason for anyone to do so as far as he's concerned.

Gender/Pronoun: He/Him/His

Age: 1024. He appears to be in his early to mid twenties and has the emotional maturity to match.

Birthday: He has no idea, he'll probably grudgingly choose the date of his arrival.

Sign: Eh?

Gemstone: Whatever catches his attention at the moment

Blood Type: Red. (O-)

Fav. Food: Sticky honey cakes, he also likes fish if it's very fresh. He will love sushi once he tries it.

Hated Food: Squash and squash-like things. Why does Earth have these? Why do you people eat them?

School/Occupation: No thank you. (He'll get a job once he realizes that things cost money and people are much less likely to fall for the demigod act here)

Hobbies:

Dance -- Fin has always loved to dance, alone, with a partner, or in groups. He doesn't care, as long as he's moving to the music. He prides himself on having a particular agility and grace and enjoys showing off his skill on the dance floor. Though he hasn’t had many opportunities to dance with others lately due to the inconvenient deaths of everyone else on his planet, he looks forward to finding new dance partners.

Painting -- Unlike many of his other interests, Fin’s painting is a deeply introspective activity and one he prefers to perform in solitude. His paintings tend toward the surreal and the bizarre. He hasn’t had as many opportunities to use actual paints lately, but he did what he could with natural pigments. While his great love is the creation of murals, his ability to exercise this love has been extremely limited for the past several centuries and he has spent a lot of time painting on bone. Experimenting with Earth’s media will be a source of entertainment for him.

Brewing -- Fin developed brewing skills after the coup forced him out of the palace and into hiding. He brewed mead from wild honey and while he found the lack of variety frustrating, he considered it better than nothing. When he rejoined some semblance of society he was able to develop a more diverse range of alcohols. He will pursue this interest further after arriving on Earth and will definitely enjoy having others to share it with.

Archery -- As the eldest prince of Bacchus, one of Fin's duties was to lead the Wild Hunt. While this was a ceremonial role by the time he assumed the position, it did require him to develop skill with the bow. He will find it aggravating that he's not allowed to shoot the youma he encounters on Earth, but he will enjoy target shooting. He no longer has the stamina for long shooting sessions that he once did due to chronic pain in his left arm and hand, but he still enjoys what time he can manage.

Virtues:

Loyal -- Whatever his tendency toward flightiness, Fin has always been a deeply loyal person. He's all but lost his ability to voice this loyalty and struggles to form new relationships that inspire loyalty in him, but when he loves someone he loves them fiercely and with an uncharacteristic dedication. Even if he gripes and grumbles about having to be responsible, he will show up for friends (and hopefully someday, found family).

Outgoing – Fin is very friendly and enthusiastic and happiest when he’s surrounded by people. Especially when those people are as excited about having a good time as he is. He is the sort of person who will happily strike up a conversation with a stranger and wants to make sure that other people are engaged with whatever happens to be going on in a given situation. He is also the sort of person who is uncomfortable with silence and becomes upset if he’s alone for any extended period of time.

Creative -- Fin has always had a creative spark that he feels the need to exercise regularly, as reflected by his hobbies. He enjoys finding different ways to put his mark on things wherever he goes and is constantly looking for new sources of inspiration. He spends a lot of time doodling, scribbling notes for new flavor ideas, and daydreaming. He tends to approach problems from perspectives other people might find unusual, though they might be messier than average attempts.

Adventurous -- Fin has a boundless sense of curiosity and with centuries to spare, he has had plenty of time to indulge this. He has very few problems taking risks and is willing to try just about anything at least once. This has led to some mishaps over the ages, but at least some of the bad experiences make for funny stories.

Flaws:

Hedonistic -- Fin likes a good time, to an unhealthy degree. He often neglects more important tasks or responsibilities in favor of self-indulgence. Pleasure is far more important to him than any sort of higher calling or ambition and he tends to build his life around the pursuit of the next source of amusement. Because of his pursuit of immediate gratification, he finds it difficult to remain focused on anything resembling a long-term goal.

Vindictive -- Fin will hold a grudge for eternity and a day if he feels wronged or slighted and may seek revenge if the hurt is severe enough. While he doesn’t tend toward physical violence in the vast majority of cases, he is not above attempting to balance the books, so to speak. He likes what he considers poetic justice, in that he enjoys making his vengeful behavior reflect or echo what someone did to him. It is very rare for him to believe that this behavior is unwarranted, though if he does reach this conclusion he will feel genuinely bad about it and may try to make up for his actions. (Though his success generally depends on how scorched earth he went). Despite his vindictive tendencies, the strength of Tuath tradition will almost always prevent him from violating hospitality.

Volatile – Fin is subject to extreme highs and lows in terms of his moods in addition to having very poor impulse control. His emotional state can be unpredictable from one day to the next, veering between bouts of explosive anger and a relative calm. This makes it difficult for him to get emotionally close to other people, as meaningful relationships require vulnerability and the way he sees it, it’s only a matter of time before he either scares them off or they die and he is not going to deal with that mess.

Self-Destructive – Fin despises himself, though he is in complete denial of this fact and would never say it out loud. He considers himself to be a monumental failure on every level and has engaged in increasing recklessness over the centuries due to a disinterest in self-preservation. This behavior is destructive to both himself and those around him. He drinks to excess and can be sexually promiscuous to a reckless degree. His engagement in these activities is frequently the result of a desire to distract or numb himself and reining himself in can be very difficult.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Eyes: Large, expressive violet eyes that frequently say things he'd rather keep to himself.

Hair: Long, wavy black hair that falls to his mid-back. There is never a time at which it isn't at least a little bit messy. He has a badly scarred bald patch at the left side of the base of his skull. His hair usually covers it, but it might be visible from time to time. He is unwilling to talk about this.

Face: He has a narrow, androgynous, and somewhat pointy face with a straight nose and average sized ears. This guy is pretty close to how I picture him. He usually wears multiple earrings in each ear and eyeliner. If he's outside of the house without either of these things there is probably something wrong.

Skin Tone: Fair, burns easily

Body Type: He is lithe and very tall. His left arm is just barely shorter than the right and has a visible knot a few inches above the elbow. If asked, he'll get angry and mention a broken arm before refusing to discuss it further.

Clothes: He always wears a gold ring with a band resembling interwoven roots and set with a large, kite-cut amethyst on his right ring finger. He is unwilling to remove it or discuss its significance. He also wears a simple round amethyst pendant. He just thinks this one is pretty. He'll probably prefer black button-up shirts (with a few buttons undone because it's bloody hot here) and jeans once he accepts that he has to wear Earth style clothes. When given the chance he will frequently have his nails painted black.

Sailor Bacchus throws his arms out in a welcoming gesture, and a shining mist spreads forth from between his arms as up-tempo music begins to play. Enemies engulfed in the mist finds themselves compelled to join in the revelry, overwhelmed with a sense of powerful, disorienting giddiness that pushes aside other thoughts and makes it very difficult to engage in combat. Through force of will, they may be able to shake the feeling and resume combat.

Deep Space Senshi:

Physical Features: Fin has pale grey skin and long, pointed ears. He has two clusters of black, spiraling and slender branching antlers growing from his head. The left set has a smooth, almost glassy surface. The right set has a texture similar to this on the lower half. He is unwilling to answer questions about this. If they break, they will regrow after time but he will gripe incessantly until they do. His antlers are for peacocking not combat, and as such being rough with them is painful. They will be smaller than they appear in the avatar reference in order to fit with art rules but I would like them at the maximum acceptable size for maximum cryptid-ness. His eyes have purple irises and black sclera. His irises glow faintly, but the glow is only noticeable in the dark. His skin has faint markings resembling abstract swirls in a shade of grey slightly paler than the rest of his skin. He has diagonal ridges along his obliques, lats, and the sides of his neck which bear a superficial resemblance to mushroom gills. He has countless scars all over his body, though the centuries have rendered them barely visible. The ones that appear to have been deepest are on the upper part of his abdomen. Though the majority of the scars have long since faded, there are sections that resemble crude renderings of an elegant, flowing script. He is unwilling to answer questions about the origins of any of his scars and will ensure that his glamour conceals them.

Backstory/History:

Fin was the eldest prince of his civilization and scion of Clan Eladan. He grew up alongside his younger brother Nuada surrounded by the wealth and luxury that accompanied their status as the sons of the planet’s ruler: Tiarna Muirne. Despite his mother’s tenacious efforts to bring the boy in line, he found the privileges, attention, and general indulgence that accompanied his station were far more appealing than the duties required of him.

When the Chaos arrived and cut the planet off from the rest of the galaxy, it led to a civil war between Tiarna Muirne’s faction and a faction led by Nuada, who feared for the future of Bacchus under the rule of his irresponsible brother. Upon the Tiarna’s accidental death in a duel to first blood, Nuada assumed the throne while Fin fled into the shadows of the forests.

In the years following Nuada’s death, a bizarre, virulent fungal plague appeared seemingly overnight. Beginning with the most vulnerable organisms, all humanoids, animals, and plants who came in contact with the spores met with a grisly death, becoming a host for the fungus as they decomposed alive. Their bodies fed the fungus' growth as the mycelia burrowed into their living muscles, compelling their bodies to travel until they collapsed, at which point fruiting bodies sprouted, ready to release hallucinogenic spores and spread the infection further. In the beginning humanoid hosts tended to remain hidden and isolated, creating panic over rashes of missing people. This made their loved ones all the more eager to follow the voice of a missing friend or family member calling from the dark, drawing them close enough to expose them to the pathogen. Initially, the disease progressed slowly, taking weeks or even months for the fruiting bodies to emerge and allowing a significant amount of the population to become unknowing carriers before anyone could recognize the crisis. As the infection spread it became more virulent and worked more quickly, with hosts reaching the point of dispersing spores within hours of exposure.

To slow the spread people began burning infected organisms. Then houses. Then neighborhoods. Then cities. Eventually, Bacchanalian civilization collapsed under the weight of the plague. Having consumed the organisms within the cities relatively rapidly, the fungus in urban spaces eventually died out, leaving the forests that covered much of the planet its primary source of sustenance. Groups of survivors managed to create isolated settlements within unaffected swathes of forest and though they inevitably fell to the plague, some of the more remote communities managed to hold out for centuries.

During this period Fin remained hidden within the forests, seemingly immune to the plague and stealthily destroying infected organisms before retreating into the darkest parts of the woods. In doing so, he developed a reputation as a guardian spirit of the forests among a people who only remembered Clan Eladan as a distant legend. When the denizens of the settlements began to leave him offerings, he saw it as an opportunity to regain something akin to the treatment he enjoyed as a prince, emerging from the woods with claims of semi-divinity. As he continued to serve as a protector for these communities, they came to revere him and happily supplied the revelry he craved.

He lived as their not-quite-god for years, fighting the worsening Chaos that closed in on them until the last settlement fell, leaving Fin the sole survivor in a haze of hallucinogenic spores.
