Magion…well. Confused might be a little too tame to describe what she was feeling. She was alone. She had been with Bifrost…and they had been looking at the funny face in the moon and talking about wisps…and then she had seen this…”

She held the wooden die in her hand and turned it over, frowning, wondering just…well. Just what had happened. HOw did she get here? Where was here?

At least when she had hit the button on her phone…she had gone home but…this was no island on Magion…at least not one she had ever seen before so…

“Hello? Bifrost?”

She called out, but there was nothing. No sound in return. Maybe…maybe if she dropped the thing…she would go back!

And that…was what she did. And the cute, shiny little thing once again made that satisfying clicking as it rolled. And as it did…spaces in front of her began to light up.

…Interesting.

Space 6:
You hear a shrill, humming noise; it sounds almost like something is firing past you–and sometimes, you even feel a sharp burst of air, like something has just missed you. Maybe, even, it does get a slice out of you. Sharp, bladelike threads seem to string up around you; you’d best be careful not to get cut on any of them between now and your next dice roll.

Magion made her way across the lit up spaces, and decided to take the cube with her…if…throwing it down had done this…maybe she just…had to keep on throwing it…right?

It made some sense…if sense was not making any sense…she. She could handle it.

When she made it to the place that the lit up road had lead, she looked around and jumped as there was a strange noise, and then a strange feeling like…someone was…throwing things at her?

And finally her eyes seemed to adjust and there was…

Oh. There was something there…and…

It looked…dangerous. Sharp. Painful. Swallowing, Magion tossed the small cube again, hoping to leave this strange place…and hoping that she would be out of here soon…or that the next place wouldn’t be trying to slice her up.

Space 8:
Something slithers across your foot, so fast that you might have thought you imagined it. Except, a few seconds later, it happens again. And then, again. Snakes keep moving across your space. If you move, they see you–and they might bite. Some of them hiss, some are capable of spraying a poisonous liquid that can cause itchiness or burning.

Thankfully, Magion had boots. She didn’t feel the…snakes slithering…but that didn’t mean that she didn’t hear them…but…if she would have not had her boots…this…this would have been bad.

Snakes…eels…serpents…

Magion didn’t like them. Honestly she had never liked them. And this…

Oh there were so many of them!

Holding in a scream, Magion once again tossed the cube of wood, hoping that there would be no snakes…and nothing sharp up ahead.

…She really wanted Mary.

Space 14:
The ground is sticky. You land on this and immediately dip, as though you’ve stepped on a trampoline. Close inspection reveals that you are standing on an intricately woven web–and your shoes are stuck. And something is skittering just on the horizon.

Magion stumbled and swung her arms trying to keep her balance this…wasn’t normal ground…

She lost her balance and fell, jutting her arms out to save herself. When she felt that the…ground? The…whatever she was on was sticky, her face fell and she shuddered, pulling her hand up and trying to stand again, wanting to wipe the sticky off on her shirt.

There was…there was a noise that made her freeze and after a moment she swiftly let the die go again, watching as it rolled, having some difficulty on the sticky web.

Space 16:
As you step into your square, something cracks. At first, you can’t tell what it is, but as your full weight moves onto the square, the ground shifts beneath you. It’s cold, and it’s ice, and a hole falls underneath you, plunging you into frigid waters. There’s enough floating ice that you should still be able to roll the dice to get out of here, but you have to go quickly–you’re soaked, in chilly water, and something just swam by your feet.

Magion didn’t want to hope too hard that she was going to end up somewhere safe…and when the ground gave a sickening crack, followed by a crunch followed by the feeling of falling, and then an intense cold.

She finally just burst into tears, scrambling to get out, scrambling to–

Her legs kicked when they felt whatever it was that had brushed against them, and with a strangled sob, she flung the die onto the ice, watching as it rolled and hoping it wasn’t going to fall in the water too…

If it did, then where would she be?

Space 19:
You’re so close! Almost at the end! But the space you’re standing on shifts and shakes and seems to crumble beneath you. You have to hold on; there’s nowhere to fall but down into the deep abyss. If you manage to hang on for long enough, you find some invisible purchase and can pull yourself back up, but it’s quite the ordeal. Make sure you don’t get cut on falling spaces! The ground restores itself once you roll again.

There was no water. Thankfully, the icy cold water was gone, and Magion took a second to have a breath, but then again, there was some horrible cracking sound, and once again, she was falling. This was how she was going to die. All because of a creepy moon and a pretty cube. She wouldn’t be able to see Bifrost again, wouldn’t be able to hug Mary. Wouldn’t be able to save Magion itself…and find everyone who was still up there, waiting for her to save them…

Giving a sob, she managed to put her foot on something and pulled herself up enough where she could throw the cube once again.

Hopefully, this nightmare would be over soon.
