Quote: The Gargoyles (3) : Even when you thought you’d seen the last of them, it seems like you’re never really in the clear. A while back, there was an infestation of awful gargoyle creatures–and while every Star Festival had its fair share of oddities, this one seems to have introduced a permanent infestation upon the city. Maybe you see them perched on the roof, or hiding in the shadows, but not all of these grotesque creatures are satisfied with just escaping their interdimensional prison–some of them still have a bone to pick. They seem stony; some of them will watch with a penetrative gaze and never strike to attack, but some of them will dive down to target anyone who gets too close. The monsters come in an array of sizes and shapes, but they are no more than half the size of their target. Their goal is uncertain, but they will crumble into a pile of rocks and dust if struck hard enough. This RP can be used as a battle requirement as long as there are at least two powered characters involved; you must be interacting with another player’s powered character and cannot solo this with two of your own characters. This does not count as the ‘one youma battle’ per stage for growth. This can only be used as a battle requirement once per character, but there is no limitation for how many times a player can use this prompt. Something was weird in this city, that’s what it was called right? A city and people owned something called property? He’d been looking at the thing Ian called a computer a bit at a time, looking over their shoulder as they showed him videos and things about how places were on this planet. One of the things he saw was a really big sort of stone structure and apparently, people gathered there to do stuff. It looked like some place that had lots of things to look at and there probably weren’t people there at night. This time, after the past few times he’d gone out too far and gotten into trouble, he nudged Ian awake carefully and showed him the photo he’d saved on his phone of the place. “Can we go look?” It would be better if he didn’t go alone and they could power up just in case so people wouldn’t recognize them and where they’d come from. He didn’t want any trouble to follow him home because that might make Ian want to move sooner and he still really was getting used to this home first.

Groaning softly, stretching, a hand came out from under his pillow and rubbed at tired eyes. “Hmm?” A green eye opened slowly, followed by the other, and finally they focused on the picture he was being shown. “You want to see gargoyles?” He questioned, voice heavy and deep with sleep, Ian pushed himself up slowly. “Tonight…like right now?” Wanting to confirm what he assumed the other meant, as they looked rather eager and ready to get moving right now.
“They did install some recently at some of the bigger, older, cathedrals in the city….” And he was certain Sasha had stumbled upon this online, including other pictures and information on gargoyles. “Alright…we can go look.” Because he’d sleep in, and this trip shouldn’t take that long, at least Sasha would be out with him and not on his own - it would be safer.
“Ok, let me get up and we’ll power up as soon as we’re away from the property.” In order to keep everyone here safe, even though he also was just in bed cloths and had no intentions of changing into normal clothing just so he could go out and power up. He’d wander out in his bed cloths and some slippers.

So that’s how it was said, he’d been trying to figure it out. “Mhm while no humans around.” Watching as they woke up and slowly talked through things, Sasha’s smile started to widen as it seemed like he would be getting his wish about going on an adventure tonight.
Sliding back and off the bed, he didn’t think to really bother with pants. The hoodie he had from them was long enough it went down almost to his knees and then he had boxers on so it would be fine to just wear that before powering up. Nobody would see them and honestly if they did, he knew that they were slowly getting used to him apparently weird habits. He didn’t see anything weird about eating plants and wandering at night chasing fireflies.
Getting a few steps ahead of Ian, Sasha wandered downstairs and hopped up on the counter to have a quick snack while he waited.

Ian was slow in crawling out of bed, even tripping over his own feet at one point, but he did make it down the stairs with his slippers on and his hair brushed. Yawning as he shuffled into the kitchen, eyeing the other as they were nibbling on things. He’d already told Sasha that the fireflies, and other insects, would be hard to find soon, as the weather was changing - fall brought with it cold and insects went to hiding. He didn’t want the other to become upset when he didn’t see the fireflies, and other bugs, all around like he was used to. But fall and winter brought other things, as the changing seasons always did.
“Alright, let me grab a drink and we’ll head out.” Because he’d been sleeping and hadn’t had anything to drink since going to bed, and he needed something. Going over to open the fridge he pulled out a mini bottle of orange juice to offer the other, grabbing a mini apple juice for himself. He was stocked up on fruits and fruit juices, especially mini bottles, for the other but he drank them too. He’d gotten used to all the fruits in the house and in his diet now.
“You think you’ll be good if these things attack us?”

Making grabby hands for the juice, he hopped down off the counter. “Mmm oki.” They still looked tired but he was mostly wide awake. The cold made him sleepy, it never really got cold on his planet, but he wondered if it might not be a bad idea to nap when it got colder. Ian said it would do something called snow? Which was like powdered frozen water, but not like the ice that was in the machine the drinks came from? A refrigerator? He found his mind wandering down that vein of thought as he stood there sipping from the bottle.
If it got cold did that mean the plants would die too right? It would make it harder to find things to eat, wouldn’t it? He started to find himself wondering and worrying, his antennae twitching with concern until they mentioned something about being attacked and he jumped slightly as he was brought back to the current topic.
“Ah, attack?” That didn’t sound good, they looked like stone but they were alive? That didn’t make much sense unless they were like those stick bugs that only pretended to be sticks. Maybe they were creatures that pretended to be statues as a defense thing? Nodding, he figured he could try and heal them both if something came up but he wasn’t sure if he could fight the things. It wasn’t something he figured Ian wanted to do either.

“Yeah, gargoyles have come to life in the city before and attacked people, I never had it happen to me, I saw it on the news in the past and heard some people talking about it in cafes when I went to get food.” The small dive places he’d go to for food, because he liked small places off the beaten path with good food. It meant he didn’t have to deal with lots of people around him, and he could hear conversations going on at other tables, it was how he found out about those sorts of things.
“But let’s hope for the best tonight while we’re out. Maybe we’ll get lucky and you’ll see just normal gargoyles and nothing will happen.” The other would get to enjoy seeing normal gargoyles, something he didn’t see anything special in, and enjoy the sight of them. They couldn’t teleport like the negaverse could…but they could still move from rooftop to rooftop so maybe they could get up close to some of them as well.
“Come on, let's head out.” That said as he headed from the kitchen and grabbed his house keys by the door.

That didn’t sound good, but at least it hadn’t happened to Ian so hopefully it wouldn’t happen this time. “Gargoyles and plants.” Nodding with a smile on his face as he was hoping to find some more clippings to bring home and plant in one of the little indoor garden-boxes Ian had gotten for the windowsill in the kitchen.
Walking across the property, he waiting until both he and Ian were far enough away that powering up wouldn’t cause trouble. He’d made a mark in one of the trees as a reminder but by now he had an idea just of how many steps was good enough to be safe. Pulling his henshin out and powering up, he turned and looked back at Ian. “Not as cold like this.” Maybe because of all the layers he had and the new socks that had come with the upgrade Julienne had helped with.
“Not far right?” Since they could pick up the pace a bit now that they were powered up and he was very motivated to go exploring in the chilly night air.

The other would, in time, get used to the changes in this city as the seasons changed. Not just in the magical issues but in general. The different seasons brought varied things, things Ian suspected the other wasn’t used to, it was because of this he also didn't’ think Sasha would like winter very much. There would be a lot less plants and insects as well as other things, and in it’s place snow and potentially nibbling white rabbits that might give a hell of a chill to a person.
“Remind me, I should bring you to the grocery store with me soon. Maybe on the next trip.” Because while the other liked to forage for plants that would soon be an issue as winter, and snow, came. It was best to get the other to the grocery store and start showing Sasha around. He’d give him money, help him handle things, so he could buy veggies and fruits for himself. Following behind the other he waited till they were a safe distance from the house, till the other was powering up, to pull out his own henshin pen and power up.
This was becoming a more regular thing; he wasn’t sure how he felt about it. Going to his homeworld was also becoming a regular thing, because the other wanted to go there, so Ian was adjusting things and visiting more often. The place was, in his opinion, still boring and he disliked traveling…the paddling by boat alone was tedious and a work out the eternal didn’t enjoy nor want. But he knew it was also unavoidable.
“Alright, we shouldn’t have too much trouble.. We can at least get around easier.” And quicker. Knowing where they could find some of these gargoyles, hopefully not ones which would attack, Chaldene took the lead, reaching out to grasp one of the others hands and pull him along. “Come on, let’s go see some stone art work.” Maybe a museum trip to see other art work would be an ideas well?

A grocery store, he remembered them telling him about it and showed him the bags that the fruits and foods came in. It was apparently mostly open when the sun was up which wasn’t something he liked as much but if they were trying to keep awake for him maybe he could try staying awake during their time sometimes too. “Okay, if when dark?” Maybe not fully night but after it wasn’t as bright out, that he could maybe handle more at first instead of the other way.
Sasha was getting more used to Ian as they were and not Amel. He still saw things that reminded him of the past but there were enough new things he was getting a bit more comfortable with them. Earth had a lot of new and weird things but the other always tried to help and he liked that about them. They also had all sorts of interesting things to show him which made it easier for him to not feel as lonely even when they did sleep.
Books were something he was slowly working through, he didn’t read as fast as the other but mostly it was because he had to keep stoping to ask what some words meant. Like with the gargoyles, it wasn’t something he’d know about until they explained more of it.
Letting Chaldene pull him along, Erinome nodded and kept up the pace as best as he could. “Yes! Let’s look!” Smiling and brightening as he spoke, he was glad to see them interested in these things too. It might be magic which was something they didn’t seem to like as much but he was glad they tried just as he was trying to figure out earth and normal things like money and not stealing. He was still a bit miffed about it but he knew he had to listen so he didn’t cause trouble for the other.

“Ok, we can go to the grocery store in the evening, after dinner time.” He didn’t want to go too late but he was willing to work with Sasha on things, to make it easier for the other. “It’ll allow you to pick some other fruits and veggies that you’d like to try - things I’ve not picked up yet.” Or the other could pick up things he really liked, get more of them than Ian might otherwise purchase.
The walk wasn’t that long, it could have been worse, but at some point he did draw the other up to roof top level with him. He hadn’t done this in a while, rooftop jumping, but he knew it would help and put them closer to the gargoyles the other wanted to see. He just wasn’t sure it was entirely safe if the things decided to attack them - which he did hope didn’t happen.
“When we get close to them, and can see them, be mindful that they may attack.” He spoke softly, wanting the other to keep safe…and not run right up to investigate the things.
When they did finally get close, he really hadn’t done this roof top travel in a very long time, Chaldene was pointing them out on the rooftop across from them. “Those are gargoyles. People said they would keep away negative spirits…they were protectors. But they also handle rain water and act as a gutter of sorts. They are nice though, some are far larger and more ornate. The ones in Europe I think are not just older and hand crafted but also more detailed.” Europe was, in his opinion, known for them…especially certain cities and countries.

“Yes!” Nodding in agreement to the compromise of going to the store when it was dark, he figured that would work and he could see what other things Earth had to offer to eat that were things humans ate. He knew that humans didn’t eat all the same plants he did, especially from the way he got certain looks from Ian and others when he was snacking sometimes.
Keeping close to Chaldene, Erinome couldn’t help but look around from up high. It was pretty out and he could see patches of green space in the distance. He hadn’t thought about getting up on top of these buildings really until now so maybe it might be a safer way to see things and figure out where he was in the future.
“Europe? Like Xander said?” Something about how they could be from Europe and that was where Ian had met him. Smiling a big he nudged them then looked closer at the things, reaching out slowly and carefully to touch the stong wing of one of them.
It didn’t look like it was anything more than stone so he was sure it would be fine but Chaldene was right by just in case.

“Yeah, they spent a few years in Europe - England. I didn’t go…I remained in their home, living.” It had been..odd and awkward to say the least. He felt like a third, or even fourth, wheel that just hung around and had no life. Lazy even. But really he hadn’t known what to do and hadn’t really had it in him to try and start on his own, not knowing or wanting to just leave even if he wasn’t the most social of people. He didn’t like the idea of being all alone either. He supposed he’d just gotten used to things. But he did eventually need to try and do things on his own - to live on his own. Now though it would include the other at his side; and that was fine.
“Xander’s family has a home in Europe. We met here though, at a hospital where my mother worked with Xander.” She still worked at the hospital, as a senior nurse, his mother was tough but caring. She wasn’t a nurse yo unwanted to get mad…but she also cared for those who needed that care, especially children. He knew his mother and she loved her job.
Keeping right behind the other, in case something happened, he saw the moment the gargoyle moved as they touched it .Watched as its stone mouth, with a grinding sound, opened and it moved to snap at the others hand. “Get back!” Shouting as he made to pull the other away from the thing.

Making a slight noise in agreement, he got to feel the gritty and worn stone of the thing for just a moment before it seemed to move. His eyes widened as Chaldene pulled him back and he lost his balance. "Ah!" Watching as the gargoyle started to shift and turn, the loud sound of stone moving against stone was hard to ignore. It hadn't felt alive when he touched it but there it was now looking at him and Chaldene with the intent to move closer.
Maybe he'd disturbed it while sleeping, that could be why it was mad. "Sorry to wake." Trying to apologize as he half regained his balance to avoid slipping from the rooftop and pulling Chaldene down with him. His shoes weren't quite the best for this but he sat up a bit and held a hand out to try and calm the thing as his antennae twitched slightly with a bit of fear and curiosity.

"Wake? Don't be sorry. Those things aren't supposed to be alive. They are made of stone...solid." He stated while keeping the other close to himself, pulling them both to the ground as it seemed another gargoyle had decided to get involved in things. Perhaps this slightly smaller gargoyle had gotten upset with them, upset that they'd disturbed a companion of it's, but the reason didn't matter really. The damn thing was intent upon attacking them and Chaldene was not about to allow that.
"Stay down, I'm going to try and use my magic and see if it works." If he got hit he might just need the other to help him, they had healing magic right? He was fairly certain that's what Sasha had told him.
"Damn time of year and this city. I hate this place sometimes." But cities came with lots of good places to eat! And he was all about that really, plus all the job oppertunities.

Oh... that was odd, he'd never seen a moving stone before. "Oh.. ok.." Ducking down a bit and trying to keep behind the other, he kept an eye out as they moved forward to try and do something about the stone statues.
"Too cold..." Chiming in about this time of year, assuming they also meant the weather changes. It was something he read about but reading and understanding were two different things.
Maybe if they hated this place, that was why they lived farther out, where it was quieter and hopefully things wouldn't wander out that far to attack. It seemed like he'd been getting the other into more trouble because he couldn't really fight well. It wasn't for lack of trying but... he wasn't really that strong to begin with and he knew he could really only help take care of injuries. That had become quite apparent when he'd helped the one senshi clear chaos from their planet.
