Quote: Web of Secrets (7) : Spiders have settled in all across town, and while this isn’t normally any great cause for concern, inky black spiders are oddly common. The spiders themselves are not very threatening–small, nonpoisonous, and cowardly. The interesting thing about them is their black webbing–and the strange designs they make. Webs appear overnight, often seeming to come out of nowhere. They are curiously designed, almost as if made to deliberately spell out something. People all over town have mentioned finding webs that spell out a single word, or part of a sentence. Maybe it’s just imagination, but as the days go on, the words seem to be clearer–and the messages are often uncomfortable or distressing. There’s no evidence that the spiders can spell or are trying to send messages, but really–is it that hard to believe? Once a spider has left a message, it disappears. They are masterful escape artists and cannot be caught. There’s no telling what the spiders want you to know, but maybe if you’re lucky one will leave you a message you understand. Spiders no matter how small were an issue for Alexandere, and they alwaywould be, he knew Lorcan had suggested therapy but he hadn't booked an appointment with anyone to deal with the issue. He knew it was an issue, and a danger even, but it really hadn't caused him too many issues, at least not really. He knew spiders would come with the turning of the seasons, as summer yeilded to fall, because it happened every year. Sometimes they even came in the winter, he really didn't understand this all, but he accepted it despite the phobia he suffered from.
He'd heard it on the news, heard people talking about it, and he'd been avoiding it as well as he could. These spiders were different, they weren't webbing up the whole damn city or causing problems, these spiders were apparently smart. The webs were black, which was not natural in the slightest, and the webs spelled out things- like Charlotte's web. He was impressed but he also did not want any such webs to appear in his home, even if he was moving out very soon. He had a truck set to arrive and take the remaining things in a few days time, when Rene would be at work, he just needed to survive and than he was certain the thigns would not get him in his home. He'd be outside of the city and hopefully outside the sphere of influence this holiday magic had on the city.
Until then he was looking around for any sign of the eight leggend things, not knowing that one reason he hadn't seen any spiders in so long as due to Rene killing any he saw. Shuffling his way from the art room he had, he'd been busy painting, the blond headed himself downstairs because Rene was due any minute now. Not to mention the wash he'd been doing was nearly done, and he had to get his hands cleaned before he went to touching his clean wash.
The first stop was thus the kitchen to clean and wash his hands, scrubbing the paint from his nailbeds and under his nails, he hurried for the wash room to check on the load which was due to finish.

It wasn't as if Alexandre hadn't warned him, that he hadn't seen enough crazy magic happening so far this fall, but as he noticed thin threads of silk appearing more and more in the corners of some doorways, he knew he couldn't manage every arachnid that was out and about. So as he got out of his car to walk up to Alexandre's home, he took a moment to look up and see delicately spun silk threads draping across the arch above their front door. It wasn't a small web, not in the slightest, and for a moment which he thought was a trick of the eyes, he could have sworn it almost looked like there were letters mixed between the normal pattern of a spider's web.
Taking a photo first, he then reached up to try and wipe away the web so his little blonde didn't see it. Them fainting again from seeing such a thing wasn't really something that he enjoyed seeing. The first time he'd been so confused and worried he'd brought them to their cousin's house to figure out what had happened. Now he just worked a bit preemptively by keeping the spiders out of sight and out of mind for his partner.
Pushing the door open, he stepped inside and went about hanging his coat and bag up in the closet. If anything felt less worried about the weird magic when he was here since Alexandre was very good at dealing with it, something he was still getting used to on top of getting used to this country.
"Mon ange, I'm here!" Calling out as he walked towards the kitchen to get a glass of wine and maybe see if there were any pastries left by Hudson that he could eat.

There were nearly always some sort of pastries in the house, whether baked by Hudson or bought from a bakery, there was always something sweet to nibble on. Alexandre had most of his closet packed and at the new home along with his art room, he was keeping the door to that room closed, he was trying to keep thigns a secret from Rene till the last possible moment. Alexandre was aiming to surprise his partner, though he did worry about things from time to time, the blond had been doing his best to act normal and keep the moving of his things a secret.
Alexandre had been moving around the house, cleaning, as he reminded himself of what he'd still need to pack and get out of here, he had one more truck coming to get the remaining things to the new home, but he couldn't pack till morning when Rene left for work. He didn't want the other to see things tonight. But that didn't mean he couldn't clean and strighten things.
From the laundry room, where he was washing things, he peeked out and smiled. "In here love, I'm doing some wash." The laundry room was under the stairs, it wasn't the biggest of rooms, but it served it's purpose and let him get things done.

Seeking out a chocolate chip cookie, Rene had the thing half in his mouth when he heard the other. Munching on it as he poured his wine, he spotted something catching the light up in the corner of the ceiling. Another web, not a cobweb though. He hadn't seen it the night before so that was a bit odd that it had appeared so quickly and yet he saw no spider around it.
Looking around, he tried to see if there were any other signs before he wandered towards the laundry room, wine and snack in hand. The sound of the washer and dryer running were normally muffled by the stairs themselves and the door but with Alexandre having it open, he could hear it as he approached.
"Washing sweaters and getting the warmer coats out for fall?" Peering over them to see the folded pile on top of the dryer, he saw a few of the sweaters they preferred to wear, including the one he'd replaced after he'd torn it on their first night at his shop.

"Of course, I might wash them before I put them all away for the warmer months but I won't wear them before I clean them as well." And it was getting cooler out so he was washing his sweaters, coats, and other warm clothing so he'd have it all to wear. If some of it was being put into boxes than Rene didn't need to know that. He also didn't need to know that a lot of the warmer weather clothing was already packed and sittin gin another home waiting for them to move in.
"How was work?" Leaning up to press his lips to the others cheek, seeing as the other was busy nibbling on a cookie.
"I hope no exes decided to rampage through your shop like the vengeful demon they are?" He questioned, smiling ever so sweetly. He did not like his partners ex, not one bit, he found her to lack manners and to be a bit of a gold digger. He had a poor opinion of her to say the least, and he wouldn't mind telling her as much, sadly he hadn't run into her again. He was't so sure she wouldn't be pushed over the edge and take a swing at him though, he was fairly certain he'd push all her buttons and have her swinging at him in very little time. But it might keep her away from Rene, turning her focus onto himself, so it wasn't that bad of an idea really.

It made sense even if he just replaced his clothing instead of storing things. They didn't really do things the same way but it was alright. At least if they cleaned them, if anything got into storage they'd be dealt with in the wash.
"It was alright, I had to do some extra cleaning up with the newest shipment but I remembered a dust mask this time." It had been quiet which was nice, he still was slightly on edge with Luciana having come to town but for now, it seemed like they were keeping their distance. Whether that was for better or for worse he wasn't really trying to think about it if he could.
"Only my vengeful onslaught against the dust bunnies today petit ange." He'd leave out the spider webs and cobwebs though. It had been od how fast they'd appeared but he kept shooing them away and cleaning in case Alexandre came to his shop.

"That's good, the dust really gets to you." Smiling gently as he spoke, he knew how bad the dust got for his partner. It wasn't like the dust didn't bring on sneezing fits for himself as well - it did. At least he didn't work with dusty things as often as Rene, nowhere near as much, but Rene at least now had a mask to assist in keeping the dust from bothering him so much.
"Was there a reason for more dust in this particular shipment?" Curious as he took note of the washer coming to a stop, another batch of winter weather done, and he was moving to open the washer and get the heavy sweaters out. He hadn't put many in, due to the weight of them when wet, and went to set them on the small rack he'd managed to squeeze into the small room. He couldn't hang these to dry and they weren't supposed to be put into the dryer. They would need to dry laying flat. The new home would have a much larger wash room so he'd have a stack, or two, of racks to lay clothing out to dry.
"Good, if she turns up again I want a text or a call. I will handle her." He wasn't going to let Rene's ex bother him more than she already had, and he'd be damned if he let her lay hands on him or do any harm to Rene. "Did you have plans for tonight?" He questioned gently, bending to lay a sweater on the lowest level of the rack.

"Mostly the weather, with all the fallen leaves and extra packing added into things, a lot more dust gets kicked up. I found a few leaves stuck in the crates I picked up, I wonder if there was a leaf tornado at the depot to be honest." That wouldn't surprise him even if it was more of a mundane sort of thing. Little whirlwinds in the city due to the alleyways bringing leaves and trash with them as they went.
Looking up as they bent down to put a sweater away, he noticed another web. This one wasn't devoid of its spider though and he saw the thing even if it almost completely blended into the dark corner it had made its home. Moving forward and resting a hand on Alexandre's shoulder, he pulled them up and had them facing him. Hiding his worry with a smile and a teasing squeeze of their a**, he made sure not to look back up towards the web just in case they figured out what he was trying to do.
"Of course, if she shows up you and Katya will both get a message. The daring duo coming to slay the dragon." Laughing slightly, he would get a kick out of that if it happened.

"Maybe, though the weather hasn't really been that bad." Shrugging a bit. Maybe it was something else, who knows in this city, anything was possible really. He knew better than most how easily a normal, peaceful, daay could suddenly become the total opposite and toss in car sized spiders as well. Leaves in crates was nothing.
Standing up, with Rene's help, he wasn't so surprised when they groped him but he did yhelp nontheless. "Mmm, Katya will just keep you company while I handle her." Because he was certain he could do just that, even without powering up, he was small in size but that only aided him in letting people think him weak and easy to handle. He was smaller than most females and that aided him even further.
Stepping into Rene's space he let himself lean against them. "Did you want to help me figure out dinner? We can make something." He hadn't had plans for dinner, not really, he figured he'd let Rene decide on something and go from there. "Todays been a laundry and art day. I've been bouncing between things." Even thoug hthe art room had been on lock down for the most part, as most of it was packed up and already moved. He had a single canvas in there, because he'd been working on it slowly and didn't want to move a work in progress, as well as what he needed to finish the painting - that was it. Everything else was elsewhere.
