Quote: The Gargoyles (3) : Even when you thought you’d seen the last of them, it seems like you’re never really in the clear. A while back, there was an infestation of awful gargoyle creatures–and while every Star Festival had its fair share of oddities, this one seems to have introduced a permanent infestation upon the city. Maybe you see them perched on the roof, or hiding in the shadows, but not all of these grotesque creatures are satisfied with just escaping their interdimensional prison–some of them still have a bone to pick. They seem stony; some of them will watch with a penetrative gaze and never strike to attack, but some of them will dive down to target anyone who gets too close. The monsters come in an array of sizes and shapes, but they are no more than half the size of their target. Their goal is uncertain, but they will crumble into a pile of rocks and dust if struck hard enough. This RP can be used as a battle requirement as long as there are at least two powered characters involved; you must be interacting with another player’s powered character and cannot solo this with two of your own characters. This does not count as the ‘one youma battle’ per stage for growth. This can only be used as a battle requirement once per character, but there is no limitation for how many times a player can use this prompt. A patrol, maybe not as scheduled as it might be for the Negaverse but she was going to do her best to help Hedwig figure things out, he had many questions, most of which were about morals and reasoning. She didn’t feel like that mattered, not when it boiled down to things, but then again as long as a job was done she didn’t quite care about the reasoning behind it most times. Sure she had her own thoughts and reasons for things but they were tied exclusively to Aloysius and Liam’s wellbeing. This mirror senshi was a pet project more than anything else, someone she wanted to see if she could get to straighten up and become a bit more useful even if it wasn’t for the Negaverse’s benefit. Walking next to the senshi, she looked up at the rooftops of buildings as they passed. Something was in the air and she didn’t quite like it. “Something seems off, be on the lookout. I don’t think it’s a senshi.” Speaking quietly as she bumped into their leg, she squinted and wondered if she saw movement on one of the buildings or it was just her depth perception failing her as it usually did.

This was all still rather new to him, though he was getting more and more experience, the senshi of adoration wasn’t sure he liked this all though. It was, to him anyway, a lot more commitment than he liked to give to things. Funny thing was…he’d forgotten about tonight's plans with Desiree and had been on his way out to a small cafe that had some live music playing, figuring on a good cup of espresso with some good music…and maybe some other entertainment, when she’d turned up and reminded him of things. Had it not been for her he’d have been sipping an espresso and planning to take someone to bed for the evening, someone he’d no doubt send home in the morning and never speak to again.
Instead, he was out here, wandering the city, with a wraith out gathering energy from whoever it happened to find. It seemed very few people were out tonight though, a pity, he wished more were out and about so he could get things done quickly and try and make the cafe still. He had hopes - really high hopes.
Instead, she was warning him though, her words pulling him out of his thoughts. “Something watching us…” Looking around, looking up and towards the alleyways. “I don’t see or sense anything…”

Puffing up as she looked up, trying to see what was moving, Desiree growled. “Something’s up there but it doesn’t feel like either side which means it’s not something to reason with.” As soon as she’d spoken, something darted past them both and had her puffing up and pressing into the mirror senshi’s leg. She knew she was at a disadvantage here so she’d have to hope they would do something at least.
“Hedwig! Look out!” Another came and this one she got to claw at as it passed but that didn’t seem to do much other than separate her from the other slightly. It left her a bit dazed and she shook her head and tried to look around.

“So it’s living but not intelligent…great.” Rolling his eyes, this didn’t sound good for him. Something that lacked the ability to reason with it could be a hard thing to deal with, it left few options. Shouting for the cat, as he’s dove for the ground to avoid the…gargoyle? What in the hell was a gargoyle doing flying at them? A stone ******** statue was alive, or at least able to fly and attack them, and this didn’t seem to have shocked the mauvian.
“Is this s**t normal?” He questioned, from his place on the ground, rolling to avoid being hit again. Climbing to his feet he eyed the gargoyle that was getting up off the pavement. “Eyes on me, you ugly damn thing.” It was not as nice as the ones back home, this was some poor quality gargoyle if you asked him. Letting out his magic as he spoke he hoped this might work and help him and Dessire. “I got this Dessire!” At least he hoped he did, he didn’t feel like being sent to the hospital due to a poor quality gargoyle hitting him in the head.

Growling as she swatted at another one and got pushed further away. “Not exactly normal but not uncommon? The holidays are less than pleasant here.” Jumping as they dove, she didn’t want to get hit by them or the gargoyle.
What she wasn’t expecting was to see the thing sit on the ground and look at Hedwig, its stone eyes locked on the man. “Well…. That’s unexpected.” Taking her time and moving slowly, she circled the other’s legs and settled down on their foot. “Looks like the ones close by seem to be stopping.” There were still some on the roof that weren’t effected she assumed but they seemed to understand that if the others had stopped attacking then maybe it was a good idea to leave things be.
“Are you alright?” Looking up at them, she laughed a bit. “Ugly damn thing, you have quite a way with words.”

“They are, I come from a country full of gargoyles and these things are nothing compared to the ones in France.” Shaking his head he looked down at the stone creature. “Like a dog really…but if I move I wonder if it’ll try and attack again…or does the magic follows me so it won’t be able to.” Because it would be a good time to beat a hasty retreat, he didn’t care to fight these things. “At least they all seem to get the idea - don’t attack.” It was helpful that they had enough sense about them to communicate, or it was some sort of hive mind, either way the result was the same.
“Do we try and leave and find out how my magic works?” He questioned, worried they might just get attacked again…but if they waited it out the things would attack again as well. Damned either way it seemed.

“I believe a tactical retreat is in order, just in case I believe there is a mirror a few blocks from here. Chalcanthite or Melpomene should have sent the information to you.” Either by mirror compact or regular text message from a burner phone just as she’d been drilling into both of their heads. At least she knew that Chal used the two burners she had set up for him.
Stretching out and pawing at Hedwig’s leg, she would rather he carry her just in case things got hectic. “Let’s go for now, your wraiths will follow us.”

“Yeah, I remember.” He did of course, because it was something he needed to remember, though he wished he didn’t need to know these sorts of things. He wished he wasn’t involved in this at all, this was a lot of responsibility that he didn’t want and it meant having to do things…obligation. Bending down he hefted the mauvian up and turned to take off running, hoping the gargoyles couldn’t follow…that his magic would follow around him and keep them from attacking.
“Someone seriously needs to take a sledge hammer to these things…all of them.”
