The Gargoyles (3) : Even when you thought you’d seen the last of them, it seems like you’re never really in the clear. A while back, there was an infestation of awful gargoyle creatures–and while every Star Festival had its fair share of oddities, this one seems to have introduced a permanent infestation upon the city. Maybe you see them perched on the roof, or hiding in the shadows, but not all of these grotesque creatures are satisfied with just escaping their interdimensional prison–some of them still have a bone to pick. They seem stony; some of them will watch with a penetrative gaze and never strike to attack, but some of them will dive down to target anyone who gets too close. The monsters come in an array of sizes and shapes, but they are no more than half the size of their target. Their goal is uncertain, but they will crumble into a pile of rocks and dust if struck hard enough.
This RP can be used as a battle requirement as long as there are at least two powered characters involved; you must be interacting with another player’s powered character and cannot solo this with two of your own characters. This does not count as the ‘one youma battle’ per stage for growth. This can only be used as a battle requirement once per character, but there is no limitation for how many times a player can use this prompt.
Calder was just completing her first patrol, when she could have sworn, she saw that gargoyle on the left side of the Cathedral across the street from her, wiggle his wing a little.
Calder, though being a new knight, was no stranger to Destiny City's strangeness during the Holidays - however, other powered beings within her family had warned her that it was worse .... much worse - when one was powered.
So, as she kept to the shadows, she also kept an eye on that gargoyle - it now twisted around to look her in the eye. Then it grinned in a way that could only be described as 'evil'. And suddenly took off after a human child on a tricycle - "Oh no you don't!" cried Calder, as she launched herself at the gargoyle.

Honestly, Mystras had never really seen the point of gargoyles. She knew some people, even maybe some of her own siblings, would appreciate the artistry or historical significance or whatever, but to her? Yeah, they were just ugly rocks. Only, today it looked like they were magical ugly rocks that were not only moving but chasing after kids. "Not cool, bro," she called out as she started dashing in, to punch at one of the gargoyles who had decided to chase after the other gargoyle and also the other knight who was at the scene. Mystras shot an apologetic glance at that other person. "Not you, sorry," she said. "You are very cool. Promise."

Calder smiled. "I figured." She finally managed to nearly catch up with the first one that was after the little girl who now give a cry, only now seeing the gargoyles behind and pedaled as fast as her little feet could. Calder jumped on the lead gargoyle that she had been after, and it quickly crumbled to dust. She quickly tumbled to the ground dumbfounded, thinking that it would a lot more difficult than that to stop, and apparently it was, as another jumped on her from behind.

"There's a lot of them," Mystras noted as yet another gargoyle jumped down to the ground in front to the side of her. It turned out that they were just made of normal rocks and didn't have the same strength as the youma and whatever magical people she usually fought. She was able to kick the head off of the one that had come up to her, and it stopped moving. She glanced up at the roof, trying to see how many more there might be. "Like, nine? Ten?" She wasn't always good at counting during the best of situations, and this was totally not the best of situations. She didn't seem to mind the fight, though. As she rushed up to smash the second gargoyle who was trying to bite her, she let out a merry laugh.

Calder wrestled the one off her back and slammed it into where it shattered into dust. As she tussled with two more, she did a quick count - "Uh yeah, I think you're right about the roof, and there seem to be about another eight down here." She called the other presumably knight (she was still learning about other Knights and Senshis and what they looked like as she was still really new). "Somehow these things (are they youmas?) don't seem like the youma I fought before (as far as that sixth sense thing I've learned about - but then I've only battled once before and I'm really new." She commented to the other powered being as she crushed those two that she fought with and then ducked as three leaped down from the roof. "So, are these youma or Halloween Disturbances?" She asked the other Knight - she was going with Knight.

"I dunno if they're youma or not," said Mystras, having to sidestep as another one decided to fling itself off the roof towards her, only to crumble into carved pieces of wings and beak as it slammed full force into the ground. "Ooof, tough luck, buddy," she murmured to its shattered pieces as she turned to fight another. There were a lot of them, but they weren't exactly overpowering. Or smart. She could already see all the rubble building up from the ones that they'd torn apart. Their numbers were going down. "They don't feel like the youma," she said, thinking about the weird feeling she got in the back of her head when something from the Negaverse was around. "And this probably doesn't quite count as dust?" It almost felt like she should have known this kind of stuff by now, since she'd been in the Negaverse for a while. Some of the others said it was probably a mercy that she'd lost her memories of that time instead of memories of anything important, but it was weird to have lost any memories at all. Oh well. She'd just have to figure out what a youma was all over again. She kicked the broken half of one of the gargoyles at another one that was swooping down, which caused it to crash down, too. She grinned at her work. "But it doesn't really matter. They're still monsters, right?" She turned to look over at the other Page, instead. "And we can still crush 'em, easy peasy."
