- ■ PERFECTIONIST The first thing you need to know about Corin is that he’s a perfectionist at heart. He’s extremely particular and in a lot of ways picky about how things are to be done. He’s very detail oriented and likes things to be well organized and laid out in a certain way. He can be a bit controlling at times, as he doesn’t like things being done differently from the way he’d do things.
■ ASSERTIVE Corin is very sure of himself and rightfully so given the way his parents raised him. He is the oldest and thus is the leader below his father. As such he pushes his decisions and remains true to them. Not much will let Corin waver from how he wants things done. Though his confidence can come off as being a bit of a know it all, if not a bit arrogant.
■ DETERMINED Letting things go isn’t Corin’s forte. He’s very determined and overall, quite stubborn when it comes to things he sets his mind on. Whether it be a stance on something or a plan he’s set in motion, Corin will not back down. While committed he can be way over the top.
■ HELPFUL Despite not being the best at being overly sympathetic, to the situation of others, Corin will still give a hand. If he can give an out of the box idea that can solve a problem, he will. Though, it might not always be solicited. At least you can say he’s helpful to some extent.
■ PROTECTIVE Lastly, Corin can be a protective person. Though, he’s not one to overly show it, he cares about the safety of his family and friends. He’s always alert to what is around him to ensure no trouble happens. As the older sibling it was something he felt he needed to do to look out for his younger sibling.

- CHILDHOOD Corin is the first-born child of Caleb and Tsubaki Devereux. He was surprisingly his father's pride and joy as was his sister Sakura who is three years younger. They made Caleb more caring in his adult years, though their mother wouldn't have had it any other way. Tsubaki was a strong woman that wouldn't take anything less. Corin looked up to his father in almost every way. When he wasn’t with him, he would spend much of the time helping his mother and sister. Corin took to Tsubaki’s cauldron like a fish out of water. It would seem Potions was going to run in the family, no surprise given both Tsubaki and Caleb had been rather proficient at it.
That wasn’t the only thing Corin shared with his mother, as he could also speak with snakes. It was a surprise to the family that he had the gift, but Tsubaki was proud of her son. It was also another excuse to bring a snake into the house. Caleb wasn’t a total fan, but he also knew not to stand in the way of his wife’s wishes. Shortly afterwards, Corin started showing even more magical talent, and it was then they prepared for Hogwarts. Sakura was amazed at her brother, and it didn’t take long for her to follow in his footsteps. Heading to school Corin was excited for the trip but also slightly let down that he couldn’t bring Zephyr his pet snake with him. His mother assured him that she would look after the serpent until he returned. That it would only be for a year. Corin could handle that.

First Year Corin was quick to try out for the Slytherin Quidditch team. He made it on the team along side his cousin Savino. The two challenged each other to do better in the sort which was probably a benefit.
