Tonight was a night out with Katya, mostly because he’d wanted to power up to handle some things in his shop but then decided to go out a bit and drain afterward before heading to Alexandre’s home. More often than not he was going back over there and only checking his place for mail, not really sleeping there often and only going inside occasionally for some additional clothing and to pack boxes up of his things for the inevitable move.
Tonight had been more of that and then he teleported a bit away to wander near one of the club areas. He’d enjoyed the Lumina club and that method of draining but tonight he knew he should do a bit of the old-fashioned way. It helped that he knew Alexandre was out tonight as well so if he ran into that man again then he could have them help. It would be rough but he knew they didn’t care if he called them to help, they would prefer that over him getting harmed and he was glad for that.
Draining a bit as he went through the crowds, keeping as low profile as he could while people focused on their drinks and phones. It wasn’t as fun as the club had been but work was work and he’d do enough of it to keep out of trouble for Alexandre.
“The club was nice Katya, really nice, you did a good job with it you know?” Smiling as he spoke and pulled over to the side alley, he did feel a few senshi nearby but as he’d been keeping as hidden as he could be he figured things might be safe with Katya for now.

“I didn’t do all that much, not when it was spread out amongst all of us mauvians.” There were a surprising number of mauvians who served the negaverse, perhaps some thought there were nearly none of them infact. But their numbers were there and, she hoped, growing. It would be nice if the Negaverse gained more of her kind…it would help them grow as an organization and achieve more. Perhaps it would even lead to an end of this war with a final victory in their favor.
Curled up about his neck the mavuian touched his cheek with a paw, pressing her nose to the soft skin. “You do like to flatter me far too much.” She spoke softly, a hint of teasing in her voice. While she knew Kafka preferred the club, she had heard him talk about it the morning afterwards, Katya was proud to see him out and about doing things the old fashioned way. Alexandre would be proud to, she knew it, because while the other way was easier…this was still the main way of doing things for now. It also led to confrontations with order…where they could, with any luck, widdle their numbers down.
Speaking of Alexandre…she knew he was out somewhere in the city as well, a simple call away, she didn’t think they’d need his help though. It was a rare thing, thankfully, that they got into such a position as to need his help. Kafka didn’t mind the help but also wasn’t the sort to appreciate what the general did…not when it came to his handling of order. She understood it though…Kafka was, in a way, a sweet summer child…at least when compared to his other half.
“I can sense a few senshi nearby…keep an sharp eye out if you want to avoid them. One is a super…”

“Still I think it’s good amazing that you can do things like that. Not that I’m tech illiterate but some things I’m a bit stuck in the past on for my shop.” It was easier to handle most things on paper for now as he slowly put things into his computer but it was something he’d need time to juggle things back and forth.
Smiling, he reached up and scratched her cheek fluff gently. “I wouldn’t say it’s too much, you really do a lot of good Katya, and not just for me and my petit ange.” To be honest he wouldn’t be out and about as much for things if it wasn’t for her even if he had wanted to help Alexandre. That little bit of safety made it just okay enough for him to keep doing things but that thought faded as he saw the trail end of a white bit of fabric turning the corner to look at one of the dozing people he’d left behind. They weren’t facing him but they were close and he tried to slide behind the dumpster, cursing as something inside it shifted and made a loud noise.
He froze, trying to think what to do next, always forgetting that he could just teleport since that was still new to him.

“I could always take a look at the things in your shop and update some things…” And then teach him how to use those things, she didn’t think it would be all that difficult. She wasn’t the most tech savvy of mauvians but she could do a good job on her own, better than plenty of humans. “I can even help catch you up by inputting everything into a new system.” A new system she could come up with and load everything before leaving it to him…so he wouldn’t have so much to load into the new system. Ohhh it would make work easier for Kafka and he could spend more free time on himself and her general.
“We’re going to be caught.” She hissed into his ear, a warning, they had seen the person they’d left behind. That they both knew but that sound…surely that sound would have them headed this way. “Be ready and try and surprise them. If we need help I can call him…but I can also help.” She hadn’t really laser blasted anyone but she was more than willing to - she would keep Kafka safe. He was her senshi and no senshi of orders would harm him with her around.
More and more often Hamal was trying to get out without her cousins or even her boyfriend. She knew she’d be safer with any one of them with her, three of those in her life were higher in rank than herself, but she really wanted to try and achieve her wings and she wanted to do it on her own. Thus far the nights patrol had gone well, as in Hamal hadn’t found anyone hurt and hadn’t run into chaos at all.
That wasn’t the remain the same though as soon she did find someone sitting on a bench…and they seemed to be asleep. But when she went to rouse them, to warn them to head home, there was no response - unconscious.
Looking around ,someone had to be around right? She didn’t sense anything…but how? Hearing a crashing sound she turned towards the alleyway and the dumpster where the sound likely came from. Someone might be there…or it could be an animal. But she wasn’t going to risk it and not go and find out. She wouldn’t assume it was just an animal. Picking up her pace while heading that way, ready just in case, she was hoping it was just an animal. She didn’t want a fight…but she also wouldn’t run from one.

Pressing as flat against the brick as he could and scooting down, he heard them drawing closer as Katya mentioned calling for help or her helping him. He didn’t think he wanted to risk things if the senshi had half a mind to kick a cat but he did take the first bit of advice.
Once he felt they were close enough he whispered as he cast his magic out while crouched and hidden. “Consume…” It was as quiet as he could say it as he motioned and hoped it would tire out that senshi enough for him to get away enough to focus and teleport. He still had no idea how Alexandre could do it in the middle of a fight, he couldn’t keep it together while trying not to get hit by magic that might give him horrible visions again.
They were close now, just on the other side of the same dumpster he was hidden beside so she had to be close enough, he tried to take shallow breaths as he reached a hand up to steady Katya for when he would bolt. He didn’t need more kitty claws in his bad shoulder, not that he blamed her for the damage but it still was sore and hadn’t healed all the way just yet.

She hadn’t seen the person, hadn’t heard anything either, but suddenly Hamal felt tired and worn out. Taking a breath felt like a struggle, like she’d just finished running a mile, and she was certain someone had just used magic on her. She didn’t see them but she knew they were here. “Come out!” There might have been a breathiness to her voice, showing she was in need of more air than she was pulling in, but she would fight them if she needed to.
Another breath, her chest burned with it, she couldn’t get in enough air. But she was still trying as she continued the way she had been going.
Good, Katya was sure this would go well for them now. Kafka’s magic was potent and it made her proud. He had a strong sphere that could weaken people. There was no way this senshi could fight them, no matter what they were saying, they sounded like they couldn’t walk even a few more feet. “Finish them…” She whispered into his ear. She didn’t care if he killed them or left them unconscious, though she had a preference she knew Kafka wouldn’t kill someone.

The senshi’s voice made it clear that they were having a hard time breathing which made him feel a bit more confident as he stood. With them closer he was able to drain just a bit, hopefully enough to make things less likely to blow up in his and Katya’s face.
“Merde mon cheri, you look like you’re having a hard time?” Trying to smile and tease a bit as he kept a hand behind him where the small swirling ball of energy was starting to form. He wanted to see if this worked and then if he had to he would knock her out and then get away. It helped that Katya was here since he felt like he had to do enough to keep her safe too.

Katya was not expecting Kafka to take charge of things like this, to get up in the senshi’s face and start grabbing energy as well. She took notice of it though, looking back as she shifted, she could see what he was gathering behind his back. She was proud of him, and she would tell him as much later.
Hamal stumbled back, dark eyes looking up at the taller senshi who had come out of hiding. French…that was French right? Trying to summon her own magic she broke out into a coughing fit, choking on air as she tried to call on the magic in order to defend herself. She felt tired already, from the initial attack, but she was getting more and more tired. What twas this magic doing to her? She could use back up…
“Finish it and leave her.” Katya called out to Kafka, watching as the little senshi struggled to call on her magic. It was after the coughing had subsided that they seemed to get themselves under control enough to pull out a slip of paper. “Teleport.” Before that hit, they were too close for whatever magic she was about to set off.

Feeling the orb in his hand he sent it away as Katya let him know what to do. Moving quickly, faster than he would as a civilian, he swung at the senshi’s face with his right arm before turning to bolt. He saw that paper and wanted no part of it, getting as much distance as he could for the moment so he could find somewhere he could calm his thoughts enough to focus and get home.
Katya being here did help, she knew more about things but also was able to direct him a bit and help get him from getting into too much trouble. At some point, he hoped he’d get a bit better at things even if he wasn’t one to really fight he wanted to be able to get out of things without getting hurt and worrying Alexandre.
“Soon, I need a moment, it’s hard for me to focus on places when I don’t know the city all that well.” He was getting better, paying attention as Alexandre drove him around town and to various shops throughout the city.

Knocked to the ground Hamal lay sprawled on the ground, her face pulsing with the beat of her heart, while she sat herself up her dark eyes landed on the talisman that lay on the ground. Watching as it vanished, a new slip of paper arriving in her hand, she held it up then. “Sparks.” Words were still difficult but she needed to do this, even as they were running away from her. Her talisman changed, shifted into energy and bits of paper, the orb heading towards the figure that was retreating - only to fall short. It missed and exploded in the air in a shower of sparks. He’d gotten too far away from her.
“Damn it.” Hissing as she pulled in a breath, which still was a struggle, Hamal remained on the ground till the magic finally eased and released her from its hold. She could breath again and while she still felt tired - exhausted she was at least able to breathe freely.
Once they were safe, a good distance from the senshi, Katya rubbed her face to the others cheek. “You did well, taking energy from her as well.” Leaving her less of a threat to them, even as his magic worked on her, Rene had done so very well just now. “Yes, I know. You did well and you are getting better, soon you’ll know this city like the back of your hand.” And then teleporting, thinking of places to teleport to, would come so much quicker and easier for him. Alexandre tended to use it, in a fight, as a weapon of sorts. Rene used it to escape fights…he needed to learn the layout of the city better.
“When I first became a corrupted mauvian I wandered the city - making a mental map of where places were. I need to know where dead ends and places were. I wandered so much my paw pads hurt. We should do that together. Each week we go out for a night and just wander, by roof top if you’d like, a different district in the city. We can spend more time in districts if need be. You can memorize areas.” It would be a good thing for him, so he knew where to go and how he could escape fights. It might just save him to have a good mental map of the city.

The sound of something exploding behind him had him curse but at least he’d gotten far enough away not to get hit by things. Exhaling and taking a moment to feel around if the senshi had followed him. It didn’t seem like that and he leaned against the alleyway’s wall for a moment as Katya rubbed against his face.
“I thought it might help make her a bit easier to deal with and it looked like I was right.” Otherwise whatever thing she’d thrown at him might have hit them both and he didn’t want that happening at all. Reaching up to pet her, he felt like that would be a good thing to start doing. He didn’t really like heights but it would help him see the city and not get trapped or cornered as easily.
“Okay we can do that and honestly, maybe sometimes as a civilian, I can do that right? But it might be odd for a cat to be walking with me…” It would be a problem but he might figure it out, maybe he could get one of those cat backpacks but he wasn’t sure how she’d feel about that. But he’d done enough for tonight and settled the image of the guest room in Alexandre’s home. “Time to head over to Alexandre’s and then a shower and maybe a bit of time with him.” Hinting at other activities if the other would be up for it so Katya knew to maybe not follow him into the blonde’s room.
