Jadyn had finally gotten the cast off of his leg. It was so nice to have full range of motion back again! Not to mention freedom from his sister’s overprotectiveness. She still didn’t want him to get a new bike, but he was firm about that. He would not be stuck driving a car for the rest of his life. Today, though, he had been out looking at different models and trying to find one that called to him. While he had loved his old bike, he felt it was time for him to get something different.
Needing a break to think about everything he had seen today, he stopped by a cafe that looked like it would have good food. It was a Korean place. He didn’t usually eat Korean, but maybe he had before the accident? He’d been remembering bits and pieces, dumb stuff like the color of his favorite stuffed animal when he was six. Things there were unhelpful to remembering his life before the accident.
He shook his head a bit and walked inside, the hostess showing him to a corner table and giving him a menu.

It was busy as usual in the cafe but Holland wouldn't have it any differently. It meant his work day would be a breeze and then he could go see his parents or go see what Yuki was up to. Granted he already had his mind made up but he wanted to give his parents a chance. A pretty tall looking customer came in, Daisy already had him seated so it was his turn to take the order. His state of dress wasn't ideal, but Daisy caught him on a dare AND invoked no balls so he had to do it for the sake of his manryhood.
After the customer took a seat, Holland walked right up to the table with a smile. “Welcome! What can I get you started today?”

Jadyn looked up as his server greeted him. “Ah, hi,” he said with a smile. “This is my first time here, actually.” Or at least he thought it was. He’d been looking over the menu but he hadn’t been able to narrow down what he wanted to try. The server was kind of cute, if he was honest. And so petite. “Do you have any recommendations?” There might have been a little flirtatious tilt to his smile that time.
It felt weird, to flirt. Which in itself was weird. Jadyn had always been flirtatious, but he felt…rusty? Marni had told him that he hadn’t been in a relationship when the accident happened, but she also hadn’t elaborated. She didn’t seem to want to talk about it, so he left it alone. Regardless, no one had come to him after the fact so as far as he knew, he was single and ready to mingle.

“Oh first time? Well I do have some recommendations for first timers~” He thought about Theo and wondered how he was doing since they haven't talked in a bit. Maybe he would text him to see if he wanted some updates on Charlie~ Holland pointed to a nice cafe sandwich on the menu with an amazing looking bobba. “ This is our house special if you want to try it~” It took him a minute to realize the more flirty undertone to that request.
Oh….
Uhhh….
He did not know how to handle this. Maybe he should be firm? But that would be mean wouldn't it? Okay maybe get Daisy to do something? But the guy seemed pretty nice…What to do? Ultimately, Holland decided to give the guy a good natured smile. “I've got other recommendations if that's not to your liking?”

Jadyn smiled a little more and looked at the items his server suggested. Honestly, Jadyn was a human garbage disposal. He would eat pretty much anything that was set in front of him, but he liked to try new things. “No, that’s okay. I’ll try the house special,” he said and closed his menu. He was pretty sure he had tried boba before, but as seemed to be usual for him lately, he couldn’t remember how he felt about it.

“Alright I'll have that coming right up for you~” Holland quickly moved to go behind the counter, his best friend grinning from ear to ear, “Never fails Holl, you seem to just pull them in don't you?” He rolled his eyes, giving her a deadpan stare to rival his boyfriends, “Not funny Daisy. If you didn't have me dressing like a girl today I wouldn't be going through this awkward encounter now would I?” Daisy giggled and rolled her eyes in turn, “Oh shut it, you know you would…You're too cute look like a guy.”
Holland sighed, “But I AM a guy. I just like to dress in skirts every once in a while….” Daisy took the order from him and patted him on the head, “Yes and you look like a cute little girl child now so I'd watch out for predators~” “Really?! Ugh I hate you…” “No you don't.” “Whatever….” Holland went to bus some more tables while he waited on orders to finish.

Jadyn leaned back in his seat and looked around the cafe a bit. It seemed like a cute place, maybe he should bring his sister to try it out. She was always looking for new recipes to try. He tried not to be creepy, but he couldn’t help sneaking glances at his waitress. She was pretty, and he idly toyed with the idea of asking her out, but maybe that wasn’t such a good idea. He could ask for her number, that was less…demanding? That wasn’t the right word, but it was the one his brain supplied him with.

Once the food was done, Holland took the order from Daisy, giving her a death glare that sent her cracking up as he walked over to the table. “Alright I have your order here and your bobba.” He carefully placed everything on the table, stepping back with a polite smile.

“Thanks,” Jadyn said and smiled a little. “Looks really good.” He took a sip of the boba and hummed. It was sweeter than he usually liked, but once in a while it could be a good pick-me-up. “Not too bad.” He gave her a small smile, now feeling nervous for some reason about asking her anything. What the hell was wrong with him? He didn’t remember ever feeling like this before. ******** this, take the leap Jadyn. “Can I ask…what’s your name?”

Holland gave him a bright smile, glad he could satisfy one more customer. When he asked for his name though, he did feel a bit nervous. “It's Holland~” he hoped that wouldn't upset him or anything…..He had the feeling this guy got something wrong about his identity.

Holland. That…didn’t sound like a girl’s name, but it didn’t particularly sound like a boy’s name either. He felt kind of dumb for having to ask, but now he couldn’t leave here and not know. “Okay, this is going to sound really awful, so I apologize ahead of time, but…are you a girl or a boy? Or non-binary?” He winced slightly, waiting for Holland’s reaction.

Ah.
Holland gave the man before him an apologetic smile, “You're fine….” he looked down with a blush on his face, “I'm actually a boy. My coworker thought it would be funny for me to dress up as a girl today.” Which once again, would not be a problem if he didn't know Daisy’s ulterior motives. She was lucky Yukio was such a chill partner. The things his bestie does for entertainment…

Jadyn relaxed a little, a blush forming on his face. Yeah, that was just his luck. “Some coworker,” he teased with a soft chuckle. “Well, regardless, you’re cute as a girl, bet you’re cute as a boy, too.” Where the hell did that come from? Jadyn didn’t like boys like that, and had only ever dated girls. His cheeks were probably embarrassingly red now as he turned away. “Ah, sorry,” he mumbled.

Holland was once again turning red.
“A-Ahahaha…. Thanks.” To be fair Yukio thought he was cute as well, which he blamed on the fact he was just so tiny. At his apology, Holland shook his head, “No need to apologize. Uhhhh in fact if you like, we could hang out sometime you know? I'm always up for new friends~” And maybe he could introduce him to the amazing DJ nightlife. Either way new friends meant more adventures and discoveries. “Ummm here…” He wrote down his number on a piece of paper and placed it on the table. “Just send me a text with who you are and maybe we can hang out sometime!”

Jadyn looked back at him in surprise. “Yeah?” He definitely hadn’t expected that at all. But he did need more friends, and was always up for new experiences. He watched as Holland wrote his number down, smiling a bit as he slid the paper into his pocket. “Thanks. I’m Jadyn, by the way,” he said. He was glad that Holland wasn’t too upset that Jadyn had mistaken him for a girl. “I’ll text you later, then,” he said and smiled.
