Leona had found another crystal inside of Mirrorspace and climbed through the mirror, her hand wrapped around the warm, red crystal. She had the feeling this one would do something…flame-y…but she wasn’t sure just what she wanted to do with it, maybe it would just go into the pile...and she would worry about it whenever she went back to the pile.
By the time she realized that there was a Knight right by her, she had pretty much walked into the blonde.
Slipping her crystal into subspace, Leona held her hands out, glaring at the blue and white clad hooligan. …Sure, maybe her outfit was better than the other two Pages she had run into lately, but she was still a Knight, and therefore, Leona didn’t like her, didn’t want to talk and just…
Well. Wanted her to go away.
“Shifting Cold!”
Was this the way to make friends? Absolutely not. Did Leona feel any guilt about just attacking before talking…
Honestly, not really. Not right now, at least.

It was probably the most bizarre thing–the sensation of Chaos randomly coming into existence immediately beside her–and before she could even turn her head she could feel someone running into her and effectively shoving her off with their hands. Ekstrom was honestly too surprised to really react beyond the initial, “What the ever living–?!”
And before she could actually finish her sentence whoever-it-was spouted off an attack and she was suddenly freezing, and the ground was shaking. Seeking to at least balance herself while she figured out the how and why behind the sudden drop in temperature, she took a knee and held her shield out, focusing to summon her forcefield. If nothing else, maybe she could return the favor of discomfort, however slight.
“That’s honestly a worse introduction than anything I’ve experienced to date,” said the Squire, currently a shivering mess behind whatever small bit of safety her shield afforded her in that moment.
“What gives?!”
Orangeiish Sherbert Squire — Ekström holds her shield out as if using it to defend herself. Upon focusing, a forcefield materializes from her shield and surrounds her and anyone within 10 feet of her. The forcefield is light blue and glitchy in appearance. She has a magic pool of 40 seconds. For the duration of her casting, the forcefield can either absorb or reflect (which one it does is up to her at the time of casting) all magical effects up to her rank. It can lessen the damage of third stage magic but has no effect on fourth stage magic. Reflected magic is only as strong as basic level magic if it does hit someone (she has no control over the direction the magic is reflected). She cannot reflect third or fourth stage magic. Individuals are able to touch and/or pass through the forcefield, however enemies that do will feel as though something inside their body is short circuiting, causing mildly sharp pains to run through their entire body. For a few seconds moving becomes a little bit uncomfortable. Magic is unaffected and unhindered within the forcefield.

“What gives? All of you Knights are annoying. Hitting me with sticks and throwing crystals at me, I just figured since you all like fighting and being jerks so much, I’d start out fighting and being a jerk right back!”
Leona realized she sounded…upset. And that her reasoning didn’t…well. It wasn’t great. Also…this girl could clearly use magic of her own which…good for her. “Tell me that you weren’t going to just come over and whack me upside the head with something? Tell me you weren’t going to just start fighting because that’s what kind of a violent creature you are?”
She would have said something nice about her outfit, and in fact gave a slight sigh. “...You are better dressed than the others, so you have that going for you. And you clearly have magic of your own, so. Maybe I was hasty. Maybe it’s just the baby knights who have no manners.”

It felt like forever before she wasn’t quite so cold anymore, and while the senshi was going on about her unpleasant run-ins with other knights, Ekstrom had straightened herself out. She stopped channeling once the chill disappeared, so the forcefield had gone as well, but she kept her shield up and ready all the same.
“For the record, I normally try to talk to whoever I run into first,” she said, irritation on the very edge of her voice. It was slight–it took a lot to actually get her mad as opposed to upset–but it was there. “It…usually doesn’t go over very well for me, or at least it hasn’t so far for the most part, but that’s how I do things.”
Looking over the senshi as she proceeded to basically compliment her uniform, the Squire felt her mood already start on an upward trend. “Thanks, I guess?” she said, not entirely sure what to make of the sudden development but finding it much more pleasant than the surprise attack.
“Your outfit’s pretty cute, too. Are those ballet shoes?”

“Oh, uh. Yeah.” Leona held her leg out and showed off her shoes…she liked her shoes. Always had. “I’m not sure what vibe the whole…cosmos was trying to give me, but like. I’m not, and never have been mad about it. My outfits suit me and they’re cute as heck.”
Running a hand through her hair, she hesitated and then gave a little sigh. “Sorry. I guess I should have tried talking first. It’s just. Burned once shame on me, burned twice shame for me, or…whatever. However it goes. I wasn’t going to take the chance with the third one in so many days…ya know? Sometimes you just have to bite first before you get bitten? I’m Leona. For what it’s worth. What kind of a Knight are you?”
She still had more uses of her own magic, and she wasn’t above using them but…talking wasn’t so bad. And she was being complimented so…she could handle this. For now.

Ekstrom lowered her shield a bit and peered over it when Leona presented her shoe, and she gave an appreciative nod. “Cute, and suits you. I love your hair, too,” she said, relaxing slightly now that they seemed to have fallen into a nice little conversation. Attacking on sight was definitely one way to break the ice, but not at all her favorite.
“Mm, it’s fine. I get it. Actually, I might finally understand how some of you Chaos folks feel about us.” She offered the senshi a little smile at her introduction. “Ekstrom, of Mercury,” she said, shortening her title just a smidge. It was less of a mouthful, and answered her question.
“Where did you come from, anyway? I was just passing and could swear you weren’t there. And then…well, there you were.” She looked as confused as she sounded, and she glanced behind her, at the bush she randomly appeared from.

“From the mirror over there. I’m a Dark Mirror Senshi so I can mirrorwalk and all that jazz…”
She looked thoughtful for a moment and then cleared her throat. “If you want. I can show you? And I can take you to my Realm? It’s like…my little place in Mirrorspace, we have these fancy crystals…and I had just found another one when I was in there, I think it must have something to do with fire, it’s like. Warm and fire colored? I don’t know what I want to use it for but…if you want to come see, I’d…take you.”
Leona wasn’t sure if this would be a good idea but…this Knight wasn’t as bad as the others. Not by a long shot…at least not yet.

Ahh, dark mirror senshi. She’s heard of them and was only vaguely familiar, but she couldn’t quite point out any specific encounters that stuck out to her. Honestly, that was probably more a good thing than a bad thing. Encounters with Chaos that stuck out to her, at least so far, had all been primarily negative experiences. There had been one exception so far, and this…well, it started bad but somehow shifted into something less bad.
Possibly even good, if Leona was offering to show her and give her a more in depth experience of Mirrorspace. Ekstrom was a sucker when it came to learning about this kind of thing, actually. Her wonder was one thing, but knowing that others had spaces similar to that fascinated her, and the prospect of visiting was beyond exciting!
That excitement probably shone in her eyes as she lowered her shield, not that she cared to hide it at all. “Yeah, I’d love to go if you’re willing to take me,” she said, expression bright and almost back to her usual. “I won’t get stuck inside or anything like that, will I?”

Leona brightened and shook her head. “I won’t let you get stuck. I promise. And we’ll come right back out here. If you’re ready…” She grinned and held her hand out, looking…excited too. Maybe…maybe not all Knights sucked completely? Maybe some weren’t that bad at all.
