With an amused grin, Hekate held her hand up and shook her head, “No apology necessary.”

“In my experience, Court meetings have been few and far between.” Either that or she just didn’t get the memo or invite that one was happening. “But I can honestly say I have not encountered many other Dark Mirror Senshi out patrolling in the almost nine years since I stepped through the mirror.”

“I was actually planning on meeting up with Lenka, the Dark Mirror Senshi of Watermelons. She’s been taking me to Mirrorspace to collect crystals.” On a few occasions now she’d given hers to Eternal so she can continue to build her island “Have you had a chance to meet her yet? I think you two would get along.” Mostly because Lenka had an energy that kind of matched Leona’s.

Hekate’s rank betrayed her tenure in the Court but she seemed unphased. “I admit I do wish my outfit was as cute as yours though. While mine is very seasonal, and it does allow me the chance to patrol before dark as we get closer to Halloween I think I’d prefer a more Greek aesthetic.”

“My name’s Hekate by the way,” should have probably offered that information first so the comment about her outfit aesthetic might make more sense.

Hekate was most acutely aware of her age especially since most Dark Mirror she’s met over the years were younger than her. There were a few exceptions but those who still powered up were in their early twenties it felt like.

“I’m the Senshi of Jinxes, nothing harmful unless you’re prone to accidents.” Useless which is why she rarely felt inclined to power up. At best it made escaping a flight a bit easier. Perhaps it was better used in a group setting or as a team with someone who was able actually to use offensive magic instead of a debuff to enemies. But she and Lenka had never tried to pick a fight with anyone to see how well their magic synergized.

Not a bad thing though since neither of them was particularly itching to engage with members of the White Moon group or their Knights.

“Have you at least met Remarque?” She asked since he was one who Lenka spoke of often and someone that Leona should probably know.

Hekate hummed softly, “Honestly, there really isn’t much to show. Visually there is a purple wispy trail of smoke. But, from what I’ve observed, my magic makes people fumble with their footing.” She’d only used it while fleeing before so wasn’t aware if it made it more difficult for them to aim attacks at her as well.

“That being said, I think I’d rather watch you use your magic on someone else than on me.” She offered Leona a rueful smile. Even if she knew what her magic did, Hekate was against the idea of submitting herself to possible pain. Magic might not be as lethal as a weapon, but can still be equally as unpleasant.

Hekate covered her mouth with a hand, a light chuckle escaping her. “I’m fine with finding someone else to use our magic on. Knights especially,” she added. They were ruthless and unkind, often jumping to conclusions of her intent just because a Dark Mirror aura was different than hers.

No matter, the two she’d run into with pastel-colored uniforms hadn’t been seen in almost six months. Maybe the Negaverse got to them first, wouldn’t that be delightful?

“I’m fine with exchanging information,” Hekate powered down and pulled her phone out of her side bag. “And yes, I do like candy. Preferably chocolate-covered nuts or fruits.” Although, she’d have to be careful with the chocolate-covered liquor cherries if those deserts were on the table. One or two max otherwise unfortunately things happen.

“I wouldn’t mind coming by and watching you make candy. The only thing I’ve ever seen made is saltwater taffy.” It was kind of fascinating how the worker threw the candy over a hook and stretched it several times before putting on some machine that had prongs that rotated between each other to make it soft.

“My name is Sage, I work at a veterinary hospital. Mostly helping cats, dogs, a few rodents, but I’ve also helped with a few exotic animals as well.” However, she tended to leave birds, especially parrots, to the other technician. Normally I work 7 A.M to 7 P.M but I pick up evening shifts around holidays when coworkers want to spend time with their families."

Sage understood the sentiment, not every day was a routine check-up, and there were often bad days with injured or sick animals.

“That sounds like a good idea, be safe heading home. And I’ll try to find time probably Thursday to come by your candy shop since it’s my day off.” One benefit of her work schedule was that she worked fewer days with them each being 12 hours. Enough time to decompress or pick up something extra.

“I don’t have anything worth sharing in Mirrorspace yet, but hopefully someday.” If she ever managed to earn enough merit to be given more magic so she could step through the mirror unaided. “I’ll see you Thursday.”

She waived to Evie as her new comrade, possibly friend, departed before powering up again. Yeah it was late, but her and Lenka still had plans to go crystal hunting and didn’t want to leave her hanging.
