The next part was something she’d been looking into for a while but could really only now progress with, buying up buildings. She’d have to start really small to avoid any suspicion so she went about some of the seedier bits of town originally to find available buildings. But tonight she decided to gravitate closer to DCU to hopefully find something that would work out to lure some students in who might be interested in a well-paying job with health benefits.
Smiling to herself, she took to draining people here and there as she walked through the crowds, tonight she’d taken to chopping that long braid of hers off and pulling a capelet over her uniform. It wouldn’t hide what her signature felt like but it would give her enough of a delay on a first lookover to make her move and blow their ears out.

Patrolling was a bit easier now that he was more powerful, and he even managed to beat up a couple of agents this week that he was sure would not be patrolling around these parts anymore. Currently he found himself at DCU, which brought up the thought of what his next classes were going to be for the upcoming fall quarter. He imagined it wouldn't be too hard but he really didn't want any more math if he could help it.
Gault sat on the edge of a rooftop, feet dangling while he watched the civilians below. To think that he was just like that almost two years ago was pretty fascinating. He almost wishes that was still the case but then again, if it was then he would’ve never gotten together with Yuki, and that would’ve sucked considering who they were to each other in the past. That would be a feeling he didn't want to know, what it would feel like without Yuki in his life.
Anyway, Gault continued to watch people, loving the fact that it was a chill night.
Till he felt chaos, but couldn't exactly pinpoint.
Great, night ruined already.
—--------------------------------------------------
She felt it, somewhere close but not exactly nearby. Scanning the crowd she didn’t think she saw anyone that fit the description of an order senshi but at the same time, she knew it would out her if she looked up towards the rooftops for them. So pulling her phone out, she opened the front-facing camera and looked at the edges of the view while making it look like she was pulling to the side to take a selfie. It wasn’t out of the ordinary, far from it in a college town, so it made it easier to try and figure out where that senshi was. Part of her was a bit perturbed to be bothered on a good night like this but if she managed things right she could get out of this without too much of a kerfuffle.
“Aha… there you are.” They looked almost like a kid and for a moment she wondered if they were a kid. Benitoite had told her that young children could be senshi but their magic wasn’t as effective. She wasn’t terribly conflicted when it came to the idea of kicking a small child if they dared cross her.
The next step would be to get up there without drawing too much attention, something that was easy to do as she followed the flow of some of the crowd towards one of the late-night restaurants before teleporting up to the roof. Taking a look at the senshi, she rested a hand on her hip as she sent her phone to subspace. “Looking for me?”
—-----------------------------------------
Okay so he hated the fact that the negaverse agents had teleporting capabilities.
Gault jumped but thankfully didn't squeak, turning around slowly to face the senshi behind him, “Sadly, as much as I didn't want to…Yes.” He sighed and stood up, placing a hand on his hip as well, “Don't you guys ever get tired of the whole energy drain thing? Is being a negaverser that much fun that you choose to stay and not purify or something?” He didn't know her powers so he would keep his distance but then again, she didn't know his either.
So they would be at a standstill till one of them took action.
—-----------------------------------------
“Well… I don’t see order being entrepreneurial, so I’m happy where I am. Not like skimming a bit off the top causes any issues for them.” Eyeing them she didn’t really see things being fun, it was work which was just a fact of life. Maybe she did enjoy poking the bear that was her brother but otherwise it was a job that provided her some added benefits to progress her own plans. It was exponentially better than what Aloysius had given her access to from the family coffers.
Stepping closer she knew at this point what fifteen feet looked like without having to measure things really. It had taken some trial and error in the training room with Benitoite and Stichtite, with her feeling a bit bad for the latter even after she’d given him shooting muffs to help with her magic. She wasn’t so horrible that she wished to blow her allies' ears out, just her enemies. At least this kid didn’t look like they had any sort of fire accent to their uniform so as long as she stayed at the edge of her range she figured it would work out just fine.
“You know the Negaverse does provide some better benefits than I’m sure order has, especially health insurance and access to doctors. Something you might need shortly.” With a smile she held her hands up and shrieked into where a microphone might be held in her grasp. The cacophony of sound started up in a fever pitch around her.
——————————-
Well he could kinda see her point.
But still, even in the movies being the bad guy does not pay off in the end.
Either way, Gault decided to prepare for a fight, but apparently this senshi was sound based…Great. The wave hit him like a truck and he almost flew back, but not before snapping both of his fingers, figuring she would be in range for his onion stench. Hopefully it would get her and he could slowly start to deal with this bullshit. Maybe he might have to signal for Spei if this kept going. He did not want to go deaf.
——————————-
Things looked like they were working well, especially since her magic didn’t backfire and hurt her own ears anymore but as she stepped closer to maybe drain the fellow a bit she gagged as the most horrible smell she had ever smelled started to assault her face.
“Oh my god… what the hell?” Coughing as she tried to cover her nose, it didn’t seem like anything helped though and she stepped back a bit more. “Oh, that’s so vile, worse than my brother after a bender…” Sputtering as she tried to step back some more she wondered if it might be better to just leave. At least they didn’t seem to have any physically damaging magic but she was certain this stench would haunt her for a while.
While she was still close enough, before making it back a bit more, she managed to drain them just a bit for her suffering from their magic. It wasn’t a lot but she wasn’t about to get closer to try for more as the idea of teleporting seemed to be a better option as she fought of the urge to heave.
—--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Once her stupid magic stopped, Gault started walking closer, “Oh I got more too…Come closer and open that mouth again.” If she did he would snap and use his powers again, maybe she would inhale it this time too. What pissed him off even further was how she had the gall to drain him a bit. Good thing he was a super senshi now and had more energy reserves than when he was just a basic senshi. Deciding he was already at his limit, Gault charged forward with every intention of punching the senshi in her stomach.
Sure she was a girl and usually he didn't hit them, but he was finding that dealing with girls from the negaverse would be considered an exception to that rule since they were mean and bitter depending on who you fought.
—-----------------------------------------------------------
Pulling something from subspace as they started to charge at her, she hurled the wood hairbrush at him and teleported back to the other roof, just across the alleyway. Maybe just in time as she felt a bit of wind from their swing. They couldn’t teleport but that didn’t mean they couldn’t make it across but the relief that came with that god-awful stench.
“How uncouth… ugh.” Rubbing her face to try and get that lingering memory of the smell to go away, she huffed and then glared at them across the alley. Adjusting her glasses and righting her fuku a bit she dusted off and took a few mental notes on them to pass along to Chalcanthite or Benitoite. Not that she intended to find this senshi again but she thought she might as well file a report. Annoying but probably not dangerous.
Taking only a bit longer to try and guestimate their height she huffed again and teleported, making her way far enough away from that senshi so she could power down and continue on her way back to her place.
