If someone were to ask Kioshi about his frost magic he’d admit to being glad he had it, it served several purposes, it was the fact he didn’t have that skill as a civilian which bothered him at times. It would be useful when he had a migraine. Lucky for him he hadn’t had an attack in nearly two weeks, something he must be doing right it seemed.
After work he’d decided to get some food, a conveyor belt sushi place in the city that he went to on occasion, before he’d gone home for a shower. Washed, his hair wet from washing it, he’d gone out for a walk where he’d powered up once he was a safe distance from his home. He’d already let Lorcan know he’d be out on patrol in case the other needed him for anything, the other might be a general but even they needed support and help - just as he did on occasion.
Nearly two hours into his patrol and he was chasing after a knight - rooftop to rooftop. He was teleporting to close the distance but the guy was fast despite being a whole lot bulkier than he was. This was not what he was looking for tonight…well yes and no. He was hunting for knights, and senshi, as he always was. But he did not need a chase - he wanted them dead.
Growling as he decided to aim his next teleport ahead of where they were he wasn’t surprised when he reappeared dropping on them and slamming them both into the roof top with a crashing and a rush of air escaping him. His hair was all over the place and reaching for it, as he wrapped his legs about the idiot, he worked and wiggled positions so they had their back crushing down into his chest with his legs locked about them. Wrapping his hair about their neck he pulled and tightened it - choking them. With his hands placed where they were he wasn’t yanking on his roots and he was keeping his hair as safe from breaking as he could.
“Just die already.” Growling out as he dug his heels into their gut as he held onto them as tightly as he could. He could feel an elbow hit into his side, digging in, as he huffed and fought to keep ahold of them.

It had been an interesting few days as Lorcan had met with his own doctor over the issues he’d started noticing. It didn’t happen as much when Kioshi wasn’t around which made him originally think it was just extra stress over things as he’d been trying to puzzle out the source of their migraines and what possible course of action could be taken. What he was not expecting was to be told nothing was wrong and then the realization that he now had to figure out how to manage this. It would be a conflict of interest if he kept having them come over so he’d prepared a list of his colleagues that would be able to manage the migraines but when it came to things for the negaverse… that was something he wasn’t sure if he wanted to change. It was still work which meant things would have to remain professional, not that he really knew how to navigate things.
It was frustrating and he’d tried looking into how things should be approached but there was no set procedure or really and solid and backed-up theories. It was a mess and while out draining tonight he found it hard to pull as much energy. His mind wandering to that image of their back, both with and without the dangling piercings. Dragging a hand through his hair, he sighed and found these feelings frustrating. It went against the norms and expectations that society had but at the same time he couldn’t help but feel saddened by the idea that he would have to push them away to keep up professionality.
It wasn’t long until he crossed paths with them, seeing them on one of the rooftops nearby in pursuit of a knight. The order counterpart to what he was, something he wasn’t as combative against but still disliked because they relied more on magic than officers did. Teleporting up, he got there just in time to see the knight being choked out by their hair. Seeing the hit, a bit of anger built up and he moved forward and plunged one of his rusty daggers into their heart. A quick twist and then he pulled it out, there was no point in trying to clean the rusty thing, he’d tried already a few times but it was impossible. “Seems you were having a bit of trouble with this one, are you alright?”
Looking over the corrupt for a moment as the knight started to slump from the chest wound, even if he hadn’t gotten them in the heart his weapon would have caused a bit of paralysis which would have made it harder for them to struggle against the other’s attack. Pulling something from his medical bag, he cleaned his hands slightly before using some sanitizer.

He’d sensed someone nearby, a captain from the feel of things, but he’d been rather busy with the knight he’d been after for a good amount of time if the flush to his cheeks and pounding of his heart was anything to go by. He was no runner, not one for physical activity, but the time spent in the Negaverse had given him some endurance…just not enough for this knight in particular.
When he’d spotted a figure standing above them both he felt relief - help was here. The blood that escaped the victim soaked his own clothing as well but he didn’t really care as he rolled out from under the body and took his time in breathing before pushing himself up and onto his feet. “A bit, this one wanted to attack and run…” As if he’d let them get away with attacking him, to stop him from draining energy and cause a scene which he’d had a hard time escaping, and then running away from the mess they’d left Miyamoto with. He’d taken off after them with the intent of killing them. They were dead and he was pleased, even if his back hurt from the landing on the rooftop, they had not been some light weight knight.
“I appreciate the help, I wasn't’ sure I could hold them long enough.” He was smaller, more flexible than the knight, but they weren’t going to go so easily into that good night. They’d been digging into him and making it hard for him to keep a hold of them. If they got loose he wasn’t sure he’d get them again, and he was determined not to let them get away. He was a rather persistent person when it came to handling order. This one had he lost his hold on them, and let them get more air, he might have lost them - an unacceptable thing.
“You’re nights going well I assume? At least compared to mine.”

“A smart tactic but not a good one in this case. You seemed to have them pretty well though, using your hair in that way though… was not something I would have considered. I might have to tell one of my teammates that. She uses her scarf in a similar way.” He’d seen it when his cousin had them both training down in the dark kingdom.
Giving them a once over, looking for any wounds or things that might need to be patched up, Stichtite again ran his hand through his hair as he tried to think. For once he probably looked tired to them, maybe even a bit on edge which was a far cry from his usual blank and professional demeanor. He couldn’t lie, maybe he’d omit things but he wasn’t one to lie just like his cousin.
“Patrolling has gone well, I gathered a few starseeds after easing some of the sufferings from a few people in the red light district. I’ve been mostly unbothered by order though. Good thing I was nearby to assist.”

“I don’t think anyone would think of the hair but we have so much of it…how can we not use it?” So long as the roots didn’t get pulled on it would be, he figured, fine to use his hair as a weapon. And with his hands on either side, to pull tighter and choke the knight, the roots didn’t have much strain and pull applied to them.
Letting the other look him over, almost pleased that they were checking to make sure he was alright, Miyamoto took note of the other looking rather exhausted. “You should rest, you’ve gathered energy and starseeds. You look like you need a good night or two in bed.” And maybe a day off work, though he wouldn’t say that, he had a feeling that a day off might just bother the other more. He seemed the sort to need a schedule and to follow it - or as close as possible. To disrupt it, especially to stay home, might leave him feeling very off and with nothing to fill the time it might just make matters worse.
“While I don’t fancy killing civilians I do see it as a blessing for those suffering…like assisted suicide.” Something for debate, something some countries permitted, it was a fine line though. When to allow it and when not to. At least the captain was a doctor and could gauge someones else fairly well, better if he were in his office or a hospital, and know what the out come for the person looked like. To help them wasn’t a bad thing…not really. Most of the people in that district, the ones suffering, also weren’t likely to seek help and would die anyway. It was simply the reality of the district and the sorts of people who lived there. It was a rather damning, and self damning, area to live in. With nothing positive to help people they just sunk further and further. At least there was this sort of help.
“I’m glad you were in the area, I couldn’t have gone for my tablet to call for help if I tried.” It would have left him too open and the knight would have gotten away, or continued on the fight. ”Do you want a walk home? I’ll gather some more energy on the way.” Even though he’d made his quota, he was good at what he did.

“While that is true, I still find it a bit odd. But then again it isn’t something I have to manage or deal with.” Though all the corrupt senshi seemed to have it which means there were a lot of people who had to deal with it and figured out what worked best if they didn’t want to cut it off every time they powered up.
For a second, maybe a bit too long, he considered seeing if they wanted to come over but then decided against asking as he sighed. “A bit but nothing I can’t work through. Sleep isn’t the issue, not at all. I will talk about it more later, for now, I would be up for the company to walk home.” Honestly a change in topic might do him well, anything to give him more time to figure things out as much as he hated considering things.
“Some of them are beyond help unfortunately and it is better to help them pass on rather than continue suffering. Falling into a coma is better than dying in pain because one’s organs are rotting inside their body or suffocating from an overdose.” All manner of worst case scenarios that he’d seen since he’d joined up. There wasn’t any pride in it, no malice either, it was just the best that could be done to ease pain.
“I don’t mind coming out with you more often if needed, just in case. Although I am on Benitoite’s team, I find myself free floating more often than not and even though I have gotten a promotion, I realize that that doesn’t make me invincible from the other side.” Something he could tell was on the mind of other agents, the ones who took risks and jumped into things without considering the consequences.

Whatever the issue was, which he’d let the other keep to themself, was however causing him sleep issues. Best the other get some sleep, if you asked Kioshi, before he went out for a patro while too tired and someone jumped him. The other might be a captain and could teleport but he was still limited and there were powerful senshi, and knights, out there who could put up a good fight. Not that he hadn’t gone out while tired…he had. Maybe he just worried because they were a captain and not a general…and lacked the experience. Maybe also the other was someone he tolerated more than most people, someone he could talk to and understand. Both were valid reasons for his concern.
“I agree with your reasoning, I think it’s a good cause and fair to them. To give them some sort of dignity…a quick and easy death without suffering or seeing it coming.” He could more than approve of that, it made sense in his mind, in fact it was the right thing to do really. Some people even if they turned their lives around were too far gone. But how many in that part of the city would ever pull themselves up? How many would offer them a helping hand so they could pull out if they wanted to?
“I think teams are a fairly loose thing, at least in most cases, it seems to matter more during plans and big things. It also gives a safety net but for normal patrols I think it’s very loose. I don’t have a team but I do fall under Wolframite’s team but again - very loose.” So he went out most nights on his own, but he knew if he needed it he could call on the half youma for help…and it would come. To ask for Wolframite’s help would mean he was really in need…and it would mean death at the others hands to whomever had harmed him. “I don’t mind going out with you on patrols. I enjoy the conversations we tend to have, they are deeper than what I get from my co-workers.” And he didn’t talk to a lot of other officers, he had no reason to. This was a job…not a social club. He did his job and that was typically all. Here he could find someone he could talk to easily, like Wolframite and few others. It added something more to his life, which he could use he supposed.
“While you’re doing good, releasing those people from their pain, I don’t see order liking it. Even if you explained it. Just because you’re on the opposite side of them, because the idea might be one they’d support.” Just not from the Negaverse. The other side would always have an issue with them, no matter what good they did, were any of them doing this though? Would any of them kill a civilian to end their suffering? They wouldn’t care if it was to help…all life was too precious to them or something like that.

It was still not a great thing that there was a loss of life but he knew it was the better option, even if someone else might disagree. At least they seemed to understand, to think about it rationally instead of coming to blows like order did. “I don’t quite care what the order senshi think, if anything let them try to take offense from it. Anything that gets them close enough to grab at their starseed without having to fight them too much.” He still didn’t like the fact that the normal rules of engagement didn’t seem to apply, especially when considering he was mainly a medic when it boiled down to things.
Walking along the rooftop, he felt around for any others, something he’d made a habit of as he sought out to confirm what rank or type of thing each aura linked up with. Not everything was discernible to him yet, something he figured would come in time but he made due with what he had available to him. It was part of sliding into the role of a field medic instead of being just a regular doctor, something he was feeling out and was still a bit uncomfortable with sometimes.
“So far I really see no reason to care for the order senshi, knights I am still undecided on outside of that one you seemed to be having some trouble with tonight. Magic is still…. Not something I am the biggest fan of if we are being honest.” Not even really worth pointing out that he was saying that to the person who in fact used magic frequently.
Thinking for a moment, as he rubbed his face just the slightest bit, Stichtite wondered about things again. “I’ve been thinking a lot about some things, our conversations and your visits for building a medical history…” Trailing off he waited until their walking brought them down a more secluded alleyway.
“I am a bit conflicted over some things, on if it is within guidelines to continue being your doctor.” His words came a bit stiffly and disjointed almost, as he tried to dance around things that he knew he wasn’t the best at. Being blunt was always his strong point but he also didn’t want to just come out and say things while he was still figuring it out for himself. So he was caught between a rock and a hard place as he spoke and tried to remain professional about something that toed the line between casual and professional.

“I can’t disagree there, anything which makes the killing of senshi quicker and easier so I can hunt down the next one.” Or grab some energy or whatever else, he just didn’t like spending more time than need be on order. He’d rather get it over and done with…and if he could intimidate and spooky them in the process he would be even more pleased. Following at the others side he wasn’t surprised that the other disliked magic, he knew that well enough, and yet the other still spoke to him and had tended to him when need be. It really had been a surprise, knowing the other disliked magic, but he wasn’t going to complain. Having a second doctor able to help, and aware of his situation, was beyond helpful for him. It was a safety net which he needed. It also was a secret he needed kept and both would keep it; thankfully.
“I’m glad the knight tonight you weren’t undecided on, considering I did need a bit of help. I’m not much for physical strength and I couldn’t hold out too much longer either.” He did not have the stamina for that, maybe he did rely too much on his magic.
Stopping for a moment, surprised by the turn the conversation took, he tapped one foot on the ground. “Why would it be an issue? If it was because I’m a senshi we’d have had this talk before now. I don’t see where the problem with you being my doctor is and considering the…unique situation I’d rather keep it someone I know and can trust - someone involved.” Someone else who was in the Negaverse. He had another option, he knew he did, that didn’t mean he was going to go with that option though - not for no reason. “You haven’t given a reason…that isn’t like you.” He finally stated, starting to walk again and coming up along side the other and passing him slowly. His hair drifted and he let the chill of cold hair float about himself as he blew out a puff of cold air as frost trailed him as he walked. “You aren’t the sort to decide something like this for no reason, much less so suddenly.”

“That is a bit of the problem that comes with relying on magic but you do have people to help out, just as I know that your magic is very useful for disabling order.” And probably anyone if he was being honest but that's another matter altogether that he didn’t like thinking about.
Shifting slightly as they passed him, frost started to leave a path that he needed to avoid stepping on unless he wanted to slip. It seems he was painting himself into a corner and he leaned his head back as he pressed a palm to his temple and sighed. “There are rules and guidelines on who a doctor can treat without it becoming a conflict of interest. The closer someone is to you, the more blurred judgment can be. I get by managing my cousins because they aren’t as immediate as my parents or siblings.” Letting it hang for a moment as he tried to think how best to approach things, this wasn’t his forte even when he was trying to be a bit less blunt talking to patients.
“You are right that I’m not one to come to things suddenly, if anything I dwell on the possibilities to make sure things are done properly. This… this is something I have no rules or guidelines to follow and I find myself lost, bewitched even.” Leaning his head back down to look at them as he tried not to make things worse. “You see, I find it odd… that you being close or touching me doesn’t elicit the same revolting response I have with most people. If anything I find it welcoming.” Another sigh as he tried to avoid saying things so directly, a bit of an exhausted look still on his face, now obviously tying itself to this topic as its source.

Turning back to look at the other, long hair trailing the ground and creating a semicircle about him. “Of course, I can understand those rules and I’m not surprised you adhere to them. But I’m neither close nor distant family….” But if the other was claiming a conflict of interest he knew it was true, as he doubted the other would lie about a serious matter like this. It also made a third option possible, one he hadn’t considered and normally wouldn’t. Why would he ever think to consider it after all? The other didn’t like corrupt senshi, or senshi in general, but tolerated him so he was working on a working friendship and allies…but it seemed, if the other was being honest, that things had taken a different path which he’d not thought of. Of course he hadn’t.
“Bewitched…an interesting, and I suppose fitting, choice of word. Though I’ve done nothing of the sort on purpose, no magic involved, but where this is going…what you're saying.” s**t. He’d tried dating and it had gone nowhere, not just because of himself, but that was over and he hadn’t planned to make an attempt at this again. There hadn’t been a point, friendship worked well, but that was Kai and this was Lorcan. Friendship here was working but the other had also admitted to giving this idea considerable time and thought. It could work…maybe? But how, what would this look like?
“Has this been what’s been bothering you, giving you stress?” He could see it easily being the cause. Tilting his head, just a bit, as he asked, watching the other carefully, while he wondered just how dirty the brick walls were and if he cared enough to avoid leaning on them. This uniform was self cleaning, thankfully, and the hair…it already dragged the ground. Deciding to lean on the wall, for a bit of support, he didn’t notice the frost creeping over the bricks as he tilted his own head down to the ground while he spoke, thinking over his own words.
“I’ve tried dating, once, and that ended recently. We both decided there was no difference between friendship and what we had…none at all. It was neither of our fault..it was both our natures, our lack of interest in certain things. You and I - we’ve talked enough that I’d hope you’ve gathered enough about my personality to know what dating would be like. I’m going to assume it would be agreeable to you otherwise you’d not be mentioning these feelings.” That was likely part of what they’d been considering for so long, could it work out, as he doubted Lorcan would invest time and energy into something which wouldn’t work. But would, or even could, it work?
Lifting his head and settling his eyes on the blond then. “I’d hope you know what I mean when I state a lack of difference between friendship and a relationship. The idea of dating wasn’t one I’d considered before Kai and wasn’t considering venturing into again, given that it really was no different than a friendship. I’d be willing to make a second attempt at it but just don’t go wandering into this with expectations…and I’m certain it’ll be something you’ll want to discuss further - to lay out boundaries.” How to dance around a topic and yet say so much. He could hope the other understood what he was, and also wasn’t, saying. He wasn’t the best with emotions, and never would be, he avoided things which were emotional most of the time. He didn’t see a point in intimacy, unless someone could give him a reason to see it’s worth, and he wasn’t going to be overly affectionate either. That wasn’t to say he couldn’t show affection, he could, it was just in small doses.

“Even though I am using an alias for your samples I find it hard to skirt around the base issue.” Thinking for a moment as he watched them and decided to lean against the opposite brick wall. “I think that may be it as well, something happening organically instead of arranged and pushed which is why I’ve been blindsided on how to approach things. Originally I had thought maybe I was suffering from some unknown digestive issue with how things felt.” Shaking his head he really had no reference, unless he tried to count the woes and tales of doomed relationships his cousin had relayed to him since joining the Negaverse.
“That and the additional worry about you that comes along with things.” Such as what he’d happened upon this evening, something that he hadn’t hesitated to resolve much as he was sure most people did when seeing someone they were feeling for being harmed. “Though that bit of magic you have with the cold hands has helped with the stress headaches, probably for more than the cold.”
Listening to their concerns, he could understand them just as he’d gotten at least some working semblance of their personality over the past months. That and he’d gotten to witness more than a few migraines and see how harshly it effected the other. It had been trial and error with medications but it was slow goings, as was anything related to headaches or migraines. There were just too many underlying issues and things that could lead to them before taking into account the environment as well.
Getting at the topic they were trying to dance around he pressed his hand back to his temple again as he closed his eyes to think. “I have… no prior experience dating or otherwise but I would say a clinical understanding of the process I think we are both dancing around. Though that is not something I would necessarily push for until things are figured out, as you say boundaries. I think that would work best, giving some sort of rule set or guidelines to try and navigate given my lack of experience. I would ask for maybe more occasions of that useful cold magic, I find it pleasant but I would avoid saying I expect it perhaps?” Still toeing around stuff, he sounded a bit strained but not as much as he had been at the start of the topic.
It was starting to feel like less of a minefield at least, something he hoped he could handle a bit better in time. Here he was thinking of loopholes to still treat them while pursuing something, it went against the norm just as he was sure would be the reaction from his family when he introduced them but at the same time he didn’t quite care since he was interested in seeing how things went.

Well, wasn’t that amusing - an unknown digestive issue. That was what having feelings for someone was now. He couldn’t help but find that amusing, even if he wasn’t a whole lot better than the other was with this. Chucking he tipped his head back for a moment. “This feels like the blind leading the blind…or damn near close. But rules and boundaries I think are a need, while also finding a way for things to happen as organically as possible.” Because he doubted pushing things, or setting expectations would do either of them any good. It certainly wouldn’t do any of this, relationship, any good and he was certain of that because he knew the idea of setting goals to reach was unsettling at best.
“I would think the rules would be things we already seem to be following, space and an understanding of each other's jobs, etcetera.” Had he and Kai laid down such rules? He couldn’t remember to be honest.
“I don’t mind providing relief from headaches with the bit of cold I can generate as a civilian. I think I’d consider it something you’d do for anyone you’re close to…” Finally pushing away from the wall his steps were slow, measured, as he closed the distance between them.
“To speak plainly, to make things a bit easier. I’ve tried dating and it failed, I’m inexperienced in dating considering it amounted to a really close friendship. Experience in sex…I lack entirely and to be honest I don’t understand why people talk about it like they do…like it’s some amazing thing. But the curiosity to find out, to know, isn’t there either - not really. Dating is…an interesting concept but how to date and not just be friends is…it seems to entail a certain closeness that I’m not sure how to approach without feeling like a flightless bird attempting to fly.” And falling flat on his face.
“I really don’t understand how people manage to go from friends to something else…it seems to make no sense. Just random.” What made people do those things…? He couldn’t recall really having that feeling or want. How did people feel those things…what pushed them to? Was he just not capable of it? “Perhaps this time things won’t wind up the same.” He was, if nothing else, willing to try again and see if dating someone else might just work out. They knew him well enough by now that they weren’t going in blind and they were the one approaching him with an interest so there had to be something there which would keep it from being just friends…right? Or Lorcan wouldn’t be here saying this, saying he had more than friendship type feelings. “I think…it could work…I’d like it to.” A smile tugged at his lips now and he blew out a ghost of chilly air towards the other.
“I think we can both manage to remain professional so you’re not going to be pushing me off onto someone else - some doctor I don’t know. You are stuck with me.”

“I agree, being mindful of our professions is the main part and then figuring other things out as they come along.” Watching as they moved in closer, he moved off of his own wall though remained where he stood for the moment. “I guess it would be the blind from my end of things, though I do believe I would be willing to work to figure things out. Though that lack of experience you mentioned had been on my mind since you mentioned endorphins that one time, when you were getting those temporary piercings done.” The ones he had been thinking of for awhile that had started things off in his mind.
“I feel it may be that random, considering my own history and viewpoint on most people. I would like it to work if possible as well.” Sounding a bit hopeful and slowly becoming less strained. The cold air felt nice, another bit of magic from them that he didn’t mind one bit because it felt nice with how warm his uniform was.
“I’ll make an exception, just for you because honestly, I would prefer to be the one taking care of your health. Maybe we can figure out a few things to help your migraines in time, some new options that may be available to us at some point. Though I would have to say I would enjoy seeing what other odd films you want to have me watch, you could come over to watch things at my place more often pending both of our schedules?”

“I think we’re going in blind, though I’m certain we both have some idea of relationships and how they work.” But it would certainly not be the same for them as for others, they were not like most people. Not only due to their evenings jobs, something he took seriously, but also them both being introverted. He had a feeling it wouldn’t be the easiest of things for them but it also might be the best for them as well, as neither of them being an extrovert would drive the other insane or push the other too far.
“What about me mentioning that interested you? Most wouldn’t think back on that, I’m rather certain my co-workers were clueless about what I was saying., but you still remember it” But he knew the other got what he was saying that day, without him having to say it, piercings did not do it for him…they were just there for looks and no other reason. Some people said they were addictive, piercings, and they could most certainly be as much. Others claimed people got off on them…got some form of pleasure and such. That might be true as well, he was certain it was, but he didn’t need either of those things. He wanted pain relief in his life and lower stress levels…neither of those came from piercings.
“Tom mentioned…a solution to helping the issue, to lower stress levels. It’s been a solitary thing which has helped, I’ve had less migraines than I’d been suffering.” Yet he still had them, he was bound to considering the life he lived. Oh, now that almost sounded like a hint to offering a certain possibility to help with his migraines. He was sure it wasn’t an offer for anything any time soon though but he did raise a brow at the blond. “Mmm, than I think we can come to an arrangement. I’m certain I can find a good movie to bring next time, I suppose we can arrange movie nights at your place and I’ll surprise you with something.” Now he’d need to think of what to bring…something which would be interesting for them both. He’d need to think on that.
