Azeria enjoyed digging around the edges of her family's small backyard. Sure it was a small place located in one of Belrea's busier cities, but in the youngling's mind the little plot behind the two story townhouse was its own world. The trellis that her mother had set up over the years behind the house, dark vines curling upwards that bloomed into vibrant colors whenever the flowers came in spring, was like a portal to another place with how many flower bushes and the like grew there in their little pebbled off spots. There were even some herbs growing there, the fresh smell of mint tickling her nose as she walked about with her layered skirts swishing around her ankles. It was nice being able to play around here like this since their parents didn't mind the girls coming out here with the fencing protecting them or rather preventing them from going into the nearby street, the long planks of faded white wood even blocking Azeria's view of the neighboring houses. Though she had learned in the last few weeks that there was one loose board, the bottom half easily twisted to reveal some of the nearby street once you crawled past the two azalea bushes nestled in front of it. Azeria had never crawled through it, she felt like it was a bit too tight for her comfort especially since she would hate tearing any of her outfits, but it was interesting to lay down and try to get a good peek at whatever was on the other side. The question for today was did she bother with it or did she continued with her little morning picnic? Already she had spread out an old quilt and woven basket to mark the area she had chosen to share pastries with her sister today, but the urge to peek was still lingering especially as she waited for her company to join her.

Audra came downstairs with a bounce in her curls. Her older brother had helped her to set the braided style the night before and even though he wasn’t around to make sure it still looked good the next day she’d been able to check in the mirror. A few loose strands fell around her face, but seeing as it looked intentional the child didn’t mind. She was just happy it looked as pretty as it did the night before. Audra liked things like that; things that just fell into place and felt right. It quelled a little part of her soul, and gave the child a pleasant smile.
By the time she reached the door she was already thinking about other styles she could try. Maybe later she could ask for her mother’s help, just incase Eyvin ended up staying the night with his friend? With a little hum, she made her way to the back garden and toward her sister. “You didn’t have to get everything yourself; I said I’d help.”

It was awfully tempting. Azeria shook her head as she focused on the picnic again. There was still so much left to unpack once Audra got here. The girl pursed her lips before brightening as her sister joined her, her lips curving upwards in a slightly mischevious smile at the statement. "It's alright! That way I can pick the pastries I like the most." She told her sister with all honesty, amusement making her gaze gleam before she gestured towards the basket. "But you can help take everything out so we can enjoy it all." Azeria had even gotten up early, slipping into her overly princess like dress that she enjoyed playing around the house in with its colorful layers and ribbons. Was it a bit over the top? Maybe, but at least she could enjoy it at home when she was dressed more comfortably and reasonably for any actual excursions. Her own hair was still straight as it simply flowed down past her shoulders, the bright flower clips in it only adding to her fairy inspired appearance. Their parents didn't trust her with steaming hot tea still so she settled on a teapot full of water with some edible flower petals from the bakery scattered across the bottom of the wooden cups that would float to the top for aesthetics sake. "I can pour the tea, if you'd like." A proper lady that she was...totally not someone who would sometimes crawl through the bushes with her behind sticking up as she tried to peer through the fence. Not at all.

The rose haired hybrid stuck out her tongue before smiling and crouching down onto the blanket. Her own dress, while not nearly as fanciful as her sisters, was certainly far too ostentatious to wear into society. Or, rather, would be for anyone else. She’d long since accepted the fact that she and her sister were just better than everyone else in their class because their mother knew so much more about fashion and that was that. Cold, brutal facts.
“I would love a cup, Lady Azeria~” She delicately reached inside of the basket and set about arranging the pastries, making sure the ones Azeria favored were closer to her and the ones they generally fought over were a little closer to her side. It wasn’t her fault that there wasn’t that much room near her sister, was it? Why, she’d needed to conserve space, that was all~

"Alright then, my pleasure." Azeria replied with a small smile, the youngling moving to pour the water into the cups. She was careful and didn't splash quite as much as usual this time as she filled both of their drinks. She watched the petals swirling about the top for a moment before noticing the pastry placement, the girl's gaze gleaming at the challenge as she placed one cup in front of her. "Hmm." She let out a soft tsk as she reached over with a cup, gently nudging one of her favored pastries back towards her side so that she could place the cup down. "Oh dear, it looks like you took the spot for the cup. No worries, I'll correct things." She teased lightly even as she stole the pastry before sitting back with her legs tucked against her side there on the blanket. Even if there wasn't technically a high society in Belrea like some of the other lands where Azeria heard tales of princes and princesses, the girl was fully prepared to play the elitist's game unlike her older sister who would rather raise her fists against any challenge.
"Very lovely weather today, Lady Audra." She mused, turning her attention towards the clear sky as she raised the pastry towards her mouth to take a dainty bite. That was what adults talked about around tea, right? Weather and things like that?

“How silly of me~” Audra replied tersely. She made sure that the little plate her own glass was sitting on was nudged just enough so that it acted as a barrier between her sister and the rest of the preferred snacks. “It’s very nice. Such good…clouds.” She’d heard enough of her Aunts and Uncles talk in the bakery to know clouds were important, same with wind and whatever the sun was doing. Honestly all she knew was that this was the first day in a while she was able to wear a full skirt without getting overheated.
“I may have heard something interesting inside.” She took a little sip of her flowered ‘tea’. “I might have.”

Azeria's smile held even though the corner of her lip twitched slightly at the movement. At least she had managed to secure one of her favorite snacks, the rest could come later she supposed. "It must mean good weather when they look like cotton balls, so no storms." She added, trying to think about any of the tidbits she overheard customers at the bakery whenever she was there to visit their Papa. They would just sit around with their drinks and pastries, talking about all sorts of things whenever they weren't complimenting her for how adorable she was.
Still, her annoyance was quickly replaced with interest as her sister mentioned potential gossip. "Oh?" Azeria mused, raising her own cup to her lips for a sip as if mimicking her sibling. "If you did hear something, then perhaps you might want to share. It would be a shame to carry such a burden by yourself." Okay, maybe she also had attended too many theatrical shows with her mother to see the seamstress's costumes in action. Some of it may have stuck with the youngling, just a little bit.

“Well, if I did hear anything it definitely wouldn’t be about our brother.” Audra lifted her cup to her lips and gave a sip. “And how he wants to stay here during the fall instead of going to the farm.” It was a tradition that had existed long before any of them, before their parents even, and for him to miss it; honestly, Audra had just assumed she’d heard wrong.
Still, the youngling gave a long, very dramatic drawl off her cup and looked at her sister over the rim. “And I really shouldn’t tell you why he wants to do it. “

A soft gasp left Azeria's lips as she placed the cup back down the blanket, her expression bright with curiosity and eager for the dramatics. "It would be such a shame if he did miss it. Is it really possible?" She replied, her head tilting as she pondered it. Why wouldn't he want to go to the farm? Going there in the fall was the best part of the year! There were so many goodies, all the crops and so much fun to be had with all the games and such! She loved all the different ways one could eat apples and pumpkins, by drinking ciders or enjoying pie and other cinnamon spiced treats that simply melted on your tongue and fought against the autumn chill.
"Perhaps it's a good chance to aid our brother." Replied Azeria after a moment, her hand moving from her chest where she had rested it in shock and back to her pastry so that she could take another bite. Chewing thoughtfully she finally swallowed before nodding. "If we know the reason then perhaps we can remedy whatever would stop him from going to the farm."

Audra nodded her head. The gravity to it wasn’t entirely put on; she was worried, but playing up the dramatics was just fun. “I don’t think we can do anything to stop it.” She shifted her cup until she was holding it with her left hand, and the right went out across the blanket for a blackberry puff. “From what I heard Zev’s family is moving soon and Eyvin doesn’t want to miss any time with him.” She didn’t know the sickly boy as well as her brother, but she knew they were close. He didn’t come over as often as Audra’s friends – mostly it was her brother visiting him – and she knew him to be an odd kind of kid. Odd in the same way that got her brother picked on.
“If he doesn’t go he’ll have to stay at the house by himself.” Which she really didn’t see happening. Eyvin was older than them, but he wasn’t that old.

"Is that so?" Azeria did so hate being told that she couldn't do something. The very thought made her lips press tightly together, the stain from the blueberry filling of her pastry lingering around the corners of her mouth and making her frown more dramatic. "So Zev is the reason, I see." She murmured, finishing off her pastry with a final bite, and then as she finished chewing an idea came to the girl. "Why can't Zev come with us? Then Eyvin can watch him at the farm!" Would that be an idea? There were already so many people at the farm that another couple of guests surely would be okay, right? What if Zev's whole family had to come along? Then the more the merrier! At least that's what she heard others say sometimes...would her family actually feel that way though?
"Mama always says to make memories when you can." Azeria added, hoping Audra would agree with her idea. "We should bring it up and see what Eyvin thinks....somehow." Did they need to be sneaky or just attack directly? Either way she was determined to at least try and get her brother to go to the farm with them. She didn't want him to miss a single year and so they just needed to get Zev to tag along as well. That should be easy enough, right? Not that she knew the full details about Zev, other than he was their brother's friend and sometimes looked like a breeze would knock him over...

The little hybrid nodded her head and popped her index finger into her mouth to lick off the jam that coated it. She couldn’t say she’d thought of Zev coming with them before; namely because she didn’t think he could. “I dunno, his mama’s really strict.” What few times he’d been allowed to come over it was never for a full night and Audra had gotten tired of ‘oh, my mother doesn’t really let me-‘ kinds of talk. “We can try though.” Maybe with the both of them helping out it might work? Especially since he was planning on moving and all.

"Oh." Azeria's expression fell with disappointment before she shook her head stubbornly. "We can come up with a safety plan. What if we just wrap him up in blankets or something so that he can't get harmed?" They packaged delicate goods for the bakery in layers of packaging, would the same work on Zev? They could bundle him up in jackets or something even! Give him a mask, get a whole patrol to watch over him just so her brother could go to the farm with them as usual....a soft sigh left her lips. "It doesn't hurt to ask at least." She murmured, taking another sip of tea to try to ease her disappointment even as she didn't know what to do next.

Audra giggled. “Maybe we can put him in a big bag with a ribbon.” She’d seen some of the baskets and crates that left the bakery; it could happen! After wiping her fingers clean, the youngling scooched around on the blanket and gave her sister a better look. “So, what did you have planned for today? Not more chores I hope.” The tea party was well and good for now, but what about later? When their parents eventually caught on to the two free loaders and gave them some work.

Azeria giggled at the very image of shoving Zev into a bag like that. "Maybe! Talk about a present for Eyvin." She teased lightly before the next question had her pausing. What did she have planned for today? Azeria pursed her lips and looked around at the blanket with their little picnic display. "Well, this." She admitted with a faint flush on her cheeks. "I thought we could just enjoy the flowers and play around in the yard while sharing tea." It wasn't as official as the cafe, but it was still a nice spot to just sit around and enjoy the late summer weather. But if they needed something else to do then what? Azeria tapped her fingers against her chin thoughtfully before a soft whining caught her attention, almost as if their desire for something exciting to happen had come by magic.
"What is that?" She whispered quietly, leaning forward to try to listen more. Was it coming from the bushes? Oh! The youngling blinked at her sister before gesturing towards the azelea bushes. "There's a peek-hole in the fence...do we dare?" Another soft whine made her violet gaze dart towards the area in question, concern crossing her features.
