Turoa Raukura was born in the large settlement of Akamu. His parents, both respected guards, instilled in him strict values and beliefs. As a child, he was curious and adventurous, often leading small expeditions with his friends into the safer parts surrounding Akamu. He was captivated by the glowing creatures and the stories of the deeper, darker parts of Ka'lei. His mother would tell him tales of the treacherous journeys through the pitch-black trenches, always emphasizing the importance of respect and vigilance. Turoa’s imagination was fueled by these stories, and he often pretended to be a brave guardian, protecting his friends from imaginary threats. As he approached his teenage years, his parents decided it was time for him to undergo formal training to become a guard of Akamu. The rigorous training program was designed to instill discipline, strength, and loyalty. Under the guidance of seasoned guards, he learned combat techniques, survival skills, and the art of navigating the treacherous waters of the trench. While he is still learning much, he is excited to go out into the world.
