She remembered this girl. She was the other kind of senshi, neither the ones in their natural form or the ones that served the Negaverse, but a third variation, the ones with the mirrors.

She remembered agreeing to try to investigate these mirrors and mirror islands with this one, Leona.

She had not been able to find her after their previous conversation, though, so she had switched her focus back to researching Earth and its natural biology and features.

Now, she nodded at the mirror senshi, however, some of the nerves that flared up hen she met a new person settling away as the recognition set in.

"Yes," she said. "I would love to see it now."

Naeria nodded, and let the senshi lead her to this mirror she spoke of. Once they were there, she took her hand and stepped through.

Fascinating. Naeria knew what mirrors were. They were made of glass. they were solid. This one rippled like water, though, and other than a slight change of temperature, she didn't notice much difference from walking through it than she had when she walked down the street.

Once inside, she looked around.

"This is like another world," she breathed.

In some ways, her first steps here were almost like her first steps on Earth, with how different the surroundings were from anything that she had seen before. It was different from Earth too, though. It was emptier. Misty.

She turned to Leona. "You have a space here?"

Naeria walked with Leona again, curious about what was beyond this other mirror. The feeling of falling made her gasp, and made the panic kick back in. Was this a trick?

Was Leona one of the humans who wished to harm her? She had not seemed like that, but they could show another face so quickly.

Then thy landed in another blank space, and Naeria was not hurt. She blinked.

"This is for you to build something?" she asked.

It seemed flat. It was stable. In those ways, it was ideal for construction. All they were missing were materials.

"Do you need to bring things here to do that?" she asked.

There was nothing. Then there was water.

Naeria blinked. She had seen many things that seemed impossible since she had come to Earth. She had seen sunrises, and magic. She had seen life thrive in a variety of environments, including harsh ones.

She had never, however, seen something created from nothing.

Was it an illusion? Was it simply some feature of this realm, changing shape? Or was it true creation? The questions came almost as quickly as the initial surprise. There had to be some limits to this kind of thing, or Earth would not be facing its own struggle with lack of resources.

"What are the crystals from?" she asked. "Where did you find i?"

That would be something worth studying.

"Do you have more?"

So the crystals were from Mirrospace itself. That was evidence for the theory that what was happening was some kind of environmental feature of this strange realm. Still, it was fascinating. It was possible that this Mirrorspace was another place that her people could find resources or perhaps seek refuge if Velencya did fall.

They’d entered through a mirror. She wondered if there was a way for them to set up an entrance like that on Velencya? Or was it one of those things that was unavailable to anyone but senshi?

It required more research.

If she could see more of what Leona did to this place over time, maybe she would have more answers.

“It is amazing,” Naeria agreed. “I would also like to see what you can do here.”

Candy? Naeria considered this concept, far more carefully than she’d considered the opportunity to come research within this mirror world. Her curiosity had taken over in that moment, but since coming to Earth, she had been very careful about what she ate.

“I would like to see you again,” she said. “To see this place.”

That was an easy answer.

“The candy, um,” she didn’t know much about how it was made, “Is it vegan?”

She refused to be part of animal cruelty.

Leona would help her pick out candies and other food that was vegan? That was thoughtful. That was more thoughtful than she was expecting from a human. “Thank you,” she said, sitting down next to her. As she reached out to touch the grass, it felt real to her. It did not feel like an illusion.

Interesting.

“I have tried the dark chocolate before,” she told her. “I liked that one. I have not tried the hard candies. I would like to.”

She glanced over at her, at her hands. “I have learned some cooking,” she told her, “But only simple things. Beans. Vegetables. If you are making candies, you must be very skilled.”
