In the afternoon, there had been a thunderstorm that had poured down rain for an hour or so, and afterwards, the grass had been wet and the air had smelled fresh and perfect in a way that Naeria couldn't quite describe. Of course that evening, she'd gone out to see if any new mushrooms had sprouted in the aftermath. They loved this kind of weather.
She'd been looking in one of the alleyways where she often found some growing.
She was not, however, expecting to find one that big. It was spotted like an amanita, but the shape was all wrong. It was wide at the bottom, and very round, and it had feet.
Eyes, too, she saw, as it turned around to stare at her, and then smiled, revealing a row of sharp teeth.
Fascinating, she thought as it started to waddle towards her.

Kemi was searching for the feeling of something nasty in the night. It wasn’t strong...the feeling wasn’t strong, so she assumed it was one of the abominations, rather than one of the corrupted people...but still. Whatever it was. It had to be destroyed like all Chaos did.
Leaping off of the nearest building she ended up in an alleyway that…was rather dark. And she saw the abomination at once…a large…something. And it was heading right towards…
Kemi blinked, doing a double take at the other person in the alley, who was about to get mauled by the creature. She…wasn’t human. Kemi could see that right off but…she didn’t feel like…anything. Not a Senshi…and not Chaos…
“Who are you? What are you? Why are you not destroying that Chaos creature?”

Chaos, Naeria heard, just in time, and then she jumped back just before the creature jumped forwards, chomping its sharp teeth right where her face had been. A youma. That conclusion fit with the evidence about it that she had observed so far. Now that she was looking at it, the small eyes seemed to shine with malice. Naeria scrambled backwards some more, reaching for her gun. "Apologies," she muttered, glancing sideways at the woman who had arrived. "It is difficult to, um. Tell the difference between these and the native, um, species." Her voice went quieter, nervous about the way the woman was asking about what she was. She couldn't find the voice to answer that question. If she answered wrong, would she be attacked? If she didn't answer, would she be? She fired a bolt at the youma, at least not wanting to be attacked by thatOrangeish Sherbert The bolts are programmed with the chemical structure of certain mushrooms and have mild hallucinogenic properties. A single target hit with the bolt might see colors shift and lines blur for 10 seconds on impact, making it difficult for them to aim their own attacks.

Kemi lurched, worry on her face as the creature went to attack the pink girl, and she shook her head, absolutely unwilling to let that happen. But then…the girl used some sort of a weapon against it, and Kemi paused, but not for long. Leaping into the air, she came down hard on top of the youma, and then almost bounced off, landing next to the girl.
…The girl who was also clearly not from earth.
“You have…no aura about you…I wish…to understand when this threat is neutralized…I’m afraid that my magic isn’t really such that can help…but. I can keep jumping on it. They turn to dust if you are rough enough!” She knew that much at least.

"From Velencya," managed Naeria, but that was all the words that she could muster in the current situation. Even with the youma's sharp teeth, trying to squish it seemed violent, and hurt her heart. She knew that things like this were complicated, though. She thought about the invasive species of bugs that she'd found in the woods with Gabby. She thought about what Lyndin had said, after revealing that he'd been working with the Negaverse. He thought that it was Chaos protecting Earth from the outside forces more than anything else was. Then she thought about the youma digging those teeth into Andreyia, or Portabella. With a small determined noise, she jumped on it.

Velencya? She wasn’t sure where that was, but she liked the girls spunk. Liked that she took the initiative. With a small grin, she leapt up again and came down on the youma, and with both of their weights combined, the creature gave a horrible, feral shriek and turned to dust beneath their feet.
Reaching out, Kemi moved to steady her new…comrade. “Are you hurt? Did it bite you?”
She wasn’t sure if this was a friend or a foe, but she had helped…and that was important. Even if she didn’t know what or where this person was from…
Perhaps they could be another kind of ally?
“I am Kemi, the Senshi of Deception…I am also not from the Earth, it is…nice to meet a fellow…stranger to this planet.

“We’re researchers,” she managed, as she caught her breath once the youma burst into dust. “Looking for ways to help our world. I am, um,” Introductions? Was that what they were doing here? “Naeria,” she said, and nodded. She did not add any other Earth pleasantries, because she was aware that the other woman was not from Earth. Instead, she glances at the pile of dust by her feet. “Thank you,” she said, “For warning me.”

“I despise Chaos…it destroyed my home…it is nice to meet you, Naeria. I am glad that you are safe…I have not heard of your kind before but…” She gave a small smile. “Each new ally is a good ally.”
Kemi blew out a breath. “I should get going…but…do be careful? This world…is full of monsters. Do not trust them…I have learned that much…”
She sighed and glanced away. “I hope to eradicate the chaos. And in doing so…find a way to eradicate it from my world as well.”
Naeria didn’t need to know that. Didn’t need to be told, but…that is fine.”

Chaos had destroyed her world? Naeria put that information with the other facts that she had considered over the last few seconds. It did not seem false. She was not a historian, but she knew some things. She did not know that she always trusted Lyndin's information, even now that the had reconciled somewhat. She did not say any of that to this woman, though, this stranger. "I will be, um, careful," she managed. And then she was slipping away back towards the house.
