After her encounter with that awful Negaverse Senshi, Asuka was pretty sure she never wanted to deal with anyone from that stupid organization ever again. (Organization? Group? Whatever, she didn't care.) Her jaw was still bruised, black and blue all over her cheeks, and it hurt to talk and to eat, but if she didn't go out and do something as a Senshi, she would be bored out of her mind, so....she was out. Seated on a park bench peaceably, letting her mirrorwrtaith do its little wraithy job. Tonight's wraith was a sort of very long rabbit-creature, and it happily wibbled about--or, as happily as she supposed a mirrorwraith could be--sucking up energy from passersby.
There was a Negaverse aura nearby, and Asuka froze.
It probably wasn't the Senshi from before, but that didn't mean anything. Did they talk? Would this one know the woman she'd fought with? Maybe take exception to her general ********, Asuka hoped not.

Vesuvianite had grown much more confident lately, in his abilities to sneak around and steal energy to feed Negaspace. It seemed like he had just... finally gotten the hang of it, and of knowing when there was far too much going on for him to handle and needing to skedaddle. He was very comfortable with his level of power (though of course he desired more; he just knew how to handle himself better these days). When he realized the area he was in was filled with people that had clearly already been drained of some of their energy, he wondered who else could have been out and about around here—he didn't want to kill anyone, that seemed like a step he wasn't quite ready to take—but he wouldn't mind taking a break, maybe meeting someone new. He moseyed over to the Dark Mirror aura he felt, giving the girl a soft, shy wave. "Hiya. Didn't mean to intrude on your area," he greeted. "I'm Vesuvianite. Will you be out here long?"

Asuka still felt wary and tense. But then, she'd started things with that Senshi; maybe if she was polite and careful, she could get herself thorugh this without any further violence.
Maybe the real lesson was that she needed to stop being so dramatic when she was powered up. That she had come out of her shell too far and needed to retreat a little. That....probably made sense.
So she smiled, even though it hurt and pulled on her bruises. She shook her head, but politely, sweetly. She folded her hands in her lap and shifted to make herself just a little smaller and more demure.
Don't be a threat. Don't fly off the handle. Don't be an idiot.
"I was just finishing up," she said, lightly. "I'm Asuka. Pleasure to meet you." Please let me leave.

Vesuvianite frowned slightly, stepping just a bit closer befoer stopping and realizing she probably didn't want them to get any closer. She looked... nervous, afraid. He now wondered exactly who had given her those bruises—if it had not been some stuck up White Moon jackass, then... "Hey, no need to leave on my account," they said softly, sticking his weapon in an inner pocket of his jacket to clasp his hands together in front of him. They really didn't want to appear like a threat. Maybe powering down...? No, the last time he'd done that even with a Negaverse officer, he'd been lightly scolded about it. Bad idea. Don't do that right in the open, either. "I'm kind of over the quota this week anyway," he said. "Um, would you like to maybe, uh, hang out? Or something? Company's nice, and, uh..." A bit too late, he cringed at himself, gesturing apologetically with his hands. "Sorry, that sounded weird. I'm not, um, trying to come onto you, not that you're not pretty, or anything like that, I just, uh, thought maybe you could use some more pleasant company after, um, well, I mean, something happened and I don't wanna intrude and ask what happened because that's rude, but I mean, we could, like, get ice cream or, uh, you know what, I'm gonna shut my stupid mouth, sorry."

Asuka really wasn't sure what to make of the Lieutenant before her. In theory, he seemed thoroughly straightforward; so honest and kind, and obviously uncomfortable. But she still wasn't sure--interfering in the Negaverse's affairs seemed a risky proposition.
Still, trying to rabbit off might be the worse decision.
Ugh.
"If you say so," she said, and she scooted over on the bench to make some space. "I don't know about getting ice cream or anything, but I guess I wouldn't mind sitting and talking? And, ah." She smiled, a little wryly. "You're cute, too." He was. And maybe if she flattered him a little, that would make this whole thing go easier.
"But, um. What happened was my fault, I started it, so don't worry about that."

They sat, very carefully, next to her, smiling shyly. "If you say so," they joked lightly. "Still, I'm sorry." They took a deep breath and let it out slowly, enjoying a cool breeze as it blew in. Only then did it really register that she'd said that they were cute, too, and their face turned cherry red instantly—god, being pale was such a curse. "I, uh, thanks. You seem pretty, um, nice. Hey, so, what's it like, with the little animal things?" He nodded to her mirror shard. "They seem pretty adorable."

Oh, yeah, okay, this Lieutenant was super cute and not at all threatening. Asuka found herself relaxing little by little--maybe the incident with the Senshi had benhe a one-off, and she could kinda...let it lie in the past. But also not cause trouble for the Negaverse again. That seemed like a good idea.
"It's fine, really," she waved a hand, shrugging, and held up her mirror shard so the fat, full wraith could dive in.
"They don't really have any personalities or anything," she said, "but they're kinda cute. They're different shapes, always made out of mirrorshards, but they all basically do the same thing--start out ethereal, suck up energy, get solid, and come back to us with what they've gathered. Pretty simple and straightforward."

"Man, what I wouldn't give for a nice shortcut like that," they said with a soft laugh. "Sit around, read a book, send the animals out. They seem a lot more tame than youma, for sure." They shrugged, then. "I don't know if I'd ever want to command a youma. They're cool, but in the way a tiger is cool. Don't want one for a pet, y'know? Or even to be in a petting zoo." He laughed softly. "I, um. Thanks. For the company. It's nice, making friends."

"They're called mirrorwraiths," Asuka said, "and yeah, they're really convenient. Since they don't really have opinions or goals or anything like that, they just...do what we need them to do."
She shrugged her shoulders. "It's all very hands-off, which is really nice. And a mirrorwraith is never gonna bite me, or anything like that." She nodde,d briefly, and then dusted off her skirts and stood.
"Anyway, it really was nice meeting you, but I'm finished here, and I need to head home." She gave him a little wave. "See you around, Lieutenant."
At least not everyone in the Negaverse was a violent murderer. That was good to remember.
