The Fireflies (6) : In the warm summer nights, little glowing lights begin to bob and dart through the city. Fireflies are mating, so this isn't uncommon in itself; in the past few days you've probably seen hundreds of fireflies. What makes these lights so unique is that they seem to change color; you might see a blue one, a green one, a red one. They flicker randomly, and something just seems off with them. If you come into contact with one, you will find yourself with a strange electric jolt. They cannot be caught, and will flicker away if you pursue too aggressively. This isn’t the first time they’ve appeared in Destiny City, but no one’s been able to tell where they came from or where they’re going. No matter how quickly you chase them, they always seem to disappear before you can find any answers.

The colored fireflies, which he was certain were not in fact fireflies, were something Miyamoto was unsurprised to see as they hovered and moved here and there in the night air, winking in and out they had various colors. It was rather pretty to look at but he knew they stung as well, they weren’t all pretty, it was like a rose…pretty but with thorns. It was why he was avoiding them as he wandered through the park, gathering energy here and there as he went.

Silly people were sitting around watching the bugs, some people giggling and laughing as they were stung. A yelp here or there often followed by a giggling voice, or several, and he couldn’t help but glare in the direction of the noises. How annoying…how immature. Why would anyone find this amusing? It was annoying; not being able to walk about freely without the risk of being zapped.

Rolling his eyes as he continued Miyamoto wasn’t expecting something to come towards him…a pale silvery blue light that looked more wisp like than firefly like it was also larger. It hung around him and moved from side to side, as if inspecting him, before it settled at his side at shoulder height. Curious dark eyes stared at it for a moment before he reached out - and wasn't stung. "Interesting..." He mused softly as he decided that this thing wasn't harmful, at least not yet, and it was just hanging about so he did the only thing he could do - he wandered.

He wandered the park, gathering energy here and there, and leaving people unconscious on benches looking like they’d just…fall asleep. It was a nice a idea really - falling asleep on a nice warm evening in a park surrounded by dancing fireflies, never mind them not actually being fireflies. But during his wanderings the little wisp remained by his side, keeping close to him as he moved, it didn’t shock him or anyone else. It didn’t seem inclined to interfere in things though at times it did drift closer to the civilians, or himself but it always backed away.

Perhaps there was some sentence about it but he really couldn’t be certain either.

By the time he’d gotten enough energy to satisfy himself, because he always liked to be above his quota, he was willing to trust the little wisp which had kept him company most of the evening. He wasn’t willing to entirely trust it but he was trusting it enough to leave it for now. If it was going to do something it wouldn’t be tonight, since he was powering down and the wisp vanished as well, so it would need to try another night.

Yawning as he stepped out of an alleyway he headed for home, he had a bit of a walk but that was fine - he’d be good for a fast shower and bed as soon as he got home. Omen would, without a doubt, join him in bed and perhaps even try and take a shower with him. Whoever said cats disliked water had never met Omen, that was for certain, as the large black and gray cat seemed nearly obsessed with it.
