Quote: Firework Flowers (13) : A rare and unique breed of flowers that blossom into long, stiff-stamened, spherical orbs like those of the blossoming Powder-Puff flowers are on full display in Destiny City. A unique hybrid of several species, these plants were being engineered at a small landscaping company. While they were only meant to exist in their private greenhouse as they continued development, a simple accident resulted in thousands of seeds spreading across Destiny City. Thankfully, the Firework Flower is a beautiful, albeit temporary addition. The stems grow rapidly and look like tall blades of grass until the week before the flower blooms; the bulb is hardy and opens overnight to reveal the beautiful firework flower, which can be found in almost any color. However, unlike normal Powder-Puff flowers, when these flowers are jostled they explode in a burst of colors. Whether it is a simple touch or a strong breeze, these ‘Firework Flowers’ seem to burn up from the center of the flower outwards. It creates a beautiful display of light–especially at night. Scientists describe it as a harmless chemical reaction and encourage everyone to appreciate the flowers while they are here. The dust from an explosion can carry on the wind and will glow for a few hours after the reaction. The explosion cannot harm anyone and poses no danger to anyone. Targovishte found the flowers fascinating. Honestly, she wanted to see if she could get some and maybe take to Targovishte but…she doubted it. As with all of the holiday mischief from the city, this was most likely a one time only thing. Or…around the Star Festival only thing…which. Okay. Sucked, but it made things feel more exclusive…which could be a good thing.
She was crouching down, examining one of the flowers as it burned, having poked it with the tip of her staff and it was…fun. Soothing. Calming?
Interesting. Though, the feeling of another Squire coming into the area made her look up, and then stand up, breaking into a grin.
Pretty cute girl alert!
“Hey! I’m Targovishte…you out to look at flowers too?” She wasn’t sure what kind of a Squire the girl was…but honestly?
Who cared. Pretty girl, no thoughts head empty for a moment.

It really was a lovely summer evening, and Sonora was glad for her decision to go out and take a walk. Even if it was hot and uncomfortable, and her flowy floral dress should have made her feel far too warm, she was...happy. And she was also pretty sure that being magical was doing some lifting, because she couldn't remember freezing her toes off in the winter like she ought to have.
All around, a benefit. And, particularly, it was a benefit to get to be outside, enjoy the weather without melting, and experience all Destiny City had to offer during the Star Festival.
She felt another Squire, and turned in that direction; meeting other Knights was always a good time, and she approached, and made a little delighted noise. More of those wonderful firework flower--how lucky to get to find them out in the wild, twice!
"Not specifically," she said, "but I found a little patch of these before and got to watch them go up in colors. They're so pretty, aren't they?" She extended er hand with a broad smile. "Hi. I'm Sonora. It is absolutely delightful to meet you, Targovishte."
What a doubly lucky night. More flowers and someone who was pretty likely to be a new friend.

“They’re amazing, yeah! I’m so glad that I was able to find them, I didn’t realize that they were even a thing!” Targovishte glanced down at the real flowers for a moment, then back up to Sonora, hesitating and trying to figure out the best way to ask the question she wanted to ask without coming off as…creepy? Deranged?
“What kind of a Squire are you? You look like a flower, and I absolutely love it. I’m a Squire of Jupiter, I…seem to have an overwhelming amount of energy right now, so please forgive me but have you been up to your Wonder? Are there tons of flowers there? Just going by your outfit I would think so…”
Okay…that wasn’t too creepy or invasive! Good going, Targovishte.

"I'd heard some rumors, but thy really didn't do justice to how lovely these things are." Sonora sighed, contentedly. Really, Destiny City was special--there was so much to see and do, and so many things to discover. So much magic just....existing.
"I'm a Squire of Ida!" She said. "My Wonder...." She wilted, a little, sadly. "I think it was very green before? And I've been trying to clean it up? But having no one to tend it for a thousand years means that most of what it used to be is dead. I've seen it in memories, though--a beautiful botanical garden. I'd like to see it that way again."
Full of flowers and butterflies and little creatures that hid among the leaves. Someday, if she put her heart into it, Sonora believed her Wonder might be like that again.

Targovishte blinked and nodded, though wasn’t sure what or who Ida was. Then again, she didn’t know who Chronos was either, but Connie was a thing so…did it really matter?
Nope.
“Mine’s a big ruin, and my friend has this huge castle that has a ton of traps and things in it, I’ve…neglected really going to mine, but I want to change that.” The more people Targovishte talked to…the more she wanted to get her own hands all up in her Wonder. Wanted to make it beautiful. It might not be a botanical garden, but it had the potential to be something!
“I want to change that…” She said again, this time a sigh. “Yours sounds beautiful though! I’d love to see it someday, if you’re taking tours? I could bring some…gardening tools too, if you’d want?”

Sonora nodded, eagerly. "There are so many amazing Wonders out there in the universe--I can't imagine how amazing it must have been, once. So many beautiful places. And I guess it's on us to fix them, now, yeah?"
At least, that was the impression Sonora had gotten. And maybe it was a lot harder to fix things on Earth. Maybe there were a lot of forces arrayed against being able to make a difference, long term, on this little blue planet. But out there? There was so much she could do.
"I don't think it's really ready for tours yet," she confessed, "but I'd love to show it off someday. And see yours, too."

“I know mine definitely isn’t ready for tours, but I will absolutely write to you when it is!” Targovishte had her signet ring, at the very least and she could do that much. “If you change your mind and want gardening help, I’m absolutely ready and willing!”
Maybe…she’d look into a window garden for herself. It sounded so fun, playing in the dirt…watching things grow…or she could work on planting things up on her Wonder? There was a lot she could do. “I think we’ll do the best we can, but I’m not sure we’ll ever bring them completely back to what they were…but it’s nice to know that others want to try! I’m really glad we got to meet, Sonora!”

"I'll definitely let you know," Sonora said, brightly. "When I'm ready to share, and if I need gardening help." It was always good to have friends, certainly, but she wasn't entirely sure she was ready to share her Wonder.
It felt like her space, right now--and also like maybe she needed to work on it before she brought guests there.
"I'm glad to have met you, too, Targovishte. I'd love to run into each other again soon!"
It always felt nice, to make a new friend, especially in these magical circumstances.
