Under the Moonlight (12) : In an ever persistent desire to get people out of the city and into nature, Destiny City is hosting guided tours on the water at the Reservoir. Kayaks can be bought or rented, and a very generous sponsor has even covered the cost of several kayak rentals per day throughout the month. Away from the city lights, you can leave with a tour group at dusk or take a kayak out on your own. As you near the caves at the reservoir, you may even find that with each stroke of the paddle, the waters around the cave glow with bright, bioluminescent lights. If you’re lucky, the trip is peaceful, but you’re not so far out of Destiny City that you’re not at risk for at least some oddities. While you can be happy that there seem to be no mosquitoes biting, sometimes something large might bump under your kayak, or you may hear a strange, clacking wail from deep in the forests around you. Sometimes large trees rustle, and sometimes you see strange eyes just staring at you. No reports have come out about anyone being hurt or attacked, but the forest can be a scary place–especially if you’re not used to it. All kayaks must be returned by midnight or you risk being hunted by some very unhappy park rangers!

The only reason George found himself was doing this, was for a project he knew he would have to begin his senior year (as his teacher kept telling him) if he wanted to increase his chances of entering the ichthyology courses at the Destiny City college. So, at a decent, not trying to kill him time of day, George set out in his lightest but most protective clothing, and headed off toward the reservoir. For the terms of this, George had to join the guided tour offered at the reservoir, and simply record what he observed. Which wouldn't be too hard, if he didn't remember that this was Destiny City, where oddity was abound, and he was more than likely to encounter something, something he really hoped wasn't a monster fish, that would suck. He got the tour guide spot, renting a kayak and joining a small group that had gotten there before him (oh, girls from the nearby school, and some boys from the other, George was definitely going to be distracted he felt like). The tour guide came, gave them the typical spiel for safety and prep, and showed them how to safely get in their kayaks. He copied the other teens of the group, hopping in his own kayak carefully, and and let the tour guide begin. The tour was absolutely normal at first, George simply taking time to note the aquatic creatures he could make out in the waters, and the fauna around him, surprisingly able to ignore the teens with him who were snarking or cracking jokes. (Turns out, your senior year of high school made you shape up, just a bit) Eventually, the group quieted down as they reached the reservoir caves, an area not at all unfamiliar to George, but still nice nonetheless. As they went through, he heard a few of the teens startle in their kayaks, not seeing much until his boat jostled. "Woah!" He yelped, clutching at the sides of the kayak. The hell was that!? He looked around, down in the water but only saw shapes of fish by the glow of the luminescence the caves were known for. Leaving the caves, George realized the sun had long set, and now it was just him, this group of teens from other schools and the tour guide. Now, normally George was a fan of the night, the forest in the dark, but after the jostle, not tonight. It definitely did not help that they all began to hear strange noises, clacks of claws and screams of...something, and rustling just a bit too close for comfort. The group was properly spooked now, except for the tour guide who seemed very calm, not too surprising, since he likely had time to adjust in the past week to the forest noises. Eventually, they concluded their tour, the tour guide asking them to leave their kayaks at the shore, and that the rangers would get them within the next few hours, after checking for late night solo boaters. All in all, though it may have been creepy, George was pretty satisfied with what he jotted won, he'd just leave out some of the forest noises though,
