Leah grinned as she walked into Hindsight with Abby. She didn't really intend to do Karaoke tonight, just wanting to chat with Abby and grab a private karaoke room and act a fool for a bit. “I’ll be glad when you turn 21 and then we can grab a drink when we are here too! Just one more year. Tonight though, its karaoke time!”
She knew it was risky to go out at night anywhere in Destiny City, as there was always the threat that if you drank to much you made yourself an easy target for some loser negaverse agent trying to pray on those who didn't have their wits about them. Leah was determined not to be one of those people and never drank more than 2 drinks if she didn't intend to burn it off dancing. Luckily tonight was just karaoke and soda’s, but next year, next year she and Abby could party.
“Soooooo, I bet you cant beat my high score. Last time I beat you so bad … do you think we’ll get room three again.”

Abby just made a face at her friend and upped her normally non-existent accent to ‘posh brit’, “Terrrrribly sorry mum. I shall strive to be older next time.” She giggled and went back to talking normal. “Honestly just singing sounds like plenty of fun anyway. Besides, you won’t spill the secret if you're smashed.” The young woman just nudged slightly older her friend even as she snagged them a menu. No way they were going to just be singing and chugging soda. Food was also needed as well!
“I hope so. That one is tucked away so no one can hear your horrid screeching.” Abby teased Leah. “And the only reason you won the last time was because I was fighting a cold.” She was not. She knew that singing wasn’t her forte, but that was the fun of it. She didn’t have to care how she sounded, only that she had fun.

Leah gave a mock gasp putting her hand over her chest in mock indignation. “Why I never,” she said before she started laughing and rolled her eyes at Abby. “Whatever you have to tell yourself Abbs, whatever you have to tell yourself.” She knew she was screeching and her friend thought herself so funny. She smirked and winked at her friend, spinning around and walking backwards.
“Now maybe I won’t spill because I'm not completely smashed,” not that she ever had been and Abby would definitely know because Leah would have told her.
“Come on, let's get settled into the room,” she said, approaching the desk to ask if any rooms were open and grinning at her friend when their lucky room three was open. “Lucky us,” she said before saying to the person, “room three please.”
The person let them into the room and told them they had a two hour limit and it was busy so reups might not be possible.

“Yeah, yeah. Whatever Leah,” Abby just rolled her eyes and happily got led along by her friend. Grinning at their luck. Room three really was one of the better rooms so it was lucky when they could get it without a wait. “Looks like we aren't the only ones enjoying the weekend. Probably best to get our food order in before picking our songs.” She passed Leah the menu, already aware of what she was getting. She didn’t normally deviate too much from the appetizer platter since it gave such a mix selection and it wasn’t so much that it felt wasteful if they left any behind.
Once that was done with and while flipping through the song selections, looking for anything new that she wanted to sing, Abby said, “So spill… What was the whole cliffhanger you left off on? Who did you meet?”

Leah didn't really need the menu, but she looked at it briefly before deciding as perusal she was just going to go with some old bay wings. She sat the menu to the side and used the little ordering tablet to key in her food and her drink before she passed it back to Abby. They’d bring them their food and they could pay from the tablet.
Leah sat on the couch next to Abby and grinned at her friend, clearly happy and excited. “Soooo you know my cousin's husband, right? … Well his cousin, I forget what he said, but I think they're like second cousins … anyway I digress … he came to stay in the states with his cousin for a while and we’ve been hanging out. He's just so cool and he likes me.”
She knew it was probably a little strange because it was her cousin in law's cousin, but she was excited having never really dated before.
“We hung out a few times and I went to meet his friends at the pool a few days ago.”

“Yeah,” Abby looked at her very bouncy friend. She did know her cousin, and tangentially the husband. Not that she had really paid too much attention to either. It wasn’t exactly like she met either all that terribly often, enough to wave and chat politely if they met in public but not really enough to do more. So it wasn’t until Leah mentioned the ‘boy’ that her brows rose in surprise and a grin just spread across her face. Oh, now this was too good to be true.
“Ooooooo you met someone,” She started to say in a sing-songy voice. “You like him, you want to date him, you want to kiss him, you want to marry him.” Abby teased Leah, pretty much quoting that one line from Miss Congeniality. She kept this up for a little bit before she seriously asked, “What is he like? Nice and everything? If he hurts you I’ll have to kill him,” And she was back to teasing her friend, only slightly telling the truth. She was definitely more than willing to make this guy’s life a living hell if he hurt Leah. Murder though, that was a bit too far… leaving him for the negaverse… now that was a bit more questionable.

“Oh my god Abbs, you're being ridiculous,” she laughed, shoving her friend lightly when she started in the sing-songy voice. She knew Abby was just joking and Leah took it in good spirits, never bothered by the ribbing they tended to hammer onto one another.
She paused when Abby asked what he was like, “well he’s really fun and really nice to me … we came her and went canoeing to see the glowy water by the cave at the reservoir. He has a tiktok account, but it's full of thirst traps … though he did a video together and them comment section went a little haywire. And Abbs, he’s tall, like super tall. We don’t know each other that well, but I'm enjoying getting to know him.”
She chuckled and shook her head at her friend, “let me real, you wouldn't even be able to get to him before my cousin put him 6ft under, his cousin couldn't even help him.”
She pulled open the song catalog and flipped through, “okay Abbs so what are we thinking for song choice tonight?”

“I’m guessing you guys didn’t experience anything strange at the reservoir, did you?” Abby said absently, remembering the situation she encountered when she went up there with Cliff. Granted she was looking for the spooky and supernatural so maybe it was just a manifestation moment. A bit like how a lot of ghost stories occurred. Or at least ghost stories outside of Destiny City.
With a rather mischievous smile Abby popped up and ran over to the digital tablet of songs, quickly punched in a few characters. She snagged two mics and handed one to Leah as a very well known song started to play out of the speakers, and soon the words were showing up on the screen. Abby started to sing as ‘It’s Raining Men’ started.

“Oh, of course we did Abby and I’m guessing you went and weird stuff happened too … not surprised though. This city is mental,” she said, shaking her head and rolling her eyes. She really needed a vacation from this city. “We should do a beach day with friends soon. That way you can meet Emili.”
She happily took the mic from her friend, but could hardly sing as she was laughing at the choice of song, but it was so appropriate. “Good one Abbs.”
