Star Pox (10) : Genetically modified fruits aren’t exactly new but every now and then something seems to be going on with them. This year, it’s star fruit. The entire batch from Destiny City’s largest supplier has a strange side effect; a few minutes after eating one, star-shaped ‘freckles’ will begin to cover the skin. While this has been colloquially dubbed’ star pox’, it appears to be a harmless allergic reaction. The freckles fade after a few hours and pose no actual health risks; they’ve become quite popular across social media. This might be your only chance to experience the strange trend! …Unless sales are good enough to bring them back.

For the first time in a while, it'd been a pretty great, not to mention quiet week, for Glen. His numbers were up on his show, he had a dearth of recipes to show off and, the best, the texting between himself and Gabe was going pretty well! they'd even begun a very slow relationship, which was fine with Glen. He was sitting at home, debating if he needed to go to the store (sort of, for his own personal food, he just wasn't feeling leftovers from the week of cakes) When he heard a weird dragging noise. He didn't say anything, merely quietly got up, and grabbed the nearest heavy object (the book he had been reading) And followed the dragging noise, until it stopped at his back door. He made to quickly open the door and strike when he saw nothing, until he looked down, where he then noticed three very big, strangely bug even, star fruits, and an exhausted ball of orange fluff beside them. Glen really didn't know if he should be mad at Thierry or worried, it was awfully hot after all, he did pick him up before the fruit though, to get take him in for water. "Thierry, what the hell are those? Where did you even find them?" The blond asked, fixing the cat a bowl of water with ice. The cat took a moment to happily drink the water, and take a few breaths. "You haven't been out? The local produce had a surge of overgrown star fruit!" He, and Glen still had no idea HOW the cat could do it, thumped his chest with his paw. "And as the farmer of our little team," Glen would not correct him, but did give him a look, because while he didn't keep up with the news, he knew what fruit being weird meant in Destiny City. "....and as a part of my job as guardian, " The cat added in an annoyed grumble, "Ive got three of them!" He absolutely did not mention that he stole them. Glen sighed, going back outside to grab the fruits before they were noticed, and proceeded to get to work on cleaning one of them, storing the other two for later maybe testing/destroying. "So, as the guardian, and also a gaurdian, you want to try them right?" The blond asked, with the cat nodding excited. "Yes! I saw people eat them, before you start, and they seemed fine." Glen looked at the now clean fruit as Thierry talked, still nervous to try. He knew the cat liked to pick and choose information in an effort to be the nosiest creature alive, but he did at least try to take his mauvian duties seriously, when he was forced. Still though, in this case The man knew the cat was not thinking with duty in mind. Reluctantly, he began to cut the fruit up, until it went from one solid, vaguely star shape, to the cute shaped the cuts were known for. "Okay, we'll both try them, not the best idea in case we both die, but I really don't want you to go though this alone if it goes bad." That, and Glen did have epicac for himself and vomit inducing medicine for the cat, he didn't need to know that though. Without another thought, Thierry gobbled his pieces up, Glen eating his half until they were gone. The two looked at the plate, now unsure, and decided to give it a five minute limit to see if anything would happen. Glen looked up to tell Thierry this and gasped, On The cat's body little star like spots began to appear on his face, and when Thierry looked up, also gasping, Glen knew he had them too. "Doesn't do anything huh?" He scowled again, Thierry looking dejected now. Damn the cat, Glen couldn't stay mad when he made a little face like that. He picked him up. "Come on, We'll go watch TV, if we aren't laying the ground shaking in one hour we'll call it a success and save the others for a few days from now." Because, looking at his own freckles, they were pretty cute, and the man could think of a certain new boyfriend who might like to see them combined with Glens favorite dark blue night outfit.
